I own two Eastman solid body electrics. The craftmanship and attention to detail are exceptional. Watching how Eastman hand-builds instruments in these videos is a thing of beauty.

I love watching varnish get applied to instruments.

I wish someone would send me a little red envelope with enough money inside for a LH Hollow body, truly a thing of beauty. Please could you send a brother in a foreign land a left-handed one to play. If only?

Nice propaganda, just as expected from a dictatorship. Sadly, most Eastman guitars are made in Chinese factories under dreadful conditions for many young workers, if you ever saw how they are treated you would never include an Eastman in your review again. Do your own research before buying an instrument because someone paid a price so you can get a bargain and if that doesn't make you feel awful playing it you need to question your humanity.

When did you visit Eastman in China?

All Eastman instruments are made in China. The factory looks OK to me.

I play a top of the line Eastman mandolin and it holds up against US builders like Collings that charge double to triple the price. Same appointments, quality of build, hand carving, voicing and tap toning, attention to detail in the finish. They are extremely high quality, and not the product of a mass production line. There is quite a bit of prejudice in how China, its manufacturers, and its products are viewed from a US perspective.
