    Nice project Tom I like how you never overcomplicate things. Your loyal helper adds a nice touch to your videos. Can't wait for the next episode.

      It has been a fun one so far Greg. Learned something about generators in part 2 of the video. I am waiting on a laser cut piece of A36 right now.

    You get some very interesting jobs Tom. Good plan to fix this problem. I like the metal saw. Made short work of cutting that metal plate to size. Cheers Nobby

      Hey there Nobby. I love the metal saw especially for thicker material. I use it more than my plasma cutter now that I have it.

      Hey Randy. I remember riding the Greyhound buses in the early 80's and I think they had the Detroits in them. Definitely had a unique sound.

    Great work, Tom, so far. I like these off the cuff videos. They test your brain working around what you've got. $8000 wow. Can you get a new complete unit for that. Cheers Tony

    There needs to be some kind of torsional dampner in there to avoid damaging the generator. It probably had like a rubber flex disk in that fan area.

    Hey Tom looks like fun that is not a V its 2-54 or 2-71 i think its a twin . how much was the new unit and is it from China . It would be cool to mount one of those blades in a table saw you would need some HP not no cheep HF unit . JM

    • @hilltopmachineworks2131
      @hilltopmachineworks2131  9 місяців тому

      True. It is in line and not a V. I should have known better. Not sure on the cost of the unit but it was made in Georgia by "South Georgia Generator". I ended up calling them for some help in part 2 of the videos. Great customer support.
