She seems uncomfortable in the interview. She seems shy, not very charismatic, and kind of weird. She doesn't need to be good at public relations to be an amazing actor (and I do think she is), but you do need the PR to get more notoriety, and then get bigger and better roles.
Undeniably, the eyes and face help, but she wouldn't be where she is without real talent.

I had serious doubts about Amanda playing Elizabeth Holmes, because Amanda is a lot shorter than Holmes and doesn't have a deep voice. I was preparing to have a good laugh. But as I started watching The Drop Out, Amanda's performance slowly drew me in. By the third episode, I forgot all about the height differential, and I could tell Amanda was channeling something deeper about Holmes. She had me mesmerized by her acting. Amanda crushed this role.
Well Elizabeth doesn't have a deep voice either, her normal voice is quite high pitched. Anyone can speak in a deep voice if they make a big effort and that's what Holmes did and what Amanda did in the series.

Same, it pulled me in and really made me cringe and dislike a lot of the little noticeably off tendencies she had, to the point where I found myself really disliking her as Elizabeth because she adopted the role and character soo well. Had to reel back for a minute and remember she’s acting!

She was amazing as Elizabeth Holmes. It's like she literally became a different person, you don't see Amanda be like "look at me I'm an actress, yay!" She really dissapear to this role. I can't believe she managed to nailed the deep voice very well. Great actress, hopefully she could secure her very first Emmy nom thanks to The Dropout

Amanda did not come out of nowhere. She’s played iconic roles in mean girls, Mamma Mia, Jennifer’s body, dear John, les Mis, etc… she has an incredible talent as an actress. I feel like it would be better to say she’s becoming more widely known after her role in dropout, although she already has quite a large fan base.

People known her for playing such a likeable light-hearted character for the most part in her career then suddenly unexpectedly played a darker role in this case a disgrace person very well. It's like Craig Mazin, a screenwriter who wrote tons of bad spoof movies then suddenly changed his career to writing HBO's Chernobyl that won him an Emmy. It's just a simple transition for an actor to take more risk and do different roles just to show their range a lot more. Are you understanding what I'm saying. Like this is an unexpected role that I would never thought Amanda could actually play it very well. Kinda liked comedians who played serious dramatic roles very well surprisingly

She's talented, I love seeing her do this type of role just to showcase more of her range as an actress. This is her taking the next level as an actress, I admire her for taking risk in this. This is easily one of, if not her best performance to date because it's a complex role that she played it very well
@Timothy Brakson reread your first comment and that might help you understand how I read it, which seems like you said Amanda came out of nowhere. We communicated and now should both understand haha. But yeah she was really good in the dropout. Another role I really love that was a little different compared to her other was Things Heard & Seen on Netflix, a little darker and a horror thriller.

THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD. The Elizabeth Holmes story itself is so complicated and confusing and the series uncover those confusion + Amanda is so into the character. She even got the deep voice. Really recommend everyone to watch this series 👏👍

It was excellent. Another channel has a “what they got right and wrong” about The Dropout and only two items got labeled both “right and wrong”. They had to do with two specific characters that were composites that included the real people and that when “Brendan” sent out the email eulogy of Ian, he didn’t walk that day, he was actually fired by Sunny a couple of months later. That was it out of the top 10 things plus the 3 or 4 honorable mentions. Incredible! Even Amanda’s recreations of the depositions were creepy in their accuracy.
She did a great job playing Elizabeth Holmes. The Dropout is fascinating.

She was incredible in the Drop Out. Her beauty is astounding. “Mesmerizing” is the perfect word. I thought holding the voice, the jaw, the posture, all of the physical aspects seemed painful to keep up for so long.

She did such a great job on The Dropout. She is, indeed, a character actor when given the chance. I hope she gets to play more characters that make her stretch like this did.
I really did not know much about Elizabeth Holmes or her company but wow after researching who she is and watching the creepy interviews of her, all I can say is that this is a phenomenal performance by Amanda. The way she makes the audience feel awkward just watching her portrayal of Elizabeth is absolutely captivating and I really hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

Just watched the Drop Out. Honestly they could not have cast the role of Elizabeth Holmes any better. I have never seen Amanda in anything previously, but she's a phenomenal actress. I was so drawn in to the series from the first episode, so much so I binged the whole thing. Stellar performance by all cast, just a shame it came to an end. Brilliant!

I've been so invested in the theronos story, read the books, listened to every single John carreyrou UA-cam video and podcast, Tyler Shultz's podcast.. it's such an intriguing story. Couldn't wait for this mini series to drop and it didn't disappoint, few bits of artistic license but all in all a brilliant series. She did amazing as Elizabeth and the chap who played Sunny was fantastic. 10/10
You should read the Carreyrou's book Bad blood. I listened to it on audio, it was amazing. 10/10 would listen to it in a day, and again

I’m 14 and my mum let me watch one episode of The Dropout! I only wanted to watch it because of Amanda Seyfried! She’s my favourite actress ever!!
She did an incredible job. This was the first time I’ve seen her in a film or series and didn’t like her. She did such an incredible job of really taking Elizabeth on. She was creepy, awkward, annoying, crazy. She was brilliant.

If a film about Madonna ever came out, Amanda Seyfried could totally play her.
They are planning a Madonna biopic but I think they want to go for a younger 20 something actress like Florence pugh or Julia Garner from Ozark and Anna Delvey or Jodie Comer, etc. Amanda might be a little too old at 36 for what they are going for in the biopic and Madonna herself is actively going to be involved in that casting process.
Madonna is co-writing and reportedly directing her own biopic but judging by the way the gruelling auditions have been going the only actress Madonna will accept to play Madonna is probably... Madonna with CGI. 😂

At 6:07 I love how excited Jimmy was when she did the voice; Jimmy's reaction is exactly the reaction I would have done and have done when someone done something and nailed it, sometimes in the moment I forget myself and reach out and touch the person because it was so good.

Ive read the book x3 and seen the doc and the show really took me a while to adjust too because it humanizes Holmes in many ways and I wasnt used to that POV....but the scene where she transforms and owns the deep voice was quite moving and beautifully performed! I just wish the story wasnt true.
