My Fridays are immeasurably better when they start with a Smith & Sniff episode. My tea and Shreddies taste that much sweeter. Thank you both.
Steady on chaps!...... that was almost a car review!.....Although always a great start to my Friday’s....
Literally one of the most underrated UA-cam channels. I don’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers. I love it, thanks for the free content 👍
Judging by the slightly nervous look on Richard's face every time he looked over at the speedo Jonny must have been really hoofing it
On the Mitsubishi 3000 GT carcass : “Boil it up for shit soup” 😂😂
I love this channel!
This video is growing on me. Just two blokes driving and discussing a car - and I like that they talk just as much about the car’s negatives as they do positives. Way too many car ‘reviews’ these days are uselessly in your face about how awesome a car is. Probably because the reviewers are too scared about a manufacturer not inviting them back! Well done guys, keep it coming.
Saw a silver SVR earlier in the week, it's so stealth in appearance in that colour it could be the best sleeper ever. And for that reason I want one, that's saying something for someone who despises even the idea of an 'SUV'
Great video as all ways and my favourite car as well, what a great combination. Please keep the videos coming, i look forward to every Friday because of them.
Well done chaps ... I really enjoy these car reviews ..
That Jag sounds amazing!!! Just the right balance between supercharger whine and V8 rumble.
Praise the lord, we're here again! Australia salutes you both.
9:11 for "Mr Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang through the eight-speed ZF".
I’ve just ordered the 1988 edition (thanks to a combo of this and your more recent podcast chat). One last hurrah for ICE. I went for the special edition in part for more subtle ‘amethyst’ rather than Asbo blue, and also because it’s the only way to get the upgraded hifi on an F-pace. Loving the contrast of the genteel Cotswolds and mad exhaust note 😊
I saw the F-Pace SVR yonks ago in a Chassis dyno cell at Whitley. I knew then that this had to be sold to the public.
Aha a review of the F Pace, i like these, just something about them, nice interior on that one you reviewed, cracking car
Excellent, as always
Your comment about the Audi interior being a bit better looking than the actual feel is pretty spot on. I was testing an RS5 sportback today and the paddles felt like cheap toy paddles, in fact I've felt better flappy selectors on cars 1/4 the price. The little switches on the transmission tunnel also looked metal, and made nice clicks, but where just cheap plastic. I was expecting more for the price and from what reviews gushed about. It was a blast to drive and the engine made me forget about that a bit, but it still bugged me enough to wait a weekend before ordering.
Some people have been giving SUV's a hard time. I would not mention any names (Chris Harris). The one unwritten reason many people drive these is the fact that parents and grandparents find it a lot easier to get in and out of and sit in. We all love estates, but we just cant look forward to a jouney with an uncomfortable older relative. I have even got friends with bad backs who have been forced to buy SUV's.
This is true, I am also 6’7”, and as much as like Mr Harris, he clearly isn’t. With me and some family in my Citroen Picasso it is quite tight for space. This is why I am looking at an SUV for my next car.
I agree, I am just trading in my 98 Jag, people with restricted mobility found it a challenge getting in and out. Would have loved an XFR, but they have not made them for a while, and my wife said we are getting older and she prefers the SUV style for the height of it. The other reason she wants an SUV is the load carrying, so she has finally persuaded me get rid of my old workhorse van so she can have the double garage to herself. So I am getting a nice silver SVR. Hope they are wrong about the depreciation, but I guess it won't matter if it lasts as well as my old XJ which I drove for 20 years. I just HAD to get a big V8 before they are banned! Don't want a six or a twin turbo 4 litre. There is no replacement for displacement, and no turbo lag with a supercharger. Can't wait for the SVR to be delivered.
really enjoying the content.
Love the show. Just want this to be electric. F Pace is bigger than the ipace.
🎵 All over you, -electric- *pleasantly* blue 🎵
My abiding memory of the F-Pace was following the first one I'd seen on the road & admiring it's good looks, to then notice that you could see writing on the exhaust box through the rear valance.
Maybe it was a preproduction car?
I'd hope so because for the money I'd expect better attention to detail.
should get these on spotify etc.
wondered why there was a close-up of Mr Smith's gipping watch - then remembered the sponsor! a small price to pay keep up the good work
Tim D they are truly hideous, there seems to be a lot of car you tubers sponsored by makers of hideous watches.
More reviews please gentlemen
Hey kids don't forget Loud Pipes Saves Lives!!
Why is Richard’s face - and only Richard’s face - in low res? 🧐
Broadsword 66 It isn’t - that’s his real boat race.
It’s true. I have a low res face.
Cheers chaps, nice review. :)
I live in Evesham and find it slightly distracting spotting local landmarks as you drive around the Vale. It looks like you enjoyed the sandwiches at the Lygon Arms though.
I agree, the F Pace is the best looking sporty SUV
Richards' knees are almost in the firewall. Is it short of room in the front?
The Range Rover SV Coupe was going to be 999 units, at £250k each.
the placement of the windows switches comes from Range Rover... And it makes no sense. Best placement is between the seats then in the armrest in the doors. On top of the doors is so tupid.
Where were your snacks and meal break review 😂
Seriously loved the F-Pace, but can I buy it without the awful rear tints in that Pleasant Blue / Swedish Racing Green 🚙
Lunch in the F-Pace (with a slight twist) coming next week. Probably. Also, the tints are an option, thankfully. Richard
Porter was bit hard to hear in parts of this one. Different mic setup ?
I'd rather have an XJ40 2.9. Manual. With cloth trim. But I'm not the target market.
Ben Day Great choice. A mate’s Dad had a cheap ex Cop one of those.
Nice review. My only complaint - who at LRJ thought a grandfather clock tick-tock for a turn signal was a good idea?
Julian Earl It reminds me of a care home too.
CARPERVERT ha! Exactly
They've been doing this old clock tick-tock since the first XF. It's weird.
Ha love the Charger T-shirt whilst cruising in a Jaaag :) I must say I love the SVR F type despite all the reasons to abhor the SUV trend it smashes its brief with tally ho machismo - great video 👌
Malcolm Scott what Reasons? I don’t own one but I can see why they are so popular.
Boot never seems too line up on these
8:07 marks the most hilariously punch in the face product placement yet. Or was it just a sneak look at the cruise control functions?
Snowy All intentional.
@@TheLateBrakeShow Love it Jonny, If you are gonna do it, do it with panache!
nice
Very high road noise
This isnt the first time ive heard about jaguar reengineering a car completely to fit an engine in it. Why the hell wouldnt they just engineer all platforms to fit all current engines to begin with. Shitty piecemeal approaches always cost more in the long run.
iirc Gopro have a feature which can digitally remove the fish eye effect. Interesting bash with the 360 cam (are you going to release the full 360 video?)
That Suv, I know we shouldn't but that is an absolute machine. It's against the laws of nature for a thing of that size to move that quickly
It's a lovely car, but, it's too much like my XE and I would expect the F-Pace SVR being a step up in quality
I really hope the interior improves with the facelift - AND that Jag keeps this V8 in the facelifted car.
13:31
How loud is that indicator?
Does it have the stupid full sized spare tyre bulge?
Love your content and now the "BUT". The particular cars are irrelevant, what makes it work is the chemistry between the two of you and the chat, might I suggest body mikes especially in rorty cars such as this the Porker and the Alpine, you chaps are far more interesting than car noise.
Sound was definately not great today - really struggled in placed to hear the dialogue which was frustrating
hashtag bring back the beard
Robert Dunsmore It’s almost back. Just needed a clean break for a few weeks.
Could you get a new Pug 508 on for a video? Would like to hear your thoughts on it
Logan Jones Good call. I want to drive the 508 SW
Still prefer the iPace.
Tom De Mulder it looks better but weighs more than the moon.
I guess you are not a petrol head. I fell in love with V8s when I saw a Chevvy Bel Air in Bromsgrove when I was a schoolboy. Also a Jensen Interceptor at that time. Fell head over heels in love with big V8s and I still am at age 66.
Broadway has had much more twattish cars drive through it than this. Cotswolds has a good amount of those.
The Velar imo is the most beautiful SUV of current times.
