This game was pretty brutal! Definitely the most frustrating racing game I've played...especially in the final act. The high traffic density, rubber banding AI and annoying cops make this game a true exercise in one's patience. Still, I did enjoy most of my time with this game and the open world map was decent with a impressive re-creation of LA!...I just lost a bit of my sanity on those final races.
Midnight Club Los Angeles its near to this, but this game L.A Rush never would receive a remake, since its a commercial failure, get bad critics and failed to save Midway from bankrupt.
LA Rush is a mixed bag for me, as a kid it was one of my favorite racing games cause I didn't notice it's flaws not to mention it's map at the time was really impressive to have such a big urban map on one game disc was still pretty insane back in the day not to even mention all the destructible objects, detailed game model, etc it had a lot of detail for a game of it's time. But my god the rubber banding is probably worse than Underground 1...yeah..it's that bad
This game has amazing sense of speed and crash deformation for ps2, and now while software has gone up in power, competence of developers sinks In 7:28 it’s like we’re in San Andreas
@@Journey_to_who_knows for some reason it doesn't,so you could grab the s7 and go on easy mode Boring i know For more info look it up since it has been a long time i played la rush.
How to wreck pursuit vehicles in this game: 1. Drive into the ocean, you’ll respawn. 2. Slam into the cliff at the beach, you’ll respawn. 3. Slalom close to a highway barrier at high speed, they’ll become a turtle. Option 3 is useful for the car getaway things.
Damn dude respect on finishing this headache 😂 I loved this game when I was 7 I think ? Somewhere around there and I couldn’t even come in first 😂 never finished the game but I’m happy that you did 😂❤
I always wondered if you actually faced Lydell in the final race or you just faced one of his goons he sent over. The game never actually states who you're racing there.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyways, nice playthough. Liked the dumb soundbytes you edited in. I played the PC version of this game which has its own issues on top of the ones already present. Losing money in a race is always so frustrating, to the point where I just began to make a backup of my save in case I lost. It saved me A LOT of time in the long run. Also a bit annoying is that Midway made this part of the Rush series despite having nothing to do with the previous games. :P Oh, well, just another flop from them in that era.
Paying for races made the later stages even more stressful than they already were. It got to the point where I had to use "Save States" on the emulator so I wouldn't lose all my money. On the original console I'd have just removed the memory card...practiced the races without saving, then reloaded the save and gone for it lol.
This is one my fav games. I would play for hours on end. Your video also cracked me up with the extra ad libs. Next time you play use the cheat code for unlimited nitro.
man, i remember playin this with a friend from school when I was maybe 8 years old. His mom always brought us chips and coca cola - and we played for hours on these rainy afternoons. I was allowed vidoe games at home, but only an hour at a time😅. sadly lost contact with the guy after elementary school, but always remeber the good times.
I'm glad to see people still give this game some attention, I always loved the soundtrack, and it was always a fun game in general, some missions and races really are a bitch tho, on the bright side the 200+ MPH traffic cheat is hilarious
I remember playing this game as a young kid, I somehow found a glitch to get any car I wanted. I don't remember if someone told me, I read it somewhere, or I found it on my own, but you could select a car with X, unplug the controller, put it back in, and then press triangle to exit and it would give you the selected car. Used that trick to get the stupidly OP taxi concept car lol
Despite having some pretty cringe dialogue this game was pretty good. I remember actually doing those movie challenges because I wanted the concept cars so badly lol
L.A Rush is best Storyline Racing games with Rap music. In Game L.A rush be have American car, euro car, and japan car. be have open world featured, Racing Gameplay style similiar Midnight club. But now Midway has discontinued Remake a Racing games
Beat storyline? Never, the story is basic, Midway doesn't produce new games because they ended in 2009 due of the bankrupt and L.A Rush was a big commercial failure.
Игрушка зачётная, задумка вообще неплохая. Последнее время ничего подобного нет. Эту идею да с нынешней графикой бы совместить... Плюс там чуть-чуть здесь чуть-чуть подправить и получится реально 💣
I do all types of urban crime games like True Crime, Sleeping Dogs, Mafia, Max Payne, Dead to Rights etc. I cover it all, not just GTA or Saints Row. Keeping to the "crime" theme I like to do illegal street racing games too like this, Midnight Club, NFS Heat etc. :)
I used to play the hell out of the Demo listening to that soundtrack and just smashing stuff. Then I actually tried it out when I got a PC. Was kind of a case of "don't meet your heroes" tbh. Not the worst racing game I played but damn was it a nightmare sometimes.
Oh man, this game is frustrating as hell, it’s like the game is scripted for a truck to appear on the last second on the last turn of a race. I played the PS2 version recently and couldn’t beat it, there was certain race that I just couldn’t get done. On the other hand I did beat the PSP version, It seems that one was easier lol
I just wish you can use some TF2 voice lines (I love them lol) or just don't use any SFX at all for unexpected moments. Homer's noises and Wilhelm screams get old so fast.
The sound edits were just for a bit of silly fun and to make light of the more stressful moments. Also I didn't use them more than a few times in each video.
I loved this game when I was a child. But sadly for some reason it's missing every movie cutscene for me. It only show "to play movie scene". Since I had it pirated because I didn't have a credit card lol. I find this game always been so interesting. And I find the crashes very comical and easy to run on weaker laptop (my old laptop had 512mb vram). That's why I loved this game when I was a kid.

Still easier than the race on Classic difficulty in Mafia.
Better go to TDU 1 next, it's pretty relaxing
I wish you played the computer version It had better graphics
@@seyedehsanpishnomazmohamma4457 The PC version is broken. It looks terrible and glitchy. I would have played it otherwise.
Plus the AI wanted to kill you during the repo missions.
12:35 Loved the jump scene. 😂
This game deserve a remake for sure. With this 2000's ambience.
And needs to add some Lambos, Ferrari's and a Pagani
Midnight Club Los Angeles its near to this, but this game L.A Rush never would receive a remake, since its a commercial failure, get bad critics and failed to save Midway from bankrupt.
One of the best racing games of that era for me, thanks for bringing those memories back
They should restore this
Actually no, since its a commercial failure, get bad critics and failed to save Midway from bankrupt.
I love the random soundbites you added in.

Same! Unfortunately the PC version is messed up.
This game was peak childhood for me goddamn! I remember the cops being rock solid tanks fkn me up all the way, amazing game honestly
I'm so glad you played this underrated gem. Meanwhile, I can't wait for that new Need for Speed video game coming out in early December.
I miss this game, it was so good back then.

This game was far behind every game back then and it isn't better than any of the games now.
Touch grass lmao I hate weird npcs who leave overly exaggerated comments on horrible games, burnout had better sense of speed, plus crash deformation
You go touch some douche. And calling someone an NPC? How original.
Congratulations for completing L.A. Rush, Will!
That thumbnail tho, why? 😂
All his pain for play this game in one thumbnail.
This game had the best graphics for a PS2 game! Really loved to play it with Midnight club and GTA SA as a kid back then on the PS2!
Flatout 2, Gran Turismo 4 and others games released on 2005-2006 have decent graphics too.
@@Victor_2000s I agree! On PCX2 Gran Turismo 4 might even look like a 2014 game.
I loved this game back in the day on my PS2. Shame we couldn't play it in HD quality like you can in this video. Great gameplay man :)
I love how almost every traffic car in LA is literally an SUV.
God that soundtrack is excellent
I love this game but yea it is quiet brutal
6:15 "You're fired, cop! Turn in your badge and gun."
