  • When you submit your records into an aligner company such as align, a technician will help to set the case up according to your guidelines. They are NOT orthodontists and it is very rare that we can simply hit approve and expect a good result. It takes a lot of communication between the orthodontist and technician. Many times the orthodontist has to move the teeth on their own. This video gives you an overview of this process.

I just don’t think I can do it. My teeth are crooked as heck but don’t think I can handle the trays for a year +.

I wore braces for 3 years and my cross bite was fixed, however, I ended up with overjet and I am hitting only the front upper teeth. A disaster..

Depending on your age, you may have experienced some late mandibular growth. That is more common in males as they grow until the age of 21. When we get braces off at a young age, sometimes our jaws grow forward and cause this. Ask you orthodontist if there is anything that can be done. You should have very light contacts on your front teeth if you want them to last!

When you work with a patient on their clinicheck and make changes, Invisalign has to approve it again? Does this take a long time going back and forth?

From the time we send in the records we usually schedule to have the trays 6 weeks later. This 6 weeks accounts for the time that is needed for me to communicate back and forth with the tech as well as the time to manufacture and ship it to us. Does that make sense?

@@lifetimeorthodontics5520Hi doc - I recently got my trays - and the clincheck video suggests there are 23 stages - does that mean there are 23 trays in all? plus refinements?

Dear doctor, I am orthodontist and I want to attend coursework about the Invisalign. Do you have plans to do a coursework in the future?

Hey doc! I don't give any courses except for those to the local dentist and hygienist. I learned a lot from the Aligner Fellowship course though! I would highly recommend taking that. Those guys are some of the aligner pioneers.
