The organizers of this event could start a company to cover game events and make something of this calibre for any game and it would be incredible. Great job! Special shout out to Greazy who is probably taking a lot of flak for this, even though I'm sure he was simply unable to participate due to unforeseen circumstances. Get' em next time dude!

I'm 2 games in.. and have no fuckin adrenaline left. The best rocket league anything I have watched to date. The 1 game and out system just takes the excitement over the top. Truly a top notch tourney setup and production!

It's crazy to see how much the community has improved. I'm C1 in 1s and honestly believe I would compete with these guys. GGS
So so true, some mistakes feel like mistakes I'd beat myself up for. Although, these guys were the pioneers of the game, all they had was what they could find out in training and matches, meanwhile we have all the knowledge accumulated up until now, it's easier for us because we simply have more tools available to us. It's pretty mindblowing to see how much the game evolved. What struck me the most is how they never go for aerial plays. These were just too risky at the time, nobody could hit them consistently... Crazy
@@rogersbackhand Even nowadays, Aerial plays are not the way to go in 1v1, they're really risky if you miss and often leads to easy counterattack goals. That's why they probably used less aerials in those games too, you can't just risk it all especially if you're not in a best of x games. You got to make some chances with prioritizing your recoveries and minimize the chances you give to your opponent, so thats why aerials were not the strat and probably wouldn't be to this day if a tournament like this would come up again.

For example Jhzers 4th goal against squishy, squishy picked up full boost but didn't use it to make the save. But if it really wasn't scripted, I apologize!

Gene Archer I didn't even watch this on twitch... I watched jhzer vs squishy on squishys channel which brought me to this video. And since squishys video was from his perspective I could see that he was not supersonic while attempting the save.

Kronovi took a series off of Deevo recently, and he's vastly improved in 1's as of late. Lachinio was just playing out of his mind and Kro wasn't having a good game.
Or maybe Kronovi had a very good game against Deevo, or his style matches well against Deevo's.
Deevo beat Mijo, yet Mijo beat Kro. It's all about styles. Plus, when Kro played against Deevo it was on U.S. Servers so who deserved the win is debatable.

Watching this 5 years ago, i was like wow I wish i was this good. Damn. Back in the day this was the absolute pinnacle of rocket league mechanics. Now, it looks like your average champ 1 ranked match. Amazing to see how far players have come in this game.

David Turner I'm pretty sure this was recorded before hand because the transition timing is so perfect. Also, unless he used some mods, there is no way to make the replays in slow mo and from perfectly fit angles just for the shots in just a few seconds, you also can't see the names of the players. It's a bit sad but hopefully some day we can make tournaments like this happen live. Unless the team behind this tourney are geniuses and actually did it live.
this is a prerecorded tournament which means it is possible to do overlays with saves. Just like they did with goals later one. This person does have access to the replays and could have done it for goals. Which is what I would have wanted with a prerecorded tournament. I was actually a little disappointed a lot of this did not happen because of so much more that could happen in a prerecorded tournament

To be honest, these double replays right after the goals are better than the stuff they use in the game. Sometimes you don't even see what was really going on in the game, like a bump or something like that. This is so good!
