I want to comment on the Bombas socks. I worked for a homeless org in Texas. We received so many boxes of bombas socks for our clients for free. Clients were ecstatic and grateful, the socks feel good. Bombas really DOES send them to the needy!

I don't know anyone who wouldn't welcome some Bombs socks for Christmas! Or any reason. Looking out for your neighbors, especially those in need, is what every decent human being should do. I order stuff throughout the year from Amazon and give it to a local Christian organization who ministers to the homeless people in my county. They don't care about what religion the clients follow because they help regardless.

We have water on our property as well and because we have beavers and they carry parasites my vet said that under no circumstances should our dog drink from the water as it could kill her from the beavers parasites. I’m in Ontario, so I don’t know maybe Nova Scotia beavers are different. Just thought I should mention it. Love all the videos, have a happy day 💜🩷
For your garden: Did you try planting Rosemary? It's not only good as an herb in Italian dishes, but it also acts as a natural deer repellant. Deer hate the smell of Rosemary and make a big bow around it. Or peppermint against mice. There are a lot of companion plant. that's plant which support and help other plants. All natural

Just a couple things about the greenhouse, i recommend trimming some of those cucumber leaves or your other plants will be competing for sun. Second, the flowers from the garden center may be grown with fertilizers that are not safe for consumption. Lastly, everything looks great and keep up the good work.

Although I've seen all the work you've done on the property over the years, I'm blown away too see it all in one compilation video!!! It's def not just about the back breaking physical work, but also the planning and strategizing required to fulfill your vision. You've created what can only be described as a true off grid paradise. You ladies might want to make the effort of reducing the fuel load (reducing the number of trees, limbing the trees, and removing any dead timber) in the forest around the property in as wide a radius as you can so a forest fire wont run through as easily. This is something you can do slowly and expand outwards over several years, its a big undertaking. Some bonuses in doing this is that the trees you do leave standing, the largest and healthiest, will grow much more quickly, the trees you cut down is free firewood/timber and it will make the place look much nicer^^

@@OZ01209 , I was the Desk Manager at Ragged Point Inn in Big Sur for 8 years. I lived about 15 ft. from the edge of a 350 ft. cliff above the Pacific. Given, it was a single-wide trailer, but it was amazing, and it was rent and utility free. Once I took the Desk Manager position I also got a shift meal. Many of the Big Sur resorts had seasonal workers, and some of the more ritzy ones provided spa services. We contracted out to a masseuse in Cambria, about 20 miles away for appointments. So, the short answer after this long answer is yes!

We just went to the east coast for the first time and were blown away with how much of it is forest! The drive from Moncton through Amherst and then down to Parrsboro and along the bay of Fundy was breathtaking. I kept wondering if I was driving right past your place.

I cannot tell you enough how much you've both inspired me to (eventually) build my own place!! South Africa isn't quite ready yet but I intend on changing that! Even though it's gonna be about six years before I can start anything, I've already drawn up a rough plan of what I want to do. One of the main issues for me is the location. I want to be local enough for delivery-take out, but also have a large enough property for me to build my mostly-underground log home - thankfully I already have an idea of what tools I need, due to the two of you :-) So thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone and sharing your lives with us all!

Oh ladies....your shower turned out fantastic. It is attractive with lots of room. It makes the bathroom!!! I am so happy for you and so very proud of you all, including the 4 pawed daughters. They lived in the van along with you, enjoying life, but also sacrificing for your dream. You have a dream property with 2 headful's of ideas, while the other 2 heads supervise taking naps in between.

A beautiful Sunday morning with a good cup of coffee along with a side of Vanwives, doesn't get much better than that. Watching what you have accomplished in 3 years is very fulfilling and shows what can be accomplished by good old fashioned hard work. You two are an inspiration to anyone that doubts what can be done when you labour to accomplish your dreams.

Just a couple things about the greenhouse, i recommend trimming some of those cucumber leaves or your other plants will be competing for sun. Second, the flowers from the garden center may be grown with fertilizers that are not safe for consumption. Lastly, everything looks great and keep up the good work.

Although I've seen all the work you've done on the property over the years, I'm blown away too see it all in one compilation video!!! I feel so proud of the tremendous amount that you two have accomplished. It's def not just about the back breaking physical work, but also the planning and strategizing required to fulfill your vision. You've created what can only be described as a true off grid paradise. I remember when you stopped at Todd and Tyler's land years ago, and you were so inspired by their outdoor shower and some of the landscaping they had done at that point. It's crazy how much you've accomplished since then, when it all was just a potential dream. Wow. You've built yourself your own Shangri-La in the wilderness. You were so smart to find property on a body of water. Living near water does so much for your soul and peace of mind. Not that we needed reminding how brilliant you two have been since you moved to the cabin in the woods. It's a lot to list, the cabin - both roadways - all the work at the lakeside - your water supply - and most important your electricity supply - I am sure I have missed something out.

You ladies might want to make the effort of reducing the fuel load (reducing the number of trees, limbing the trees, and removing any dead timber) in the forest around the property in as wide a radius as you can so a forest fire wont run through as easily. This is something you can do slowly and expand outwards over several years, its a big undertaking.
Some bonuses in doing this is that the trees you do leave standing, the largest and healthiest, will grow much more quickly, the trees you cut down is free firewood/timber and it will make the place look much nicer^^

So much from the ground up and it feels so luxurious now, especially with all the outdoors accomodations! I mean if you put that on airbnb when you go to your mexican property... might not feel as luxurious in the winter, though. We will need a winter tour. I'm sure it will feel whimsical:)

I have been a massage therapist for 24 years. 20 years ago I remember someone telling me that I could go to the ski resort towns in Colorado and live at the hotel while doing seasonal work. I didn't look into it because I didn't know it was a real thing. I thought maybe you had to have connections. - Should've, could've, would've... 🤦♀️
@@OZ01209 , I was the Desk Manager at Ragged Point Inn in Big Sur for 8 years. I lived about 15 ft. from the edge of a 350 ft. cliff above the Pacific. Given, it was a single-wide trailer, but it was amazing, and it was rent and utility free. Once I took the Desk Manager position I also got a shift meal. Many of the Big Sur resorts had seasonal workers, and some of the more ritzy ones provided spa services. We contracted out to a masseuse in Cambria, about 20 miles away for appointments. So, the short answer after this long answer is yes!

We just went to the east coast for the first time and were blown away with how much of it is forest! The drive from Moncton through Amherst and then down to Parrsboro and along the bay of Fundy was breathtaking. I kept wondering if I was driving right past your place.

I cannot tell you enough how much you've both inspired me to (eventually) build my own place!! South Africa isn't quite ready yet but I intend on changing that! Even though it's gonna be about six years before I can start anything, I've already drawn up a rough plan of what I want to do. One of the main issues for me is the location. I want to be local enough for delivery-take out, but also have a large enough property for me to build my mostly-underground log home - thankfully I already have an idea of what tools I need, due to the two of you :-) So thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone and sharing your lives with us all!
