Great question! Either brand will be great for you but the Life Fitness has a more powerful motor than most Sole treadmills with the 6.0 "peak". Another option you have with most Sole treadmills though is their ability to fold. Either brand will fit your needs, I would say it depends more on your space.
I just had a horrible experience with a sole f80. For reference I’m 6 foot 230lbs. I run 4x a week 3-4 miles. I had the treadmill for two months before I started getting an e7 error. I spoke with sole and they sent me parts which I replaced by myself that didn’t fix. Then they said they are sending me more parts and a service tech will contact me. Been over a week Haven’t heard anything. No parts. I reach back out parts haven’t shipped they don’t know when they will etc. been over a month now with no treadmilI and it’s only a 4 month old unit. finally went back to dicks sporting good and begged them to take it back because it was outisfe of the return period. After a few calls they finally caved and are letting me return it.
Hi, I am considering this treadmill and the Peloton Tread. I already have a Peloton bike so the subscription is not an issue. I really liked how comfortable the Peloton tread is BUT I don't like the warranty. I like the warranty on the Run CX but I don't like that I can't try it first. Which do you recommend? I run 3-4 days a week 2-3 miles.
Hi, thanks for your question. If you love Peloton's content and want that on your treadmill then I would go with the Peloton. If you aren't interested in taking Peloton classes on a treadmill, then the Run CX is a great option. Compared to the Peloton, the Run CX feels a bit more durable and more like a commercial treadmill you'd use in a public gym. It's a tank, really, but the console feels a bit dated compared to the Peloton. Both treadmills will handle the level of activity you're looking to do and both are of nice quality, so I think it just depends on whether you want to take Peloton's tread classes.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru I already use our 17 y Precor with the Peloton app. Your comments regarding the firmness of the deck and lack of cushion compared to other treads does concern me. How much of a difference is there between the two?
@@jennyjennybobenny8866 Ahh ok, gotcha. Both of these treadmills are actually pretty firm underfoot and feel pretty similar. They both definitely provide shock absorption, they're just on the firmer side of cushioning we've tested. NordicTrack and Horizon have softer cushioning in comparison.
We haven't encountered any that require a subscription to simply use the treadmill. Some that have subscription content like Peloton, NordicTrack, ProForm, and Bowflex have less features on their touchscreens without a subscription. You don't have to subscribe to use any of these treadmills, though.
Torn between this, f85 or horizon 7.8 at. From your videos you say horizon is better for hitt but sole has better quality. Will the cx be best for hitt and quality?
The Horizon 7.8 AT is the best for HIIT because it adjusts the speed/incline a little faster than these two treadmills. The Run CX adjusts slightly slower, but it feels more like a treadmill you'd find in a public gym and it has an adaptable motor which makes it better for use at high speeds and for multiple users. It doesn't fold up like the other two though.
i am undecided on which one is better because the runner cx says it has a 3.0chp with up to 6hp and the f85 has 4.0 hp, also which one is more sturdier and does not shake when a large person is running on it at a high speed
@@KAYY_M3KO Great questions. In our experience with both machines, they both have a tiny bit of shake when running at high speeds but the Life Fitness Run CX is a little bit less here. They are both very sturdy and solid machines, the Life Fitness has lower foot noise and a powerful motor. Both machines have high weight capacities and will be great for bigger people. One big perk of the Sole is the content that comes built into the console, whereas the Life Fitness doesn't have that. Please let me know what other questions you have.
@@KAYY_M3KO The Life Fitness Run CX reminds us more of a gym quality built treadmill and the Sole has a little bit of a home treadmill feel, if that makes sense.
It's actually really quiet. The motor and incline motor have pretty standard noise output compared to other top treadmills but where this one shines is the belt and foot noise. The belt is super smooth and has a reduced amount of "thudding" while running or walking compared to other treadmills we have tested.
Hi, I’m a moderate runner (2 miles, 5 days a week, at 6mph) and I’m trying to buy my first home treadmill for a condo that’s pretty old. So I want to be super mindful of noise not from the motor, but from footfalls and vibrations through the floor to the neighbors below. Would you recommend the run cx for this? Or another treadmill? When I search quietest treadmill, I get the Nordictrack 1750 recommended to me, but I don’t care for the extra features and again I care more about actual footfall noise. Does a “harder” deck here mean more noise vs a cushioned deck, or does that not matter? Thank you so much for your help with this!
The Run CX has a low amount of foot noise that's generated when running so this one would be a great option for you. I would also check out the Horizon 7.8 AT. The 7.8 AT folds up to save space and the Run CX doesn't. The NordicTrack 1750 is a good option for a lower amount of foot noise, too. The 1750 has softer cushioning than these two other models to feel softer underfoot. It doesn't necessarily matter how firm or soft the cushioning is for the foot noise though, some treadmills just generate more foot noise than others.
@@cynthiarox66 The Sole F80 is a good one to check out too. It has a pretty low amount of foot noise and it's comparable to the 7.8 AT in folding and functionality. The incline motor is also extremely quiet.
This treadmill belt isn't maintenance but it comes pre-lubricated and adjusted properly so it will work great once it's put together. This treadmill belt has some of the lowest foot noise of any machine we've been on.
Great Vid! For a Heavy Runner, would you recommend this over the Sole Treadmills?

Which treadmills require subscription to run? As far as I know you don't have to have it if you don't want to.

Yes, there is a HIIT mode on the Run CX. It doesn't have as many HIIT training options as the Horizon 7.8 AT though.
