I don't know why I cried so much listening to this. Music is beautiful..........A Sardar playing with an Afghan. Music breaks all barriers, fake barriers.

Wow, I love this, you can find roots to the connections between South Asian cultures through this combination of Rabab and Tabla. I am sure getting back to roots of our culture connections, will join us together.
Its Raag Yaman I think not Kalyan ! Cuz Aroh and avaroh are all of Yaman with a Pakad: Ni Re Sa, Ni Re Ga Re Sa. Notation is followed that of Raag Yaman !
As far as I know, Kalyan is the original name of Yaman and it's rarely used to refer to Yaman nowadays. The name Yaman was introduced during the Mughal rule (you can see the Arabic influence). So, Kalyan and Yaman are technically the same. But since no one refers to Yaman as Kalyan anymore, when you hear Kalyan; the first thing that comes to mind is Yaman Kalyan which adds to the confusion. For me, Kalyan and Yaman are always the same and Yaman Kalyan (together) is its sam prakarte raag.
Dear Farooqa! Technically you are wrong. Its not about the name its all about the notes being played and the progression being used. Ask a well learned musician and show him my comments and then let him listen to the performance. Kalyan by notes is different. Yaman by notes is different. Both have different feels
In music, a solo (from the Italian: solo, meaning alone) is a piece or a section of a piece played or sung featuring a single performer, who may be performing completely alone or supported by an accompanying instrument such as a piano or organ.
Just imagine this rabab being played at Darbar Sahib... It would be soulful... Or even anywhere, it is soulful❤️

I agree with you. Not too many people know of the difference between the two.
