This is the best song I have ever heard in a video game. I haven't played WoW in over a decade, but I still come on UA-cam to listen to this song occasionally.
1:53 I remember fighting the Iron Colossus at level 77, no jormungr, and this song came on... It felt like I was fighting to save the world, and that my actions would keep the Lich King from taking over. I could imagine the talking to the quest giver afterwards, him saying "You... That's the most courageous thing I've ever seen!" Probably my favorite WoW memory of all time.
I think the choral part at 1:55 is supposed to represent the tragedy that befell Ulduar with Yogg Saron corrupting Loken, which led to tricking Thorim (IN THE MOUNTAINS lol) to betraying the Sons of Hodir. That part of the SoH questline where Thorim meets King Jokkum in Thunderfall to apologize is so fitting for this part. It's been so long, yet I still remember that part. God I miss that questline! ._.
I didn't level in Storm Peaks while i was playing my first ever character in wrath. It was a boomkin. however, i was flying over the zone to do the quests in the area, and this song came on and gave me goosebumps. It created a sense of awe that I would fly over the zone on purpose just to listen to....
Of all the zones in Wrath, I think Storm Peaks are very likely my favorite. And after that in descending order, Borean Tundra, Sholazar Basin, Dragonblight, New Hearthglen (which I suppose is more of a subzone), Grizzly Hills (gotta love that fiddle), Zul'Drak, Howling Fjord, Dalaran, and lastly Icecrown. (No, Crystalsong does not count as a zone, theres nothing to do but fish and run and swim)

This song is some kind of masterpiece, gives me chills at 1:50
Never forget this epic soundtrack... This melody 1:50 ... WARCRAFT was never "just a game".
Pure fantasy music.
3:02 is the best part
1,45 to 2,49 : Angels in Wow ❤️
1:52 Core memory unlocked: Flying casually through Storm Peaks looking for the TLPD or heading to Ulduar. 😊
that melody and the flute melody in "Forged in Blood" get me every time
This is a wonderful track, the feel of wonder in the song fits the zone perfectly.

2021 - the nostalgia of this music punctuates the mourning of a fallen game
Masterpiece

Back when wow was still worth playing
Absolute best Soundtrack of the Game. Wrath was when it was real.

At the time you wrote this, we were probably both running around Northrend without a care in the world. Been so long :(
@@mattshaffer8460 Damn, this comment hit me hard. 😥
Was always more of a Howling Fjord person myself. Felt more... fantasy-ish than Borean Tundra. Probably because no oil fields.
I was there 3000 years ago...
I was there young blizzard developer. Before you were born, i played.
every time i listen to this i have to fight the urge to resub
