Jane Wyatt's father in this movie is Lee J. Cobb. She was a few months older than Cobb. The various actors made for an interesting film. Richard Dix did well in his role.
It's not hard to tell the differance in movies made today and ones like this .. the producer and director gave you enough time to read the credits in the good old days
Enjoyable Western - great picture quality and fun to see the actor that played Superman (a surveyor in this movie) and very cool to see ex-heavyweight champ of the world in an acting role - Max Baer - in the movie he throws some good punches - thank you!
I like Albert Dekker Richard dix and lee j cobb great actors Audie Murphy and Albert Dekker in The kid from Texas One of my all time favortes i hate the fact that Audie Murphy dies in the end still a great movie better if he would of lived
**** FOUR STAR FILM - One of the first old westerns. And a classic Lee J. Cobb performance. Once again it has all the essentials of a good yarn - old stage freight ways vs new railroad, two women after the same man (or are they?) and a whole cast of sub plots, villains, and quick sand alliances. It holds your attention until the end. They even have to reload after sic until todays Hollywood guns that can fire 200 rounds from a six bullet magazine. Its little details that keep these movies real.
"Victor Jory, "Clanton", possibly my favorite from this early era!" 🔹Jane Wyatt was so beautiful, such a unique lady, her authenticity shone through in her and her acting. She was perfect for the era, and so well liked. 🔹Richard Dix was perfect in his role, gentile, and believable. A classy man. 🔹Victor Jory, "Clanton", another superior Star of the era, I adore him in his roles, although he played a most capable for here, he did well on either side of the fence, he was an excellent actor.
Kind of hilarious that the biggest stars (or stars to be) in this film didn't get top billing and those that got top billing were flops. Lee J. Cobb and Victor Jory, and George Reeves were secondary billings in this but went on to be top billing actors. Reeves eventually performed the Superman role on TV.
At this time of history thing's were changing fast for some folks, but the industry generation was hard on the farmers, which was the parents of the baby boomers that would be me. Things change all the time, and the oast group finds it hard to adapt. That's called life. The move is one of the great ones of its time
George Reeves too. Fantastic cast
A nice bit of FUN, that's the entertainment I remember from my childhood.
Not a bad acting performance by ex-world boxing champ, Max Baer. George Reeves, TV's Superman in the 1950s has a small role.
Max Baer Sr. was Jethro's dad
Great cast for a B-Western

I remember my grandfather watching this
Really enjoyed watching this. Thank you 🤠

25 miles an hour. It's dangerous and unnecessary to go that fast. Why are people in such a hurry?

Is it a movie? Is it a plane? No, it's a public broadcasting from the streets of Missouri!
Many very good actors. Thank you.
I like Albert Dekker
Richard dix and lee j cobb great actors

Great cast, nice flick ... Wyatt is so young and sexy: Thanks for posting.
Especially being cross-dressed into her " buckskin " cowboy outfit !
For the RECORD; Liberty Mutual rip me off of $100s over 3 years. And never said thanks
Poor script movie made no sense

It's rare that I don't finish even the slowest of movies, but I will make an exception here. A real sleeper.
You didn't miss anything.

I love Jane Wyman
Jane Wyatt
@@jerryburton6825 No No No, He LOVES Jane Wyman, NOT Jane Wyatt. Surely, a man knows the NAME of the Lady He loves.
Lee J. Cobb? I AM IN!!!!
(Maybe he'll have peachfuzz on his chin...lol)
