- In this video I react to US vs UK KFC. This was the 2nd fast food comparison I've checked out between the UK and USA and somehow I'm even more shocked this time!

@@handleisGG There are some who say that they eat the same type and amount of food in Europe and yet lose weight , some also say that when they return to American after a long time in Europe they get sick eating the American food. There quite a number of videos on YT that show what is banned in European food but allowed in American food
@@Westcountrynordic yeahh it's fascinating, I get sick everywhere I go as long as its abroad 😂😂 so I'd probably fall ill if I went to the US anyway because of the difference in food and climate shock I guess, but for AMERICANS to come over to European countries and feel safer eating and they don't put as much weight as much as they would have if they ate those portions in the US is disturbing and that's what makes people distrust the government, if they can hide / not regulate the ingredients in foods then imagine what else they're capable of neglecting
@@Westcountrynordic I went to America a few years back (2016) and had to spend an absolute fortune on food because their affordable food just made me feel sick, lethargic, and headachey for the entirety of the first week or so.
Once I started eating homemade food from scratch with fresh ingredients I "magically" felt alright again, but it just solidified in my mind that american processed food is literally poison, and especially so for the stuff with HFCS.

I was in a KFC in Elgin in the North of Scotland.
There were 3 guys at the counter in their US Navy uniforms who were visiting a local military base.
One of them (who laughed about being from Kentucky) said to his colleagues that if US KFC tasted as good as the UK version, he would weigh 400lbs.

In the UK, as well as Australia and New Zealand, the only thing we refer to as a sandwich is something that has been placed between two pieces of sliced bread. If you place it between a burger bun, it is a burger. We have beef burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fish, burgers, etc. If it’s placed inside a bread roll, it is a roll. Like a salad roll, or a Vegemite roll, or a ham and cheese roll. Subway, for example, is not a sandwich.
As far as I am aware, it is only the US that calls all these items a sandwich regardless of the type of bread that is used

Pop some ham in a ciabatta and it’s a ciabatta, stick it in a baguette and it’s a ham baguette, stick it in a bap and you got a ham bap

Being from the UK I agree with the UK's smaller sizes. Junk food isn't good so serving them in massive portions, they are trying to give you diabetes.
And cholesterol problems, I like to combine it with diabetes and call it diabeterol. It's a joke of the stuff they put in food in the US. I'm glad I am from the UK, and even then, I don't go to kfc, maccies, or burger king.
Sorry - can I just say that I don't eat fast/junk food and am not obese but I am diabetic !

The rice boxes at KFC are nice. I find the normal meals in KFC to be big compared to other fast food chains, even in the UK. I can't imagine eating one of those American meals for lunch then heading back into work for the afternoon. I'd be asleep!
the meals are in small and medium size, the larger sizes are for a family meal not for one person.
Tried one of the rice boxes for the 1st time only a couple of months ago. Game changer it was DELICIOUS I was not expecting it tbh. 🇬🇧

Yes we are but it’s not just your maccy D it’s everything,Mars bars 25 year ago were nearly twice the size and half the price much thicker chocolate, but on the other hand think how worse it would be health ways had these things stayed bigger and cheaper

Yeah it's pretty nuts. Having said that KFC chips in the UK still manage to be utterly rancid regardless of how little additives are thrown in.

Unlike the US where fast food seems to be cheaper to buy than standard food shopping, I think it's cheaper to food shop here and prepare a meal at home.
An example is if I go to BK and get a takeaway for myself, my partner and her brother then it's regularly around £35.
For that same £35 I can buy a full week's food shopping for myself and my partner at Aldi.
This is why I've cut right back and now I will only have any sort of takeaway about once a month. As my grandma used to say, "look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves".
BK is one of the most expensive fast food places tho, definitely worth the price difference but for instance you can buy a family bucket of KFC for around £15
How much food are you buying? You can feed 2 people for like a tenner at bk.
yep, generally for all of Europe. Cooking at home is cheaper.
Burger King is outrageously priced I think a double whopper meal is about 12 quid. I've recently moved home and a nearby Asda does tins of peas and spaghetti etc for about 19p.

In the UK we use herbs and spices to flavour our food including salt and pepper ,we also use unbleached flour in our cooking .

We have mashed potatoes and gravy. It's been on the menu even before they made the video, especially the gravy which has been on the menu for years whereas the mashed potatoes is newer, has still been on the menu for around 4 or so years. Insider videos have been known to miss items. They did the same for the taco bell video too.
Granted, this video was filmed during the pandemic and the menu was very limited when they reopened for several months but i'm still pretty sure both items were still available.

I don't know about KFC or Mc D here in the UK, but our fish and chip shops just use sliced potatoes fried in oil, no additives
Also, if you want a pie, you can usually get them from fish and chip shops which are widespread.
Would have been good to have a price comparison.
I normally get my burger and chips from the chippy. Wees all over McDonald's and burger King, better price to. Haven't had five guys yet though

I found it funny that you said you didn't eat KFC much growing up, only a couple times a month. Growing up I only ate fast food (of any kind, mcdonalds kfc etc) like 2-3 times per year. So a couple of times a month is high to me.
I did a quick google and found british people east fast food around 6 times a month which is considered high compared to europe, as most of europe is at around 3 times per month. The average american seems to eat fast food about 11-12 times a month, which is just crazy to me.

I can't believe the list of ingredients for the fries. It's exactly how you said it Steve - you cut up some potatoes, fry them and put a bit of salt on them.
In the US, all ingredients in the salt have to be listed ,
I really can't stand skin on chips/fries, they seem to be everywhere now. They are supposed to stay good for longer when they are being carried to someone's house on the back of a moped. However in my opinion they are no good even the minute they come out of the fryer, they never go properly crisp when they have the skin on. Same goes for the wraps which used to have lettuce and tomato but they replaced them with red cabbage and carrot, which is why I never go to KFC now. Gross.

Scones (some of us, including myself, pronounce it Scone like Gone. Just depends where you're from etc...) are more often had with Afternoon or Cream Tea, and you have them with cream and jam, or just butter and you can usually pick from plain or fruit (sultana) scones. You can get savoury ones, like cheese scones, but having them as a sweet treat is more common. The main ingredient difference is that scones contain egg, whereas I believe biscuits don't.
Yes scone is gone. They rhyme.
I pronounce scone as 'gone' too. They don't contain egg though. I make them often and it's SR flour, butter, sugar and buttermilk.
You can buy mash and gravy as separate sides in UK KFCs. I get both regularly. We've never had the biscuit. Which is a shame. They have the biscuit in the KFCs in the Caribbean though. I really like them.

I did a presentation at University for tutors about synthetic food additives . Who knew in certain countries, oranges are dyed to make them look more attractive to buyers.

@@lordofwhip Exactly! In the 1990's, I worked a couple of summers in a Salmon farm with the cages on an inland sea loch (Loch Craignish) north of Crinan, Scotland. We fed them brown-coloured Fison's food pellets which contained, amongst other 'items', additives to colour their flesh 'Salmon pink'. Much of those pellets ended up on the sea floor causing serious environmental issues. They move the sea cages slightly when things get bad - the cages used to be just off the visible pier at Old Poltalloch, they've now been moved a little north of this location (the 13 visible circles) - not sure how they got away with such a small move. Google Earth unfortunately only shows the 1st high res image at 2011, showing their moved locations (the earlier image is too low res).

As someone who’s worked in a UK KFC for about a month, we do have mash potatoes, we also have gravy!! We have corn but it’s corn a cob -- not a single fast food place does the “biscuits” as it’s not a thing here, scones here have sugar in it as it’s not savoury

UK full ingredients list is as follows:
Potato, Vegetable Oil (Sunflower, Rapeseed) in varying proportions, Salt, Maltodextrin, Yeast Extract, Spices, Onion Powder, Sugar, Tomato Powder, Herbs, Garlic Powder, Acid (Citric Acid), Spice Extract, Flavouring.
The ‘Spices’ refer to black pepper, white pepper and paprika and the ‘Herbs’ refer to thyme, sage, rosemary, bay and oregano.

About the scones/biscuits and meat pies, I think there's a good reason it isn't on the UK menu. We have so many great bakeries and shops serving high quality baked goods at decent prices, I can't think of any situation where I'd ever want to get mine from KFC.
Also your comment about the chicken looking bigger. I think this is actually true from what I've seen. America's GM poultry and questionable feeding and drugs practices has created chickens that are about twice the size of (normal) UK chickens. I remember seeing a tiktok recently of a British girl who went to an American shop for chicken, got four chicken breasts, then realised when she got home that the breasts were huge 😂.
Also I dread the day when our government loosens our food regulations and allows some of this American food to turn up in our shops.

Scone is a pastry made thingy so don't know if I could eat one with a KFC. We Brits are onto something with our afternoon tea ritual. Not only is it a pleasant way to break up a long day, it's a fabulous excuse to put away our computers and indulge in some good old-fashioned conversation. Whether you go to a café, somebody's home or your own between 3pm and 5pm, you can enjoy a scone (biscuit) with butter and jam (jelly), a dollop of fresh cream and a pot of hot tea made with boiling water, not just lukewarm water. What could be more delicious?
I don't eat KFC. The differences are horrifying.

@@jennysmith8835 The vast majority of KFCs (95%) are franchises, so you really can't use an experience at one to damn the rest.
The ingredient list for the fries is insane! I know how to make superb fries/chips and the ingredients are potatoes, oil and salt !

It'd be interesting to get the British and American tasters together to try each others food. Also we've been in different KFCs in Britain (whilst on holiday etc) and the standard and taste can be very varied. Where we live its a 30 mile round trip to get to a KFC, which I'm actually thankful for because we may well fancy a KFC where we may not be in the mood for our local takeaways, which are fish and chips, kebab, Chinese or Indian. Its probably saved me and my wife from being alot bigger than we already are.
Go to their UA-cam site. The USA guy, Joe flew to the U.K. a couple of weeks ago and they met, filmed it and reviewed fancy burger places in London. It’s fantastic!

@@daveedwards7366 Not me mate, I'm british. I'm a truck driver and when I did nights away from home I'd try to get to hartshead Moor services because the KFC there was a good one.
I can’t remember the name of the guy off the top of my head but have you seen the movie documentary Supersize Me? It was early 2000’s I think and you should be able to find it on YT, anyhow the guy filming it who’s a healthy 30 something at the time challenges himself to EAT NOTHING BUT MACCY D’s for 30 DAYS STRAIGHT!! He meets with his doctor and other health specialists before starting out and they take various stats, blood pressure, weight etc, basically a full medical and repeat this at the end if the 30 days. Some of the results are close to terrifying. Well worth watching. He latter went on to try launching his own brand of. chicken fast food joint 😊
We defo have mash potatoes and gravy on the menu in the UK too. The portions of mash are about a 5th of yours though.
I've just found your channel and it's a real eye opener the differences between the two countries.
I was put off fast food with my 11 experience back in 1981.
I was 17 and food in the states was so different from English food. I did put on a stone in weight so was ever watchful after that. I had no idea of chemical ingredients at that point but soon learnt in nursing training when home.

You may want to look up, in the same series, the comparisons between UK and US Pret à Manger and Nando's. Both are British chains (well, Nando's is actually from Portugal). For Nando's there is also an HILARIOUS UK-India comparison, which is OT for your channel, but an absolute joy to watch.

@@nilocnolnah6788 It's actually a South African chain with some food from Mozambique, the mistake is that they use Galo de Barcelos in their brand which is known to be Portuguese, there were rumors that the owners were African Portuguese but I don't know if that's true

@@wallythewondercorncake8657 I'm Portuguese and African and I can say no, in fact the first time I heard about Nando's was when I moved to London, and I thought it was great Portuguese *frango assado*, the chicken wasn't bad but of course it doesn't compare but when my son who was 13 at the time took his first and only bite of *pastel de nata* a very well known product from Portugal he said it was horrible and it wasn't pastel de nata i tried it and he was right And believe me, I have eaten here in London many times in Portuguese café and the taste is very similar, when I visited Portugal I asked my family and friends about Nando's and nobody knew, I looked it up on the internet, here in London you can find Nando's anywhere and well close to each other, but in Lisbon you have to look a lot to find one, and I visited there the chicken is definitely much tastier and I asked and they said it was from South Africa and they showed it to me online, if you look,

i've known a few people from kentucky. one being my mates wife. and they all say how ironic it is that European KFC tastes better than KFC from kentucky itself.
We do have mashed potato and gravy in uk kfc we also have southern style rice as a side to
no we don't have biscuts here for sure, don't really have any of them anywhere in the uk. Scones are different, similar yes, but not the same. Also, we could have mashed potatoes and gravy, just buy a side of each, you just can't buy them as a combo
We don't have that style of biscuits at all in the UK. Scones are something different, generally sweet and served with jam (and hopefully clotted cream), except for cheese scones which are served with just butter. Scones are a snack rather than part of a meal. We do have gravy but it doesn't necessarily come with mashed potato - which is just being introduced in a few outlets.

We have gravy in England at KFC but not the mash. And we like to have our scones with jam and cream....not chicken. Great video, keep it up 👍
we've got mash now, my daughter tells me it's been available for a couple of years, I was surprised.
About the things we don’t have in the UK.
We do have Mashed potato and gravy. The pot is the same as the beans.
About the “scones” we don’t have them but those would specifically be called savoury ones, since the word is usually associated with the sweet variety. Savoury scones are actually quite hard to find.
Scones for us are typically a sweet thing, as a snack, breakfast or afternoon tea with cream and jam or butter. You can get cheese scones, but less common, and again would be a snack or eaten warmed up with butter. Not used as part of a meal like your biscuits seem to be. If scones were on the menu in KFC here it would end up listed as a dessert option, it's not something we would ever think to have with fried chicken. The exclusives in the US seem very Soul food/Southern cook out items to me
Putting sugar in scones is a recent thing in the U.K. Traditionally they are made without sugar, which really helps bring out the taste of the jam. My favourite as a teenager was herb scones. Just normal sugar-free scone dough with added mixed herbs.
@@sarahstrong7174 I don't usually have the scone itself with sugar, just mentioning a plain scone is usually a dessert or snack with cream and jam (those fillings make it a sweet or a desert rather than having it with a meal) as apposed to scones with cheese or has you say herbs in the mix, which still I'd be having on their own with something spread on rather than in a meal

We definitely do have gravy in the UK and it's only been recently that I've noticed they started doing mashed potato here too.
and it's much more closer to actual gravy and potatoes than the artificial crap they serve in the US
Gravy in the US is different to our gravy. I dated an American girl many years ago and their gravy is like wallpaper paste.
The government over here controls what goes into food, where additives are concerned. Most of the flavourings and additives he mentioned are banned over here. And there is a lot of pressure on fast food places over here, where portion size is concerned too. The government have had big drives about the obesity epidemic and health. And we wouldn't have biscuits and mashed potato over here, I'd never even heard of that until I went to the US the first time!
I was born and raised in the UK but I’ve spent a fair amount of time in the US. When I’m over there, I actually have to order children’s versions of fast food on the rare occasion we eat stuff like that. The adult portions are just wayyyyyy too huge. Even if I order a kid’s cheeseburger meal with fries and a drink, my husband sometimes has to finish it for me - and I’m not a skinny girl. I’m a fairly average-sized woman.
I once went out for a steak and managed a quarter of it before I had to have the rest packed up to go home. It fed my (6’2”) teenaged son for two days.
Same story when I went to Junior’s cheesecake in NYC years ago. Bought a slice. Ate my fill. Took the rest home and had cheesecake for the next couple of days.
I think it’s got to the point where Americans are so used to large portions, restaurants fear being accused of ripping them off if they don’t have enough to take home to eat later, which perpetuates the problem because they then keep providing huge portion sizes.
UK KFC in the late 80s did have biscuits (savoury scones). As a little kid I loved them more than the chicken. Then one day they vanished and never came back.

Interesting video on food. I’m from the UK and hardly ever eat at KFC these days. I’ve never seen mashed potatoes 🥔 and gravy or biscuits 🍪 in any KFC. The ingredients were very shocking, so many of them to keep consumers addicted. Makes me think the food industry is finding ways to keep us fat and addicted

Oh my goodness, our mashed potatoe is literally less than a third size of yours! We have gravy but again like a tiny tub. Outside of America lve never seen anyone eat biscuits as a savoury thing.

We do now have Mash and Gravy (separately), but not every store; What you call "Biscuits" is indeed called Scones here, and what we call Biscuits here, you'd call cookies (although we do also have cookies, but we only know them as that if a pack specifically says so); Tea here is almost always a hot beverage
I remember when Kentucky Fried Chicken first outlets were opened in England in 1965 (I was visiting some former school chums). The menu featured chicken & biscuits. Nobody could understand this very very strange combination. 🍪❓It wasn't long before the biscuit thing vanished, and chips (fries) were substituted. Btw, I suggest it isn't so much that food quality has deteriorated, but that as kids we didn't care about quality - we wanted quantity.

New Zealand does have Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and heated Bread Rolls. We also have a Burger with NO BUNS, it's 2 KFC chicken fillets that replace the buns with burger fillings between the 2 fillets

@@redvelvetshoes saw a documentary about it, it’s the gloop at the bottom of when they cook the chicken, stock, bones and skin. All mixed with flour and a colouring agent. I’ve tried it. Horrible.

I've been in both US and UK KFC, even in Louisville Kentucky lol. Don't remember having that massive fries box wow, I know I had the scones and the mash and gravy 😁 UK like to have salt and sugar levels on their supermarket items, you can clearly see in red if it's high on any of them
One of the healthiest fries on a UK fast food is actually from an American franchise, "Five Guys". Just potatoes, oil, salt, and maybe their seasoning if you get the cajun fries.
We treat scones a lot differently to how you guys treat "Biscuits" so we don't have "biscuits and gravy" at all, for the most part. We do have "Popeyes" now, which serve that and mashed potatoes.
We do have KFC gravy. I watched a video several years ago on how it was made...nasty! Buuuut it does taste good 😋
As a gluten free person, I'm noticing a lot of the foods I can usually eat in the UK (such as chips) I could not eat in the US, because they add flour (why????)
Flour can help give a crispy coating. I did a pub grub cookery course at a Michelin starred restaurant and they recommended using rice flour. I have also seen flour in a roast potato recipe.

I've seen this is a recurring thing in all these compare videos that the US has so many chemicals in their food.
It might get a bit bland here at times but at least it's fairly wholesome food. In the US your basically consuming poisons.

i don't know if anyone has mentioned this in other comments, but part of the reason why British KFC doesn't have 'mashed potatoes' is because in the US, the type of mashed potatoes used is instant mash, which if you didn't know is illegal in the UK and EU region, so as a result of cost (as in if they wanted to sell mashed potatoes in the UK/EU it would need to be real potatoes) they don't sell it here.
i'm not sure if you have already seen the video by simon whistler on one of his many channels about foodstuffs banned in the EU but legal in the US (not sure if it was even mentioned in that video tbh), but one of the chemicals used in instant mash is a known carcinogen, as well as also causing other problems if absorbed into the body in high enough amounts, it's partly why you will rarely find 'instant mash' in the UK because we sell pre mashed potatoes in pre-prepared containers at the supermarket in the fresh sections, usually sold in 500g serving sizes (2 portions worth).
UK KFC do sell mash potato and gravy, as does KFC in Australia. You can also buy instant mash potato in the UK and in Australia.
@@janetpendlebury6808 i didn't say you couldn't buy instant mash, i said it's extremely rare to find somewhere that does sell it and the type of instant mash in the UK is very different to that sold in the US for a number of reasons as i mentioned one of the key reasons above, also i haven't been to KFC in a good few years now but all the places near where i live do not sell any mashed potato or gravy products, so if you're saying that they do it must be a regional thing and only certain areas actually sell those kinds of products.
Instant mash powder in the UK is widely available, Smash for example. Where do you get that it is illegal or are you saying illegal to sell in fast food outlets?
@@RonSeymour1 you have conflated what i said, i stated that AMERICAN INSTANT MASH is illegal in the UK due to 2-3 of the chemicals used in AMERICAN INSTANT MASH being illegal in the UK and EU regions, i'm fully aware that instant mash exists in the UK, but the ingredients are VASTLY different to those used in the US which is why it's rare to find as most grocery shops in the UK sell pre mashed ready to eat potatoes in trays in the fresh sections of the stores (usually in fridges where the rest of the fruit and veg is sold), it's also rarely used in 'fast food' because of cost, and as i said previously, it might be a regional thing where some restaurants (considering it's a franchise it might be on a place by place basis) have taken the opportunity to sell these products, as everywhere near where i live do not sell any of these things.

I now get that you were referring to American-made mash but in my defense, that isn't what you appear to have said. I get that you spoke of using real mash and the expense. To be honest, I would have thought that all KFC products in the UK are produced in the UK and if so, using mash would not be a problem. The only possible exception is the secret spice mix. As I say, it was a genuine question and misunderstanding.

The fries in he UK have the skins on, they don't say if this common in the UK. leaving the skins on increases the vitamin C in the portion so it looks better in the daily requirement panel.
We used to have mashed potato & gravy - not sure if it's been reintroduced as I've not had a KFC in quite a long time - but anyway, the powers that be found out there were a few health issues with the gravy, so KFC stopped doing it.
They have it in our area unless they only just stopped it. I saw it just before Christmas

I might be able to explain the drumstick calorie thing. I used to work at a UK KFC and we were told to double bread the drumsticks as standard (which is what I think extra crispy is in the US)
KFC UK do have mash potatoes and gravy but scones are a sweet thing mainly so not really a fast food staple. I would love the pot pie though and the USA dips would go down a treat. I always wondered why KFC didn't do a honey mustard dip, honey mustard is awesome with chicken 🤣. The krushems are just milkshakes with crushed biscuit pieces (cookie pieces) like strawberry shortcake or Oreo, they're so good.

Well, to be fair, the UK could have the same ingredients for fast food. They’re not legally required to disclose all of their ingredients, unlike chains in the US.
My wife had to see a dermatologist because of a rash, whilst going through what she had eaten and was there anything different, the only thing different was a KFC, the doctor pulled a face and said if she was on a deserted island and KFC was the only food she would starve.
We've got gravy as a side order (I order it for my KFC) but it's that, baked beans, corn cob or coleslaw normally.
well this is not food is junk real food is meat fish vegetables rice etc etc this is why exist all health issues like obesity and diabetes.........

Our scones (US biscuits) are considered a sweet delicacy and are served generally with jam (jelly) and clotted cream.
You called the gravy brown gravy, I did not know that gravy came in other colours, we only have (brown) gravy here in the UK. Unless of course you are considering sauces such a parsley sauce and bechamel sauce as a gravy, which they are not.
Aussie here. Pretty sure ours and UK menus are similar. So no pies or biscuits on the menu. You could probably interchange them but we dont have that sort of biscuit at all and scones are more for afternoon tea and either sweet or savoury. The recipes for scones and biscuits are a bit different. Our sizes and ingredients and KFC are pretty much the same as UK I think. The only ingredients with our fries/chips is potato salt oil. Our food rsgulations wouldnt stand for those US additives.
Considering ingredients in french fries, what in the world is in the mashed potatoes or possibly in the gravy. By the way, in the south we have meat pies, especially in Louisiana.

In South Africa our buckets are 9, 15 and 21 pieces. I find it strange that the quantities differ per country. I may be wrong, but I think McDonald's portions and recipes are identical to the USA. In fact there is a thing called the Big Mac Consumer Index that is used to compare cost of living across all countries that have McD by comparing the cost of Big Macs.
Mash potatoes have now been added to the uk menu. Gravy is on the uk menu. You can buy 20 wings in the uk.
We do have mash and gravy at uk KFC. We don't have biscuits because our scones are sweet not savory. The closest would be cobbler which is a stew with unsweetened scones on top

If you were to add bread to a hot meal, it would be soda bread/potato bread in an Ulster fry.
Yorkshire pudding would be added to a roast dinner (with the obligatory gravy), and is probably the closest example to a biscuits and gravy combination. It's like a pastry type thing.

Google says te UK fries is: Potato, Vegetable Oil (Sunflower, Rapeseed) in varying proportions, Salt, Maltodextrin, Yeast Extract, Spices, Onion Powder, Sugar, Tomato Powder, Herbs, Garlic Powder, Acid (Citric Acid), Spice Extract, Flavouring.
Best place to get a meat pie is a fish and chip shop. There is also in the North West of England a steak and kidney pudding. In the South they have pie and mash shops.
Maybe the fast food company's in the USA are in cahoots with the medical health care, if you think about it if you have obese people and people with health issues with all the additives they will need more medical care over time.
And that a double win for the health care and big pharma and also more customers for the fast food company's.

In the UK the Pie, Mash and Gravy we would go to a pub for, not KFC. For just Pie and the Gravy, most Fish and Chip shops stock that. Probably just not able to compete on those sorts of products here.
The difference in food safety standards, like chlorine washing chicken, and how much safer food costs. We get less because it costs more to make food actually safe to eat regularly. Plus, we do get mashed potaotes and gravy in the UK.
This must be an old video because KFC in the UK only offers sugar free drinks now, and surprised they didn’t mention that KFC do not salt their fries in the UK.
I think the same in the UK about KFC it still might be more healthy than the USA KFC but the flavours are not the same to generations ago.i and others believe the spice mix has been changed or not the same amounts of herbs and spices used.

You can get mash and gravy in the uk. I order it with a corn on the cob with boneless chicken.
We have mash potatoes with gravy in New Zealand but not the US biscuits, instead we have a small bread roll. I love to buy the popcorn chicken to drop into my potato and gravy. Scones while similar to US biscuits are not exactly the same. A Scone is actually slightly denser. If you where to weigh a Scone and a Biscuit of exactly the same size the scone would weigh a tiny bit more. A chief I know has made both and says the US biscuit takes a bit longer to make than a scone and is fluffier. No Corn in NZ but the corn on the cob did used to be a thing here ages back. The KFC chicken burgers have been available in NZ since the 80s. We have all the wraps and the zinger burger, We also have spicy Wicked Wings with a crispy, crunchy coating. There is a limited time Bacon Aloha Burger on the menu at the moment that was put on not to long back that is original Recipe Fillet, Pineapple, Cheese, Bacon, Pepper Mayo, Mayo and Crunchy Slaw (I am told you can request a zinger fillet instead of the original in it). Our sauces are Supercharged Sauce, KFC BBQ sauce,Garlic aioli, tomato sauce, and Pepper Mayo. Tomato sauce is similar to ketchup have similar herbs and spices added but without vinegar. We have coleslaw here and you also used to be able to get a bean salad, but that has been off the menu foe a while now. We also have a Slider here, A warm flatbread with a Crispy Tenders, choice of 3 different sauces and fresh mixed crunchy slaw.
