When I as 13 I rode my first motorcycle, I'm 70 and been tiding ever since, 55 bikes 4 continents and the reason I love them is the handing, the feel, the overall engineering that gets me there. These get me no where.
First bike at 1:30 ,,, SNAP behind the floor boards lol , I had a mate that thought he would go ahead and make his own Tow Bar to tow his 17 ft boat and wondered why it snapped on a major highway nearly losing his boat , he was a great welder BUT an engineer he was not , These bikes and even the Rad Rods they build on TV are great ART but also death traps waiting to happen and would NEVER pass an engineering inspection for road use in Australia , Since about 2006 onwards With I Can Make and Do Anything reality TV Shows on every channel EVERYONE is now a Structural / Mechanical Engineer . Its Madness on massive scale o O
There all show and no go. but there built that way and the owners know that. I also have been riding all my life and I'm 66. Hell, I cant even remember all of the bikes Ive owned. I remember the first one, it was a 66 Norton atlas. Rode it down old route 66 all the way to Calif. But to each there own man. Different stokes for different folks. Variety is the spice of life..i like it that way. Just an old hippie, Peace
AndyJames88 This makes me think of the Mondasian Cybermen origin story where the 'patients' keep pressing buttons that say 'pain' and 'kill me' over and over
That guy with the long handle bars could barely steer it. My brother raked his bike and said handling at slow speeds was terrible...but it looked cool!
Some of these comments kill me. "Rats" are like allowing the inner child within to become unleashed again, but with adult fabrication skills. They are works of art and designed to please no one but the creator, who enjoys the challenge. 90% of the joy comes in the fabrication and working out design flaws as you go along. Those who talk smack on here probably have next to no mechanical/ fabrication skills; They are the ones who buy a $20K bike and can't find the battery or drain plug. Of course these guys don't usually ride long distances on these bikes; That's not the point.
that's right, they are art... not really a true motorcycle. Real cycling is about the ride. Those just say, hey look at me I can follow trends and I don't mind putting others in danger to ride my dangerous POS on the street. I can't stand other riders who have no thought for others they share road with
I’d love to see a drag bike built like this considering the shape of most of these or a more functionally framed bike for cornering through hillside roads 👌🏻
I like the bikes. It’s not something I would build for my self but they are still cool bike lot of skills went into making them. It really shows you are only limited by your imagination as for as design goes
These bikes are the best versions of men's art. I wanna find someone in the Cleveland area that can help me build my own or allow me to help build theirs. I have too many ideas for these style bikes. I've built lowrider bicycles all my life and this is the adult version of those for sure. Maybe they're a little less sparkly and shiny but thats exactly the way I like it. Great bikes though, every single one is amazing in its own way
Unless it operates on STEAM, and/or springs, it us NOT _steam_punk. Internal combustion is after the age of steam. These would be dieselpunk (which is really cool). (Yes, even if not diesel, its ICE)
wow, that last bike. They would just impound that here, menace to society. They get all over my bikes and they are all bone stock but one as I cant find the bike or a set of stock pipes, so it's got toomies. I have a collection of 70's and 80's 2 stroke street bikes. 22 bikes atm and I ride every one of them at least once a month even if it's just around the circle drive lol. not much more room in my 3 bay garage. I need to make a video and I need to find a riding buddy. My riding partner recently passed away. Any interest in 2 strokes Cheers all
Looked more steampunk. The origins and style of ratrods, cars or bikes, has been lost in an orgy of builders overcharging idiot's with big wallets who have been brainwashed by overenthusiastic media marketing.
A couple of these are really cool. A couple of them looked like they almost unrideable. If I'm building a bike I am going to ride the crap out of it. I don't think making a bike ride able takes away from the art.
Ratrod use to be cobbling your ride together with whatever parts you could get not gluing goofy crap to your ride just to try to make it look cool or Ratty. In other words you don't do Rat on purpose it just sort of happens over time on its own,in short you can't buy Rat. Just like choppers are not store bought they start with a stock bike and you chop it. No such thing as a factory built new chopper.
I LOVE RAT RODS WITH THE STEAMPUNK INFLUENCE. SO SIMPLE AND CLEAN.
When I as 13 I rode my first motorcycle, I'm 70 and been tiding ever since, 55 bikes 4 continents and the reason I love them is the handing, the feel, the overall engineering that gets me there. These get me no where.
Because they are horrible !

They are not great art . They are bad on all levels. What happened to Candy Apple paint jobs?

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I LEARNED SO MUCH.
I LOVE IT!!!! TOTALLY AWSOME INNOVATION!!!!
If these bikes could speak, they'd be saying "Killll meeee"
AndyJames88 This makes me think of the Mondasian Cybermen origin story where the 'patients' keep pressing buttons that say 'pain' and 'kill me' over and over
Best comment ever
Seems like ideal bike for cornering
The summit of bike development. So much better than steam engines.
NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A STEAMPUNK MOTORCYCLE BIKE THAT'S NOT A NORMAL MOTORCYCLE BIKE ANYMORE THAT'S A STEAMPUNK MOTORCYCLE BIKE NOW!! THAT'S OP
That guy with the long handle bars could barely steer it. My brother raked his bike and said handling at slow speeds was terrible...but it looked cool!
Dude I can even smell the gasoline burning 🔥 all the way from here 😆
so thats what a Harley looks like when the flash is taken off. May Harley Davidson rest in peace........
Btw, those are Yamaha motorcycles. Not Harley.
Truly works of art if you think shit can be art
just think... somebody actually fk'ed your mother and made u.... that is real shit right there
Loved the adjustable wrench on the front axel nut!
I never knew these things existed until now holy shit I love everyone of them
I've only seen like 2 steampunk motorcycles at shows, now I wish there were more out.
You guys are all nuts ( and bolts ) but I love it.
I'm sure Leonardo da Vinci is impressed with this 15th century styling.
at this level, they are no longer motorcycles, they are divinities !
Yes the bike cannot go around a curve the floor boards are damn near touching the ground just sitting on the road with no weight on the bike

the one with blue rims was a very beautifull bike
Makes me smile! He's using parts in ways Mother Nature just never intended.

..."The Best of Rat Rod and Steampunk Motorcycles!" Scratching my Head!
These are cool looking Bikes.
That it the most original concept I've seen in a long time!!👍
I'm not interested in showing off with flames coming out the exhaust and putting around at 5 mph. I want to actually ride not just pose.
Agreed. 2 mile an hour fashion show. No thanks.
I’d love to see a drag bike built like this considering the shape of most of these or a more functionally framed bike for cornering through hillside roads 👌🏻
What a fucking fabulous soundtrack... thank you.
I like the bikes. It’s not something I would build for my self but they are still cool bike lot of skills went into making them. It really shows you are only limited by your imagination as for as design goes
Honestly, these kinda bikes are kinda cool, but...I'd personally prefer one with a more futuristic, complex look.

Great video! Awesome bikes!
it is an art without sense. don't know how people make a motorcycle like this.
Seriously fantastic! Only in America. Love to see one on the road here in the UK.
manу such motorcycles available in Russia
Just lovely!!!
Different tastes and styles. Not my style but maybe somebody's. More power to them. Rock on.
Mindboggling
I thought I had junkers back when I was growing up, now I find out they were ratrods.
so the air bottle on the back is that a pressurized air for the up and down thing
Just Crazy!!! Great imagination and art to express wnath's in mind... Awsome job👍.
Not my kind of art, its art for unique individuals
I like the slo-mo diesel at 6:24. Un-fucking-believable!
If you want ride max 500 meters slow speed and there are no curves, these bikes are OK.

Great bikes, but the crazy handlebars on the second one just ruin it. Looks like it would be hard to ride with those on it.
This isn't a biased selection at all.
Brilliant My Friend!!!,!!!,
That's something the Terminator will put together

Аааааааааааа! Какой прекрасный кошмар!))👍👍🤘🤘
Not sure how this ended up on suggestion list. But I can say is that this is the nicest collection of the ugliest bikes ever made.
Its cool looking tho
I can't un-see these
Просто супер.
And the prize for silliness and impracticality goes to.....
Most Americans on the road it looks like.
Mad Max the return
Why build a bike that you can't ride? I don't understand.
because they are idiots
OCC 👍
Imagine a air ride failure at 55mph
So much fun.
Fantastic....!!!!
Basics gotta love it

Cheers all
Is that a Kawasaki Vulcan in that first bike?? Whatever it is, well done. Love rat bikes.
Weld the wrenches directly to the hardware!!! Why didn't they think of that on the factory jobs? (That's a rhetoricle question.)
Is this art or is this insanity?
When someone told them they need to get a hobby, they probably didn't mean this.....
something went horribly wrong lol :D
These are not what custom bikes should have evolved to.
@@1-shotslinger108 its gona take them over tho ,im building my second one ,lots being made ...sorry bro be the new in thing
You got to build low down small scoots with narrow wheels that go fast. Read the comments NOBODY LIKES THESE !
@@1-shotslinger108 you don't like the chain for fender brackets? il admit the low ride would suck and looks dumb
What a shovel head looks like with the corona viris
very good
awesome wips, I'm starting mine tonight! lol.
Ware's the wall? Hahahaha
That's some awesome stuff guys!
Can't see why the NEG comments. It ALL cool to me, est the farm engine rig. HAHA but really cool
Half these negative posts are from guys that couldn't fix a samich!
3:25 Right Leg positioning must suffice for a chain guard.
Okok.. amazing. Tak cobak gawe dewe ae ng omah aku
A movie design for innovation of advancement and Technology. put this one in the archives for future reference
Coś pięknego
Just pile of useless and ugly junk
If you think that's beautiful I wonder what you're smokin'?

These are not RAT BIKES, more like
STEAMPUNK STYLE.!
R.I.P. BIG DADDY RAT
I think it's an apocalypse motorbike 😀

You think????

Is it rideable or ride able?
Make out your mind
very good idea !

True
This is all show crap for clueless morons
He put a frickin victor in it.....
Well... Just because you can build something it doesn't mean that you actually should!
---- just because you can doesn't mean one should
Absolute death traps 🤣
If ya don't get it, you don't get it.
Somewhere there's a Chevy 384/409 missing it's valve covers.
kinda love the steampunk look as a whole but all these bikes look completely unridable! and all like they was a built by the same bloke!
neskutečná přestavba,gratuluji.....................czech republic route 66
guy at 5:05 stole my chain , tractor seat and one of my Jeep tires
At 3:20, it is one of the most impressing rat bikes I`ve ever seen, but please, fix the headlight, pretty please.
