I’m hoping the bus driver shed a tear knowing they meant so much to all of us. God bless.

Love this. So poignantly humanizes but at the same time elevates what we might otherwise think of as a somewhat mundane profession. But also something that feels universal, however we spend our days earning a living.

Gorgeous. This brings up so many strong emotions and memories from the past life before social media, when we were all more connected. I've told people for two decades that "words aren't remembered, but presence is." I've sat on curbs with people and stood in the cold, found out the quiet moments, because at some point I realized that, if you love people, why talk about it when you can do it? Showing up for people before you talk yourself out of it is something that I've been able to do in part thanks to decades of your music, and thank you for helping to make me a more loving person.

I have loved you and Caedmon’s call since junior high. Every song. My senior year, I won a contest singing a duet of “This World.” I’m 39 now! I listened to Bus Driver 2 this morning, CRIED, and shared it with everyone. 😂❤ Thank you for sharing your gift and inspiring the person I am today.

It almost feels like yesterday I bought my first caedmons call CD. It's always been caedmons call and DC Talk that have kept my faith going strong. Big shout out from a fellow Houstonian. Please make a April Showers sequel!!!

To add to this comment (as it was written first thing this morning as I was running late for work) - I love the way the rhythm and melody carry on from the original - this is a perfect reflection on the upbeat original - poignant and powerful. It's hard to believe it's so many years between the two songs, they almost sound as if they were recorded at the same time. And the lyrics, wow! That hit me right in the feels!
I can almost smell the exhaust from the bus as it leaves that last time - man I hope it's not an electric one, that'd totally kill the vibe!

      i was, actually.
you might notice, i’ve never specified the bus driver’s gender identity or expression (but everyone loves them regardless).

@@derekwebb Well, I didn't actually listen to the song here. Real talk for a moment, I love the original Bus Driver song, primarily for the tavern-style piano playing under the singing. There aren't enough good piano songs in CCM, and when I heard this was played on guitar, it just didn't hold my interest as much.
No, the gender of the bus driver isn't important to the message of the song, and if the driver is gender dysphoric, then he needs to get psychological counseling. But your antics at the Dove awards and supporting a so-called Christian "drag queen" (and drag queens are currently trying to groom children into sexual relationships), it behooves us not to support that kind of behavior but to oppose it for the degeneracy it is. Kids deserve better, and if we want to love the gender dysphoric as Jesus loves, then we need to get them proper counseling, not to enable them in their delusions.

@@derekwebb Anal sex is very risking and can causes ruptures and some people have gotten disease and or death from it. I do not want anyones sharp teeth near my genitals. The King James bible started to be translated around 1604 and was finished around 1611 and the next version was completed in the 1600s.
