She entered her first kids contest in Russia where she sang a song that required masterful yodeling.
It was a masterpiece, a tour de force, some say the best yodeling performance in the history of videos showcasing yodeling, but in this performance it wasn’t just her amazing yodeling but also her body movement and stage presence and incredible as this might sound ( and I’ll shortly explain the reason why) but NOT ONE CHAIR TURNED!!!!
After the song was finished and the judges turned around , the audience interrupted what they were saying by giving Diana a 5 minute STANDING OVATION. After the applause, the judges had her perform a segment of a French song made famous by Edith Pief and after she sang it , the lady judge covered her face with both hands in utter shock , disbelief and SHAME. The judges said they didn’t press their buttons because they couldn’t teach her anything. She was beyond their level already. But this turned out to be a BLATANT LIE and one of the worse scandals in Russian talent contest history. Because the following day it was revealed that the contest was “ fixed” the winner was “bought” before the show started. A total travesty of justice.
And the following days over 80 million who watched the contest when posted on UA-cam spit on the judges.
But she got her revenge the following year and year thereafter by winning not only the Russian contests in two consecutive years but 60 more awards and contests.
Please ( when you get the chance) I BEG of you to at least privately react by YouTubing “ Diana Ankudinova yodeling”.
And you’ll witness a yodeling masterpiece and if you stay to near the end of the judges commentary ( making excuses and lying) you will hear a brief portion of the French song the judges asked her to sing that she NAILED!
And there is a video of her outside a mall at age 11 singing this same French song but the complete version and she KILLED IT!!!! And at age 13 a classic flamenco song called “ me toy” which she performed with amazing emotional impact ( and in Spanish... a MUST WATCH ) And when you’re convinced that she’s one of the best female vocalists ( like millions of others including myself) you may want to react to a couple of her newer songs: ( she just turned 17 the other day) like “by your voice” “ Wave” and a masterpiece titled “Tomorrow is a lie” ( 4.26 one posted by HTB with famed composer Igor at the piano).
I promise you if you continue to publicly react to Diana ( “Rechenka,” “Human” , “Wicked Game”, “Yodeling”...your subscriber base will go through the roof.

Согласитесь, Диане не надо вертеться, прыгать, валяться на сцене, раздеваться, чтобы заворожить зрителей. Голос ... Это что- то невообразимое! В свое время великолепная А.Б. Пугачева так завораживала своим голосом и манерой исполнения. Кажется, Диана более талантлива. Обожаем мы ее, любим и переживаем за нее. А вам лайк за Диану.
Правильно сказал ведущий одного ТВ шоу: "...чем больше обнажённого тела, тем меньше вокала...". И все об этом прекрасно осведомлены, тем не менее вертеп процветает.
Голос у нее уникальный, но на любителя. Мне лично не нравится это низкое горловое пение.

Thanks to the show that we know Diana . She is cool. And the show is great.This is a show "You are SUPER" Created specially for orphans. All the participants are under 18 years old. All the children went through difficulties in their lives, loss of parents, orphanages etc... This is more than just a show. It helps to discover talented children to find their way in this life, because the participants have no money, have no support. For example Diana was found when she was 3 y.o. by her neighbours alone and hungry with a broken bone. She is one of 8 children of her biologycal mother . The only one child who survived.... Diana was adopted by her mother at the age of 5...

Hi guys, love your reaction. Just a bit more information - I speak Russian and have checked out info on a couple of documentaries. Her adoptive mum took her because of her eyes and the pain she saw in them, Mum learnt how to make dresses because her wage was so small -at that time maybe 300 - 400 dollars a month (rate fluctuations) and Diana needed a new dress quite often for singing events. But, and this cuts across what you were saying, even up to three years ago Diana would frequently ask if her adoptive mother was going to give her up - which points to an awful state of mind. Furthermore, until recently, she was always looking around fearful that her birth mother would come looking for her. Just beginning to look rosy for her now - for which we should all be thankful.
Diana has an unique voice and I love and respect her very much, but this performance of her for me is with no doubt my favorite. Lovely reaction 💞💞💞

Diana is perfect, and you have to know that she is an orphan.
I feel diana's voice as multidimensional, when i go to listen another singers i feel like im listening only in 2 dimensions, something is missing, then i come back to diana and my ears and soul are full again

'Rechenka': about an orphan girl who is engaged to someone she doesn't love, and she goes down to the river (the border between the living and the dead) to talk to her mother and ask for her advice. That rough whispery voice near the beginning is the voice of her mother.

This is russian folk wedding song) The girl speaks with a river and later with her friends that she isn't happy about the wedding... full house of guests, but everyone just having fun. Then she go back to the river. The river is strange, it flows but without any waves, most likely the girl drowned herself. This is one of variations of the song. Sometimes she calls her brothers for protection, sometimes parents, but the general meaning is the same. Thanks for reaction)

It's a very old folklore song. There are probably different variations. Many people say it's about an orphan who is about to be wedded, however, there's no-one to bless her (since the parents are dead).

Where it is sung in a whisper is like the words of a deceased mother, because in Russia since ancient times it was believed that the river is the border between the world of the living and the dead, as in the mythology of others countries. So the girl-orphan came to the river to tell the mother that she was being given away for the unloved, to a strange family, ask for blessings and cry.

The band Heilung has already conceptualized this type of performances: an amplified history. Google it! I strongly suppose if Diana could dig it through her future carreara, it would be so powerful for creating a new source for Russian soft power.. Diana could be the Medium for it, as many of Scandinavian experimental folk collectives. She is able to become Elvis Presley of this direction..

Diana Ankudinova was born in Arsenyev, Russia on May 31, 2003. Arsenyev is in the far east
of Russia near the Pacific Ocean, the border with China and the border with Inner Mongolia.
Her mother was an alcoholic and beat her, put out cigarettes butts on her body. Relatives found
her in the street in the middle of winter with a broken collar bone. None of them wanted her
because they thought she was mentally deficient. They placed into a Russian Orphanage at
three (3) years of age and she was adopted at five (5) by a Russian woman named Irina.
Because her language was so very poor, her Foster Mother took her to a vocal coach. The
vocal coach discovered she has musical talent and she has been singing publicly from the age
of 5. Her native language is Russian but, she is NOT Slavic. She is a native and probably
Mongolian. She sings in French, English, Russian and Spanish, was a beautiful child and a
beautiful teenager. She is now 17, has a deep contralto voice and is working on her upper
register. In my view, she is a Cinderella story and her Foster Mother deserves much of the
credit. She is a Great Artist with a unique voice, has blossomed through hard work for the past 12 years and, as a classically singer with a wide range, she is a joy to watch and listen too.
