I normally don't like making fun of grammar but that was actually pitiful, he had a script, with a different take for each sentence, like seriously he couldn't even read off of his script in one take, he needed a new one for EVERY single sentence or pause, there were multiple parts where he used 2 takes for 1 sentence, even though the sentences are usually short and simple, and on top of that he did a terrible job of putting the beginning better, looping back on his point of it being "way more goofier" by saying it's "wacky" without adding anything to the sentence or elaborating on why it's "way more goofier", he did a lazy loop at the end without even syncing the background music which is the same low bpm beat every few seconds, and the cherry on the steaming pile of shit is that the comics aren't even goofy

As much as I adore James McAvoy he doesn't have the low tone of voice you'd imagine Dream to have when reading the comics. I always imagined Dream having a deep british voice like Severus Snape from HP.

I remember picking up the Sandman Overture comic book at my school library, and it was one of the best comics I've ever read. It was so trippy and weird, but still charming and cool to look at. My favorite panel is when Dream meets Delirium at some point, and the pages turn into flowers, where each petal is a different panel of the comic. It was awesome. I also barely understood what was happening, since I was only in 6th grade, but I'd still read it again just to experience it with a more mature mind
I read the overture in 7th and it’s still a little confusing even after reading the main series but yea I I’ve read the whole series and I recommend watching some videos on why it’s good and what fans themselves find interesting about it for me personally I love the Barbie in her dreamland ark because it actually changed my view on a certain social view that I don’t feel like sharing. Also season of mists is really fun and interesting
Batman himself only appears very briefly in one of the last few issues. It’s absolutely worth a read regardless. The references/nods/appearances of other DC universe characters and story elements are infrequent enough that you could recommend it to just about anybody. I definitely wouldn’t describe the series as goofy or wacky though.

Neil Gaiman is literally one of the best authors to exist. Loved Coraline along with his Calendar of Tales and a bunch of other books and stories he's made.

The books are a mind bending art
If I had to use an adjective to describe the sandman, It would never be goofy or wacky. There's really no adjective cool enough to match the intensity of creativity which would have took to write characters like endless. It's transcendental, unearthly Miraculous.
