@@hairlinedissolver8739 If I remember right, that comment from Kevin came from the Ultimate Alien episode "The Ultimate Sacrifice" when he is fighting the Galvanic Mechamorph outside of Azmuth's building and trying to convince the Mechamorph to let him see Azmuth to save Ben. Honestly...I'm surprised with myself for remembering all of that.

@@Succatag67789 Yeah , as there's no wildmutt in alien force. I think he is talking about the episode in which Ben transforms into chameleon for first time
Yea I kinda hate paradox for making the reboot a thing but I really appreciate the effort and passion that goes into the later seasons of the reboot and especially the specials like the finale alien x ticntion was incredible
Can't exctly blame you. He is a ripoff. Waterhazard has been used for propulsion and the different strength of the water blasts are difficult to gauge since the reboot is a lot more cartoonish than UA. And water constructs just seem like a natural evolution of his powers. Overflow is just bootleg Waterhazard.
Yeah, to be frank I don’t fully agree with Hurshie’s philosophy on the alien designs. Like, yeah, different aliens can have similar powers, but...Water Hazard and Overflow are like, very similar in appearance as well, and Overflow is arguably a superior version to Water Hazard, whereas Frankenstrike and Buzzshock have electrokinetic abilities, but they differ drastically in appearance. Kinda makes you wonder why they didn’t just call him Water Hazard and make him an Orishan, but reboot how they look and function like how they did with Stinkfly.
i agree with almost everything but i MUCH prefer old stinkfly to new stinkfly, i miss the more animal like aliens. now they're almost all humanoid. also reboot grandpa max is much worse in my onion.

Unpopular opinion: I genuinely kind of like purple Upgrade. Don't get me wrong, I *don't* think the original is garbage, in fact it's literally my colorscheme, but I just think the new one looks cool. Also there were A LOT of aliens with clothes that were black and green or were almost completely green. So this was kind of a breath of fresh air.
That's what I liked about the reboot, not everything was green. OV really liked making EVERYTHING green, but the reboot makes the aliens have different color palettes while still being recognizable, minus stinkfly.
Ghostfreak Stickfly wildmut ripjaws wildvine upgrade are my favorites but ghostfreak ripjaws wildmutt ghostfreak gone and wildvine upgrade and stinkfly doesn’t seems cool anymore

@@pjp7316 they are same. There is only 2 differences. One: Echo can scream Two: if one ditto dies, all other dies. Ditto was way more interesting both design AND function wise. Echo echo would be better if its ultimate form was its standart form. Just like swampfire, echoecho is definetly an updated version of a character. I dont like swampfire neither. Its just a fusion of the 2 different aliens from ben 10 original.
I find it interesting how the reboot Ben is at least slightly smarter than the other bens, he was the only one who thought of using galvanic mechamorph on the Omnitrix
He's also the only version of Ben to legitimately consider Greymatter a perfectly viable alien in any situation he's in while every other Ben treat Greymatter like an inconvenience that needs to be overcome.
@anthonyrodriguez8788 Tbf. It's probably not easy trying to maneuver around as a tiny alien. Plus, greymatter doesn't have any special abilities. When Alien Force came out, I saw Echo Echo as like the improved grey matter.
I understand how the reboot is pretty good and why people like it but the show and no matter how much I watch it, I can't enjoy the art and story. For me the original was the best.
Are you trying to get back on the reboot now since we now have ghostfreak eyeguy Benwolf ripjaws azmuth and way big all of them are the original designs and season 5 will be about timeline travel so maybe we can see the original Ben Tennyson?
I never thought of this. Well, any multiple episode show has filler episodes, but when they hit their story episodes, that's the time we have to analyze whether or not it's good. The Reboot started out pretty poorly, but over these 2 additional seasons, it DID develop a pretty great story, and the unique twist of certain characters and stories does give the reboot a slightly darker tone in terms of story and makes it really enjoyable. And I completely agree with you, just because WE, the oldest Ben 10 fans don't approve of it so much because we did in fact grow up with a different Ben 10, we can still say the new Ben 10 fans, that are kids just like most of us were when we started watching Ben 10 back in the day, will get a good show to watch and a great story to follow, just like we had. The reboot is more childish, true, and has a way more comical approach, but just because it's different with what we were used to, it doesn't necessarily mean it's worse than the original. The show is enjoyable by any audience, especially after season 2, the toy line is selling better than the original one and is more relevant to the show, the lore is unfolded nicely. The reboot is not as bad as we thought it would be, it's only the fact that, as humans, once growing up with something, getting used to it, it's hard to give up on that. Our Ben 10 lives through our memories. We just have to perceive the show from an objective view-point and be glad that this generation of kid got a good Ben 10 to watch nonetheless.
@@javontetreault6713 Saying it's childish was literally debunked in the video. All using that argument does is display immaturity in the person saying it.
Jar of Pickles kk dude I think you need to unclench alittle and step down off that high horse. Also he didn’t call it childish, he said it was kiddy. Which he could just mean the animation is much more pointed towards kids. If you ask me it’s a little immature to get clearly triggered at someone and then tell them to grow up purely for staying something. Don’t ya think🤨
Yeah to say "it's like comparing buzzshock to Frankenstrike" is BS in my opinion overflow really only has one thing that's different and it's more of an addition then a change Whereas the buzzshock is literal electricity and doesn't even have to have a tangible form unlike the Frankenstrike
I didn't like the reboot at first, but I've come around to liking it over time. It did a lot of good things, like changing Ben and Gwen's character interactions to be more positive, giving the aliens their own distinct transformations, removing the whole secret identity idea, and balancing Vilgax's character to where he's more of an antagonist but not any less of a villain.
@-- BRO WHAT DO YOU THINK A CARTOON MADE FOR CHILDREN WOULD DO? ADD BENS HEART GETTING RIPPED OUT? YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT THEY CARED ENOUGH TO NOT GIVE UP ON BEN10 CUZ THE TEEN TITANS GO REBOOT ISN'T EVEN MADE BY THE PEOPLE THAT MADE THE ORIGINAL ONE.!
@@Ihatedumbasses why would Ben's heart be ripped out? Thats gorey not mature lol. Mature meaning older audiences can pick up hints and enjoy watching the show with the kids. Like the OG Ben 10 did older audiences could enjoy the show. Mature is not limited to blind violence
The original was not made for kids. Well, maybe the first series does. If it's a cartoon and there's no strong language or major violence that doesn't mean it's for kids.
@daseanharris9280 That's actually how I discovered Ben 10. I watched the reboot, liked it, and watched all the other series and liked those too. It does a good job of introducing new people to the other shows imo.
thats cause they went retarded and think thats what kids want while not realizing that the original ben 10 was watched by kids also and therefore that design was perfect. fucking hell they went from 8-10 year old viewers to 4-5 year kids with that stupid and shameless artstyle + unfunny jokes
i had high hopes about it even when i was 6/7 y.o. when i saw ken10 episode of original series i dreamed about it but it seems like not everyone likes ben 10 as much as we do so they do what they have to do even if its just breaking my soul into 73827472929 pieces
Okay, yes, the series has had some good changes. The comedy can be fun with new villains like the Steam mechanic he's fun. I just have some grievances. 1) The first episode lands us in the middle of the journey which, whilst trying to be its own continuity, makes it feel like you have to have seen the original to know what's going on. 2) Whilst the designs are cleaner, it does feel more like the "onesie" or battle outfit type of transformation with aliens like Stinkfly becoming humanoid and Wildmutt being out of the picture entirely. The art is nice with more dimensions and stuff but it is similar to the Super alien buddies that was a parody within the OG show which causes jokes to pop up 3)Whilst there is a more cohesive family unit now between Ben, Gwen and Max, sometimes Gwen and Ben are a bit too similar in personality at times making them feel more like twins than cousins and often Max is the character that hangs on. 4) Locking the Omnitrix to 10 aliens at a time, Not much of a fan on this initial thing, especially if aliens are cycled through or destroyed like Upgrade. Always thought the "start from 10 and gain more as you go" idea was better since it made the omnitrix more like the translator it was supposed to be rather than a battling device.
I agree with everything you said. Regarding #4, that's the main reason I haven't started watching the reboot. It's just a different concept to me since I've watched the original set of series for the cartoon franchise. At times, I felt how Ben felt whenever he got new alien forms to use, which was excitement, curiosity, and empowerment. It made Ben himself unpredictable because he gained more than 10 alien forms throughout the original continuity. Even though the original continuity didn't make use of every alien form in a balanced manner (except Omniverse which tried to add flavor to the transformations), the continuity still got the point across that the Omnitrix is a device that allows its user access to basically every known living life form out there in the omniverse. The reboot bummed me out when I found out that the writers were getting rid of alien forms to introduce new ones, and I get that the reboot is its own continuity, but it is pretty much their way of telling their audience that the Omnitrix is nerfed compared to the original. This concept of losing and gaining aliens also makes the aliens themselves feel like mindless beings that hold no sentimental value, as the show goes on with Ben gaining new transformations and treating the device like a toy. P.S. The fact that Stinkly now looks like a guy in a Big Chill costume also drives me away from watching the reboot.
Psykotik_3637 I agree with u 100% they just didn’t think things threw when new aliens such as shock rock or humongosaur or even rath got introduced there was always an alien who had to take the fall such as upgrade to sacrifice himself for getting newly added dna of shockrock and a possible shockrock being deleted due to his species coming in to start an invasion with a new one like slapback or the other 2 there could be something rong with theirs and could potentially lead to their sacrifice in the future
it also kinda weakens the diea of it being some sort of superweapon since it has a lot of limitations and no real secrets to unlock. And the focus on the comedy does mean we don't get too amny serious moments or scary villains (aside from Vilgax, who seems to be theone thing the show got right as far as I know), and yeah wile the relationship with ben and gwen has changed, it does mean they lack any differences as they are just the same character (compared to the original whre gwen was at least the smarter of the two). and Max was like the BEST character in the show, and hearing people say he gets to do nothing is just really lame. and lets face, the focus on comedy is just a weakness of cartoon network distancing itself from action cartoons for no reason.
@@onepieceking1770 Yeah, I initially thought that Shockrock is going to be locked away after innervasion. But he stayed, despite not giving the Omni-enchancements to the aliens anymore.
The funny thing about Gax is that Original Series Ben said that he would make an awesome Vilgax, if he knew that the Omnitrix could examine DNA, now it's a reality. With Yuri Lowenthal voicing him as well.
I really like on how the each couple of seasons that the omnitrix changes designs and the aliens, that the first upgrade was the charged aliens after upgrade sacrificed himself.
I will admit that I am a fan of the original Ben 10. However, seeing you all list out the Reboot's strengths has me intrigued. I might check it out for myself. Thank you.
The reboot has one huge glaring issue that for some reason still hasn't fixed; still not giving Gwen powers. It only took 2 seasons in the original show for her character to really shine. The reboot? Nothing.
@No.1 Spidey-Fan Not true. There are tons of times in multiple shows, not just in Ben 10, where regular humans fought beings (aliens, gods, etc) much more powerful than them.
@No.1 Spidey-Fan yeah not to mention even before Max started pulling out his plumber Tech and Gwen got her powers they still helped in reasonable ways not in Gag ways Which like they said in the video this is aimed towards a different audience so it's to be expected but still kind of whack and not my cup of tea
I genuinely think gwen is a better character as a whole in the reboot, but i do think she should have had more significance in fights, wether giving her actual magic or just something else.
Technically the OG Ben10 is still out there if we view this Reboot as another universe isolated from the prime universe. All in all this is still a decent show :)
The one thing that I noticed that other people maybe didn’t notice in this reboot that Gwen and Ben’s relationship as cousins are way more better than the original sure I’d still like to see them argue it’s still nice that their bond is stronger on this reboot
@@LostSoulSilver Um, the vid wasn't talking about how good the reboot was, it was actually saying that the reboot is so fricking horrible that the original is now a masterpiece compared to the reboot.
I'm sorry but Ben10 has officially lost me. I grew up on the OG and remember Alien Force coming out rather fondly as well and actually was able to keep up with UA and after a while I found out OV had was on Hulu and spent a month binging it. None of them were flawless by any means but Reboot (while I no longer find it blasphemous) still doesn't shake off that "Ben 10 LITE" vibe. They turned Kevin from an interesting upbringing and a better example of Absorbing Man's power-set into... store brand Albedo from OV. If it ever gets a more interesting "sequel-series" I might look into it more but rn I can't really watch it without cringing the entire time.
If you try to watch it without thinking it is the OG Ben 10, and give it credit as its own show, then you will like it. Maybe it's set in a parallel universe?
That’s wat I felt too 😓 Kevin had his story told in omniverse but yet as the reboot it’s as if he didn’t have powers to begin with thus making Kevin turn into the albedo that we know in the ultimate alien series
Game Insane well said. And I honestly don't think defending the series is going to do anybody any favors and still only encourage Cartoon Network to create shitty rebranding so their original shows like Teen Titans Go.
@@hankunis2051 no duh. In OV Albedo had ultimates while Ben had the upgraded Omnitrix. Reboot Kevin has his “home made” omnitrix that upgrades his aliens with armor (makes them more powerful but trickier to use precisely… kinda the same train of reasoning that made Azmuth call the ultimatrix stupid)
Maybe *"Top 5 things the reboot does better"* should be the title instead of the current title of "why the reboot is better than the original." Or maybe it's just me. Do what you like. I am interested in watching the reboot now.
I like how they took Humongousaur’s design and went, “He’s a dinosaur, so where the hell are all the spikes?” Which is why the reboot has the best humongousaur design in my eyes. The original kinda looked like an overgrown basilisk, and Omniverse gave him shorts and a weird toga thing for some reason.
No I honestly think that if that were the case, they would have addressed it or at least made a comic or something showing it as a universe among the others. I just think the events are too different, plus since the original ben was "Ben Prime" it doesn't make for a good protagonist to not have the main version, the prime. Would you rather follow Flash Prime or barry from earth 2. Plus post crisis, I know that the multiverse still exists in that example, but since ben 10 reboot hasn't addressed the multiverse, and is more simple than the others, I feel like it might just not exist
That is an amazing way of looking at it. If only the TTG writers had thought of something like that to quell the more hateful OG Teen Titans fans. I mean, I obviously prefer the OG Titans, but the only primary reason I dislike TTG is because it has a tendency to give bad morals to the younger audience. (For example: Reading is bad, It's okay to be a hoarder slob, etc.)
AM I upset the original universe ended? Yes, but I'm even happier that a new generation will grow up learning about one of my favorite superheroes when I was kid. Who knows maybe they'll check out the original timeline, and learn to appreciate it. Besides Ben stills being a hero in his universe.
I definitely think the Reboot was a step in the right direction for a reintroduction to younger audiences, while being a unique part of the franchise! New aliens, concepts & others that make it stand out!
I’m sorry but I remember when Ben 10 was, despite it being a show for kids of course, was a more mature series with an astablished canon and world building
I wonder if they'll ever explain why Kevin got the blueprints in his dream. Like maybe Albedo did it or Azmuth wanted to test Ben or something. Just some plot-related reason.
Old school design were so cool, modern design are so lazy and seems like bad fanart but with high budget. Realistic aspect made it relatable, fun part of the show at least for me was to have the watch for myself in real life, so when ever he dealt wtih real life issues I could put myself in his shoes. That realizem was not just in since ben became older it was in the original too. The writer did it beautifully in the past series, while I see modern series did some good that doesn't mean it's forgiven.
The thing is things don't need to have lots of realism to have people relate to them. They have to have understandable grounding and the show CAN get that way but sometimes fail. Not everyone will care about weird things that happen around them, some cousins are raised together and act like close nit siblings (I have many people in my family that are raised like siblings and I found out my family is far from the only ones), simplistic doesn't equal lazy all the time. Yes laziness often relates to simplicity but the two aren't interchangable, just related. I hope you inderstand what I ment.
I mean I was a firm Ben 10 reboot hater before this video, but when I took the time to think about it, its a good way to introduce the franchise to younger audiences who wouldn't have been able to handle the older series. When kids are old enough to watch the original series, they already feel comfortable with the characters and theme.
Actually no if you rewatch the episodes it shows that grandpa max can do tech stuff but acting like he cant do it like pushing random buttons and stuff
@Next1179 nope, the idea of no-watch cannonbolt was created during the time they wrote the story for the omniverse episode especially since it made more sense as opposed to the thing just yeeting itself towards ben
Personally I think that if the show continued after the confirmation that Ben was functionality immortal it would just be retardent if that is the right word. I mean no one ever expected Ben to actually die but in TV in general there has to be the chance of death to create a truly compelling story.
Dude you're awesome and everything but let's be honest the original is way better. Edit: Thanks for the 1.8k likes everyone I've never gotten this many before 😃😃😃😃!!! Edit: And this videos intro is badass

@@MrMr-gw8dl I think you didn't get what he meant, he is talking about the time when in the show the universe gets destroyed and Ben makes a new one with alien x, but it isn't the exact same and has some differences. He's trying to say (as a joke) that this reboot is a result of ben making that new universe
What you NEED to be grateful for is that they didn't try and give us another continuation. People always beg for more HTTYD and stuff, but we should be happy its over, a Reboot gives the new generations exposure to the genius without damaging the original
What I've noticed in clips is the mixture of re-using old stories/characters and making brand new ones. Vilgax is similar to Ghostfreak Ben becoming a wrestler as four-arms Transformations form Alien Force onwards Kevin is a mixture of Bens childhood bullies and Albedo Gwen and Ben being turned into toddlers etc The 11 minute time-slot doesn't help too much either. When there's multiple parts, it can flow together, but the episodic parts are so short that it rushes through a lot of things, making character development fly by. This also makes the time-out and recharge times of the Omnitrix seem inconsistent. Sometimes Bens an alien for 30 seconds, other times it's a few minutes, and each time has the watch time-out, not Ben intentionally changing back. I personally don't prefer the alternate humanoid transformations. Wildvine looked like he was a bunch of vines shaped together to form a body and Stinkfly looked like an insect. Now they look more like costumes, which kinda detracts from the vast multitude of aliens in the universe. This also seems to have lead to Rip-jaws, Wildmutt, Ghostfreak, and other aliens that don't look humanoid to be put on the bench. There's also some of the colouring choices in the aliens clothing. Some transformations like Four-arms and Canonbolt have the black and white colour scheme of the OG t-shirt (which flashbacks showed reboot Ben actually wearing), while transformations like Diamondhead have yellow mixed in, which isn't on Bens clothing at all. There's also Upgrade being purple, I don't mind the voice or design, but the random purple is such a shift in a classic and simple design that it can feel like the reboot is trying everything it can to not be labelled as copying the original. There are things I'm interested in though. Having Charmcaster and Morningstar as kids allows for new interpretations of of encounters that wouldn't have been present as teenagers (Also, did anyone else notice Charmcasters real name is a nod to Ultimate Alien? In the original timeline, her name is Hope, and when she fell in love with Morningstar, she told him this. But he didn't care about her, just her power, so when she asked him what her name was, he guessed "Heather"). The dynamic between characters are great, although Grandpa Max could be more present. There could have been an interesting contrast between Max and Vilgax, with Max as the friendly and positive mentor, while Vilgax is the more harsh and negative mentor. Kevins watch seems to be an improvement on the presentation of Albedo, instead of having the same aliens with a different colour scheme, they add the characters personality to the designs. I'm very interested in the stories and presentation, some choices don't resonate too much with me, but the show isn't just trying to be different from its predecessors, it's also trying to improve on the aspects that worked for each series.
This is a very interesting interpretation and I have to agree with you. I love Ben 10 since I was a kid. And I feel like this reboot could have potential but the way they humanised the aliens like Stinkfly and Wildvine made think twice. They are aliens, but they made them look like costumes.
My only real issues with the reboot is that maybe they could worked on the sound effects more, maybe give stinkfly his stinger and two pairs of legs back to make him more mantis like to help with the insect like alien vibe, and maybe they could have made it so that after the season two finale upgrade returned, besides those somewhat minor details, I genuinely love this show and think it’s awesome.
@Naquin Green idk 🤷♂️ I just randomly liked season 3-4 Prob because TTG and PPG Are the Ones taking over the Schedule And maybe i just like Ben 10 since childhood and i just love ben 10 and never hate it (yes i like omniverse)
@Naquin Green even tho ur not talking to me i love season 3-4 Because More Villains More Action The Last 2 episodes of Season 3 was great Humungousaur I like the Omni-Kix Designs (Even tho they are like Ulitmate Form Rip-offs) Even More action (Season 4) Humungousaur They Travel Around the World (Which is a Good Approach for Settings) (Yes the og series did that too except they are only in the U.S.) (I think) Jetray Thats prob it
The thing is, even in recent times we have seen that people can make shows that are on places like Cartoon Network and that are cartoons that younger kids can enjoy, while still having them be enjoyable to older audiences and fans. The original Ben 10 series did have many young fans, they could enjoy the interesting transformations and cool battles, while older audiences could enjoy the deeper lore and interesting mechanics. You praised the show for not having people question Ben's transformations, and for it not holding as much to a realistic feel, while I see that as a large negative for the show, since things like Ben having to hide his transformations or deal with the public gave some very interesting scenarios and concepts for people to enjoy, while not really interfering with the transformations and battles being cool and entertaining. Like I said earlier, there are many cartoons that are on kids channels and that have many young fans that also have more interesting and deeper plots for older fans to enjoy. Look at shows like Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Star vs The Forces of Evil, and more. Those shows are in theory aimed for kids and younger audiences but have many interesting and deeper elements for older fans to enjoy and look closer at. And while the art style isn't necessarily objectively bad, it is clearly aimed at a much younger audience and is quite a slap in the face for the many long-time fans that enjoyed the previous art styles. Things like the simpler art style does allow them to do more transformations with more work towards them, and while if those transformations were recreated in one of the older, more detailed, art styles it would be very impressive and interesting, with the simplified art style it doesn't actually look as impressive since there is less actual transformation to see. I have to wonder about the amount of time and effort needed for one of the amazing transformations from the original versus one of the reboot transformations. I have practically no doubt that with the time and effort for one original transformation they could make a large number of transformations for the new show, which is likely why there are more of them. The lack of realism lets them more freely allow Ben to do whatever they want him to do for a specific situation or episode without worrying about things like his identity, but things like that were what made each episode more interesting. Ben's identity could be revealed to the public and the show could go on in an interesting direction, which meant that there were actual stakes with his identity being kept hidden, while without the deeper things like that there isn't much actual variance or stakes in any encounter, since they don't have that medium downside of his identity being revealed to leverage, and the younger focus of the show means that they probably won't have him lose an actual battle. Overall, with this reboot, they removed many of the most interesting elements of the originals, the ones that allowed the "kids cartoon" to be interesting to a much larger audience, and while this gives them more freedom it also removes much of the actual impact of any event and much of the shows interesting depth. They aimed for a younger audience, and while they seem to have managed to get one, they also removed what made the show great for it's older fans. They went the much simpler and easier route with the show, shaving it down to its simpler core that attracted, and still does attract, younger kids, while removing the things that widened the audience in what feels like an effort to make the show much easier to make due to it's simplicity and its much less complex art style. Also, the toy line being high quality and being used in the show, with each season adding a gimmick that can make a new line of toys doesn't add anything to the quality of the show itself, and just goes to further show how it is aimed to get money from toys with each new idea or gimmick, rather than to actually add anything to the world or show itself. You even complained in a previous video about the slime thing from one of the older shows that allowed Ben's aliens to use weapons based on other aliens, which was clearly added just to make and sell more toys, and now you are praising this new show for seemingly designing the mechanics of each season using that mindset.
Jesus bruh calm down this might be the longest comment I’ve ever seen and I didn’t read it (because it’s way too long) but I know what you think and I disagree
Mo1 Mo1 that’s such a stupid mindset, if you haven’t read it you don’t know what he’s saying, and if you haven’t even read it, why reply telling him you haven’t done so? That makes no sence to me
I started with the reboot, then found out about the rest. I understand the backlash that the reboot gets, but it really is a good show. It's just not for everyone.
Gwen & Ben are too Buddy Buddy in my option > There are no aliens just humanoid monsters * Everything looks Gummy > Even though Vilgax is an improvement he is basically Za Scare > The Reboot is similar to Ninjago/G1 Transformers, The Plot doesn’t matter as long as toys are sold > The Reboot basically over uses “The Rule of Cool”, Logic needs to be applied * The Reboot has basically become Ultimate Spider-Man
What are you talking, Vilgax legit lost in first appearance, His next appearance he gets beaten by B-list villains, The original Vilgax was better off isolated and vengeful, If you actually watch the original series he only saw Ben as an inconvenience but being sent to the null void by Ben caused him to be vengeful of the Boy, Also he was never actually beaten by Ben in a one-on-one fight
He actually did in War of the worlds, part 2 but that was because of a desu ex machina when Diamondhead suddenly return from the remains of Vengeance of Vilgax, The final battle where Ben took Albedo's Ultimatrix and turn into Ultimate Swampfire and beat him, and Ben 10 ultimate alien finale "The Ultimate Enemy, part 2" where Ben stab Vilagx with Ascalon. I could count that one Omniverse episode but that wasn't technically a one-on-one fight.
Retro Gamer I was talking about the OS Vilgax, In Alien Force Vilgax was ruined, Having him lose to Diamondhead was only because the script demanded it, It was an okay idea because they probably wanted Vilgax to rely less on brute strength and more on clever schemes but the Ultimate forms were supposed to represent a moment where Ben could finally match up to Vilgax in power which contradicts the fact that he beat him
@@dude7266 I don't know I see the AF fight as a testament to Ben's knowledge over the original aliens since while he did learned about the new aliens he unlocked like Swampfire, Spidermonkey, and so on, they were still new to him and didn't know everything they could do and he did practice a lot with Diamondhead and pretty much every other alien from the first series as we seen with Fourarms, Cannonbolt, and Heatblast.. Though worse come to worse, Ben would of successfully turn into Waybig and repeat Secret of the Omnitrix. And I can't really explain that last one other thing they needed an excuse for Ben to use the ultimate feature on the Ultimatrix. Than again, the 3rd season in term of writing was a mess in a lot of areas.
@@dude7266 Muscle Memory tend to remember more than mental memory which explain how Ben was able to still use them really good even with the 5 year gap and I believe Dwayne McDuffie I think said that the Omnitrix had a feature that give Ben the knowledge of the alien species he turn into. In Omniverse, Ben hasn't use aliens like Ditto, Frankenstrike, and Articguana for a lot longer than Diamondhead or Fourarms so one of these two factors MUCH be at play here.
Well I wouldn’t have known much about Ben 10 if it wasn’t for the reboot at least, besides I only remember seeing a few episodes of alien force or ultimate alien and omniverse, and at the time I didn’t know much about it
The reboot doesn't have an overall plot while in the other shows we had a plot which is actually interesting and gives you something to get hyped and wait for such as the highbreed invasion, aggregor's quest and a lot more

@@Ihatedumbasses I've watched the whole of season 1 and some of season 2 but it felt like every episode was it's own thing yk which was entertaining just not the best
In the original continuity, Azmuth had to actually collect the DNA of every alien in the Omnimatrix. Also, the device itself was the biggest project of his life. If Kevin can make an omnitrix with a bunch of spare parts, why can’t everyone?
The part about being less realistic is EXACTLY what put's many of us off. Things seem more like a fever dream with no stakes. I admit even the original wasn't the most consistent with how secretive Ben was with his alter ego, but at least it WAS a factor. Ben having to worry about who saw him or how they reacted made the show much more grounded than the reboot. And the part about how Kevin builds his own Omnitrix... Bruh. The reboot "just moving forward" (11:22) illustrates precisely why many of us think it's childish. It makes 0 sense, and just makes thing's "awesome" for the kids to watch. Neither shows is objectively better, they serve different audiences and purposes, like you've stated. But to pretend that the show is not HEAVILY targeted towards children and it is OUR biases at fault here is not fair.
I agree I like the fact that Ben and Gwen get along better, it is not that they do not fight from time to time but I applaud them for giving them a closer friendship. I personally consider Ben's best friend to be Gwen.

Yeah, to be frank I don’t fully agree with Hurshie’s philosophy on the alien designs.

Business Mail you mean shameful? I don’t mean 2 be grammar nazi
The art is nice with more dimensions and stuff but it is similar to the Super alien buddies that was a parody within the OG show which causes jokes to pop up
3)Whilst there is a more cohesive family unit now between Ben, Gwen and Max, sometimes Gwen and Ben are a bit too similar in personality at times making them feel more like twins than cousins and often Max is the character that hangs on.

Pure blasphemy
Correction: albeado was in alien force ultimate alien
@@hankunis2051 no duh. In OV Albedo had ultimates while Ben had the upgraded Omnitrix.

Old school design were so cool, modern design are so lazy and seems like bad fanart but with high budget. Realistic aspect made it relatable, fun part of the show at least for me was to have the watch for myself in real life, so when ever he dealt wtih real life issues I could put myself in his shoes. I agree for the most part but I actually like the art style

*DIAMOND BOLT WANTS TO KNOW YOUR LOCATION*
What I've noticed in clips is the mixture of re-using old stories/characters and making brand new ones.
Vilgax is similar to Ghostfreak
Ben becoming a wrestler as four-arms
Transformations form Alien Force onwards
Kevin is a mixture of Bens childhood bullies and Albedo
Gwen and Ben being turned into toddlers
etc
The 11 minute time-slot doesn't help too much either.
I'm very interested in the stories and presentation, some choices don't resonate too much with me, but the show isn't just trying to be different from its predecessors, it's also trying to improve on the aspects that worked for each series.
now that is what i called facts

This is a very interesting interpretation and I have to agree with you. I love Ben 10 since I was a kid.
And I feel like this reboot could have potential but the way they humanised the aliens like Stinkfly and Wildvine made think twice. They are aliens, but they made them look like costumes.
Also, they shouldn't have changed Upgrade to be purple
@@pksidinana Actually, reboot Upgrade looked better.

Retro Gamer He spent 5 years not using him, He should’ve been rusty, The new aliens were supposed to be more powerful
@@dude7266 Muscle Memory tend to remember more than mental memory which explain how Ben was able to still use them really good even with the 5 year gap and I believe Dwayne McDuffie I think said that the Omnitrix had a feature that give Ben the knowledge of the alien species he turn into.
