- भारतीय नौसेना में ऐसा कोई लिखित आदेश नहीं है कि अगर कोई युद्ध पोत डूब रहा हो, तो उसका कैप्टन भी उसके साथ जल समाधि ले. ये महज़ एक नौसैनिक परंपरा है और उसका हाल की नौसैनिक लड़ाइयों में कभी भी पालन नहीं किया गया है. 1982 के फ़ॉकलैंड युद्ध में ब्रिटेन और अर्जेन्टीना दोनों पक्षों के कुल सात युद्धपोत डुबोए गए, लेकिन सभी के कैप्टन न सिर्फ़ बच निकले बल्कि बाद में उन्होंने अपने संस्मरण भी लिखे. 23 मई, 1941 को लार्ड माउंटबेटन का पोत 'एचएमएस केली' नौसैनिक एक्शन में डूब गया, लेकिन वो अपने पोत के साथ समुद्र के गर्त में नहीं समाए. लेकिन कैप्टन महेंद्रनाथ मुल्ला दूसरी मिट्टी के बने थे. गोरखपुर में जन्मे कप्तान मुल्ला का आज जन्मदिन भी है. रेहान फ़ज़ल की विवेचना. वीडियो एडिटिंग: काशिफ़ सिद्दीक़ी.

I first came to know about Capt. Mahendra Nath Mulla when I was in the 11th grade. His daughter Mrs. Ameeta Mulla Wattal was our English teacher at St. Patrick's Junior College, Agra, U.P. His story and supreme sacrifice were an inspiration to all students.

I was in class 3rd or 4th in Bombay when INS Khukri was hit. The next morning two three students of my class were weeping incessantly, when I asked some other guy the reason he said their fathers have lost their lives due to torpedo hit in their ship
In commemoration of this accident a Khukri building was constructed in Navy Nagar, Colaba. Some of my classmates used to live there.

Salute Captain Mulla. I was a NCC Naval wing NCC Cadet and I made the model of INS Khukri for our unit as per suggestion and instruction of my ship modeling instructor Mr Kariappa. I also remember that a navy sailor from Hassan, Karnatka by the name of Sathya Narayana.also became martyr. Proud of all of them.
Have you undergone NCC Training at Mysore Naval NCC Unit. I am a Indian Navy Veteran and was deputed at Bangalore Naval NCC between 1989 and 1991 and frequently used to visit Mysore NCC

agree my friend. and i think 1971 was also first army surrender in modern world where 90000 troops surrendered in front of india army and new country was born. there was so many things which was happening first time in 1971 war.

@@pradeepjoshi7857 ground troops only were 35000 rest were air force navy police and some paramilitary personal so 35000 is actual out of 90000 every army is divided in to many commands in Bangladesh its eastern command so there majority soilder were Bengali when they already revolt and join mukti fighter + Indian army is 16 times bigger on that region + mukti bahini as per your field Marshall Sam claims
If India face these situation I guarantee you can't survived a weak our troops are without supplies as per our strategy we don't invest much in eastern command so they are totally dependent on west pak command s
Salute to Captain Mulla & crew, kukri is a weapon used by ghorkhas. The division of India by British left this area with continued tussle. I hate war for the destruction it leaves specially to the human minds, like army their families are also hero to fight their loved ones loss. I loved army since childhood as one of my teacher use to say live life like a hans for short not like a crow for years. Once again salute to Captain Mulla & his crew who preferred to save their team members after they got hit badly. India is my great country and all indian are brothers & sisters - don’t know if schools still make their students to read this in school assembly.
