Welcome to My Off Grid Alaskan Log Cabin

- This is my remote cabin in middle of the Alaska Range. It is completely off grid. This video shows the routine of arriving at, and opening up this cabin during the winter months.
Cold outside, warm inside, food on the table, fresh water from a stream, no annoying people, best companionship, no talking, what more can anyone ask for? This is the way to live.
Soon the entire earth will be like this. A paradise for the entire earth, Not for some, but for those who will be looked on favorably by the true God.
Can't agree more 👏👏
Amen, trusty dog by your side! Perfect, only need a bottle of wine.
Would love this, no people just my dog

This is my dream. I love cold. I love quiet. I love dogs. I love cabins. I love nature. I would give anything to live some place like this. To hear the sound of the cold wind whistling at night while you sleep. So amazing. I would still need high speed internet to do my job remotely though. LOL
Good morning Erik. You are speaking my language friend. We get some tremendous winds here at the cabin. At times the whole building shakes. I love laying in bed at night and listing to the storms. It is the most peaceful feeling on earth.
@Theo P Its alot cheaper than the life the average human lives. But money is besides the point. You cannot put a price on peace
Until the Wolves and Bears come Sniffing around.
Honestly starlink might do the trick. If not it will in a few years
With Starlink Satellites, you could have the best Internet even in the most remote parts of the earth.
I would love to live and work remotely from such a remote lovely place, as well.
I would also love to have a private jet / helicopter, to fly around for fun & to quickly visit the nearest city/town, just in case I start feeling lonely.
PS: I just noticed that someone has already mentioned about Starlink. Yeah! Starlink's fast Internet would be awesome!
I found this video soothing, no loud music, no elaborate series of explanations, just nature, cozy cabin, loving pet, warm fireplace, nice lighting, and a home cooked breakfast. Ahhh!

Just an idea: In Germany some restaurants have a semicircular heavy curtain just inside of the door to keep the cold from entering during the cold winter days. This curtain is hung from the ceiling on a strongly fastoned rack, and works great to keep that chill out. Might work well in your cabin there.
We appreciate your time and we look forward to your videos each week. So relaxing, fun, educational, entertaining, and my wife and I have a stay at one of your cabins on our bucket list. Blessings!

Good morning my friend. Such an interesting comment. I grew up here back in the 60's on a remote, completely off-grid homestead. 50 years later, life here at this cabin is still relatively unchanged from those days. We have better equipment and technology to be sure, but the nights are still dark and cold and silent. I wouldn't trade it for any other place on the planet. Peace to you from Alaska

the water is very heavy friends
Reminds me of the life I had up in the Carpathians mountains in an old log cabin where i didn't had not even a fireplace or stove. Had to prepare my food outside using an old barrel in which i used to make fire. Inside the cabin was cold as heck. Showers were with cold water or snow. But guess what? Didn't even had a simple cold, or a tooth ache or anything. I moved back to the city after my training session, found hot water and gas at my reach and i started to have cold, flues, tooth aches, knees problems. I know that living up in the mountains is tough (even a nightmare for some people), but its all so dang beautiful. I miss that time, so next year i'm gonna move to an old friend's farm up in mountains. And i'm gonna take snow showers again :)
God bless you, my friend :)
Good evening Radu. Well this is wonderful. I almost want to go with you, and could not agree more with your sentiments. I have a dear old native friend here that lives with his wife in a shanty on the bank of the Yukon River, hundreds of miles from the nearest town. He is also very wealthy. Last year I asked him why they didn't move to some tropical beach and this was what he said, "We have traveled all over the world and could live anywhere we wanted to, but there is simply no better place than here on shores of the Yukon River." I love their view of life. The things they valued were not associated with money at all. Peace to you from Alaska.
@@ThisIsMyAlaska Wow how do they buy food and other necessities or get mail on a regular basis if they are hundreds of miles from the nearest town. Or do they grow/raise all their own food? also what would they do if there is a sudden emergency like medical situation or a fire?? I'm not asking to be rude I'm just curious.............

You can do just about anything you realistically dream of doing. I encourage you to go for it.
I spent a part of my childhood in Alaska and I remember our hunting and fishing trips and living like this. That was before generators were available/affordable for regular people. I loved that life.
Good afternoon Debbie. I love those stories. I grew up on the outskirts of Nenana. We hauled our water from the creek, a mile or so away, we heated only with wood, and our only "plumbing" was an outhouse. My dad dug a 10-foot-deep hole down into the permafrost and covered it with an insulated cover. He put a ladder down into it and built shelves down there. That was our freezer during the summer months. I remember when we got our first generator. It was a 4-kW Witte. My mom was so happy. Of course we didn't call it "living off-grid" back then, it was just "living". Over a half century later I am still trying to get back to that simple way of life and I believe I will make it. Thanks for the memories. Peace.

I know this looks like a very idealistic life, so peaceful and serene and away from the rat race. However, in reality, I think this would be a very hard life to be so remote and dealing with the harshness of choosing this life style, especially for a long time. Most people are not really cut out or would know how to live out there, the eveyday things you bave to do to survive, etc. Yes, some people could, but in reality most could not for very long.

These are some survival skills. I would die the first day of cold, not knowing how to warm up the cabin. Love to watch and learn.
Good evening Raya. Thank you for watching. Many times I arrive at the cabin (in the winter) at very cold temperatures. The wind is often blowing very hard as well. I have redundant methods of quick fire starting because I have learned how important it is to have a reliable heat source. When I leave, I always make sure the fire-starting essentials are all prepared for my return. Peace.
I always forget that some people don't grow up in the middle of nowhere with extreme winters that require you learning these things. Sobering reminder that I have a lot more skills than I think I do.
Hardly survival, everything is in place, jyst walk in and light the fire
