- I missed the fireworks for the Fourth of July here in the United States because my DJI drone had a gimbal stuck error. I watched a tutorial on how to fix the DJI Mini 2 Gimbal stuck error and tried to fix my drone. It became more complicated than that.

for others having this issue it could also be a ripped ribbon cable... it was for me. it would start up and run through the calibration sequence just fine but would say gimbal stuck... take the drone apart and inspect the ribbon cables...
my 3 in 1 ribbon cable is ripped like 30%, the middle one that connects right under the gimble. drone starts just fine, the gimble moves in all positions just fine as the drone turns on but then it won't tilt up or down and it's stuck on 38° or 168° 🤣 I imagine a new cable would do the trick?
I have the same problem. Exactly the same message. But mine has been temperamental I have managed to get fumble to work briefly to shoot some footage. But now every time I turn on drone i still have the same problem. With error code:4002
I hate to say it but you would be happier getting it replaced and or sending it in for repair. It’s been a disaster getting this one to work.

Dont start your drone on the ground ...the rocks and dust are what kills it ...use cardboard

I posted a follow up on the next video, check it out for any clarifications. Bottom line is clean your gimbal out well with compressed air, update drone and app to latest firmware and make sure your DJI profile is good.

I noticed you launch off the ground!
This causes dirt, grit and fine debris to get blown up off the ground, into all the moving parts of your drone, like the motors and gimbal motors.
I launch off a clean piece of card or off the box it came in and always hand catch it when landing so it doesn't end up in the dirt or grass.

Thanks for the huge help, I was just thinking that launching and landing like that had to cause the issue. Thanks for the recommendation, I'm going to stop that now!

There are a few videos on hand catching these.
I fly it facing towards me at just above head height, let it hover, pinch hold the front body just behind the gimbal, don't try and move the drone, the motors will fight with you, just hold it firmly in place, while holding the throttle fully down to shut the motors off.
Just have to avoid the bottom sensor as you hold it because it will go up, make sure you have a good hold on it as the motors quit.

My mini 2 has error code 1008 right out of the box. Can't figure it out

PS: I used one of the ribbon dental floss to "floss" in that narrow gimbal pivot space. I hope it works. I have a take off/landing pad - I just need to use it everytime. I did previously catch sand in the space. Not sure if that caused my problem or if firmware related.

you mentioned that you watched a couple tutorials...remember where you found them? I've got the same issue
I typed in DJI Gimbal Stuck and overloaded on UA-cam. Since this what I have changed is: launching and landing from a clean surface,
allowing the drone to just sit outside the bag for 5-10 minutes so it can acclimate and making sure I give it a good dusting when I am done.

Yeah, not understanding this.
Sorry guys, no code is needed. However, since this was posted I’ve learned that you need to
1: Make sure the “app” firmware and the aircraft firmware are both updated.
2: Ensure no dirt or debris is in the gimbal. I used compressed air.
3: Give the aircraft a few minutes to acclimate to whatever weather it’s in before turning it on. The humidity will cause a gimbal error.
The code was to unlock FLIGHT in an authorized zone.
hello there, I have the same issue buddy..it says it stuck but it turns freely as the drone turns on. I couldn't understand what exactly did the trick for you? It just started working after you flew it a bit??
