I know why Apex is Dying. What do you do when Stocks hit ZERO... great video. But there is something bigger. ask yourself. why no one can text in lobby. look outside the world view. Life is a dream follow the rabbit if you dare. LOL just kidding what do I know all love and fun. But eyes are watching. [EA is not in control... Subbed]
i was bored before the hate ven stared and he game came out 700million compeition now thats even more not interesting, people use to be able to make better games then this for a 10th of the budget
At this point, if they make Titanfall 3, I know I can't trust Respawn to avoid making it a monetization hell due to EA's leadership, and I need them to move on.
This is the major problem when a huge studio buys IPs for them it's just another money making tool. EA, Activision, Even MS and Sony. The priority is about squeezing as much $$$ out of the IPs and not how to make the IPs popular and relevant. One would think these companies would understand the better and more popular a game is the more care and effort should be placed into it because gamers are the one feeding them.
Titanfall 3 would have hero characters with cringe voice lines (with titans as their ult), nerfed movement, and atrocious gacha MTX. I wouldn't even install it, and I have 3k hours in Titanfall 2. Respawn today is a Ship of Theseus compared to the team that dropped TF|2 in 2016. I sincerely hope they never release it.
I mean ultimately we had around 4 years of a pretty fun game, this is just how games work. When they start to naturally fall off, which they almost all do at some point, they get squeezed for cash on their way out. Look at Rocket League as a prime example, it lost the majority of it's players before Epic intervened with the actually damaging changes, but that's when the decline really accelerated. Without this corporate greed, the game still would die, just a slower, staler death rather the parent company stripping the meat off the bone the second it shows weakness. It's not like the game would have a renaissance if it wasn't owned by EA, it's just run it's course plain and simple.
I feel this so hard! I try every new fps that comes out and it never makes it passed an evening before I'm back on apex. The movement is so fluid. Nothing compares. @@KrisS-g1w
soooooooooo disappointing... the damage Fortnite has done to the industry is irreparable. I'd argue that it killed Titanfall and Call of Duty - since those games wanted to copy the Battle Royale + $kin microtransaction model so bad
Eh not really titanfall would have died regardless Our only hope was that apex would save the studio so they could make TF|3 But the monkey paw curled and apex became the company
To be fair Apex at its peak was a pretty good game but the monetization and hacking issues have just gotten worse and worse. It’s my favorite BR but I think it’s time to move on
I always find it amusing when games try to compete for a market that is limited by the simple fact that there are only 24 hours in a day and even the NEETs who live in their mom's basement have to sleep sometime, never mind the players who actually have a job and a commute and possibly a wife and/or kids to go with their gaming hobby. Especially because as my ex-wife quipped circa 2007, "Every time I try to play something other than WoW I end up spending more money than just playing WoW." Money was tight for us at the time, but even now, you see players who are trying to stretch their limited gaming budgets and you have to consistently offer them value to keep them.
It's why live service games never made sense to me in terms of long running projects. The people who can pump enough money into them to keep them sustainable have jobs, lives, and probably have their game of choice locked in. Would be much better to make a cheap single player game than dump millions into a game that has to compete with 40 others
you have it spot on, I straight up do not have enough time/money to play some of these big games, i can maybe play for a couple of hours only on the weekends...if im going to play a game in that limited time id rather play something that respects my time/money. battle passes, limited time events, extreme monetization, i just do not have the patience for anymore
@@notecards I've found recently that I'm playing fewer games but for more hours. It's just more satisfying to me to be able to see something grow, like my World of Trucks stats in ATS/ETS2, or my franchise history in NBA 2K25, than to spread myself too thin and end up losing my limited free time to choice anxiety or doomscrolling.
@@notecards It's wild because the only games that have really made it as live service are ones that started with a solid single player game attached until they built massive audiences for the multiplayer and sold lots of copies up front to make their money back And Fortnite which was already made for a completely different genre and just whipped up a battle royale mode in response to PUBG doing so well Other than that it's just MMO's and failures
Yeah, I want to go back to WoW now, but it's been about 10 years. Saved me a lot of gaming money and going out all the time money. I heard there's a lot of monetization with it now though. Or maybe it was just some P2W.
A bit of poetic justice that EA fired all of their Apex play testers at the peak its popularity in favor of automated testing and has seen a steady decline in relevance ever since
@@TJones4L LOL are you one of the playtesters that were fired? Like, what does that even have to do with the fall in popularity. Apex always had bugs, been playing it since season 4.
So glad i quit Apex several years ago. Had fun while it lasted. But everything pushed out by a publicly owned comapny will inevitably go to shit eventually. Thats what the desire for infinite growth does.
Corporations are proving time and time again that they have zero understanding of what makes a good game, I also loathe the normies in the comments who complain when a potentially good game gets released that there's no monetisation going on and you can play the game normally, they're brainwashed to be endless consumers and are all trying to corrupt the games industry. The biggest joke is when you see a negative steam review complaining about the difficulty, those people should just be banned from the internet.
Not really; Sims is still going strong. but EA is planning on moving away from Live Service titles and focusing more on Single Player and Normal MP games again
@@tacticalbeaver4637sims? The only game that prints money and someone at ea decided it will be moved onto online live service game ? Yea sure it’s a downward spiral
@@Sald8Trin Sims 4 kind of walks the line between a live service and a traditional single-player game. The online asset stores and MTX are super-tightly-integrated with the game's interface, but it's not an online multiplayer thing (they canceled Sims 5 because someone must've run the numbers and seen a SimCity 2013 redux? Speculation on my part there but it seems plausible.) They're trying to use what I call the model railroad business model (as in, my 70-year-old stepfather who spends his Social Security check at the hobby shop doing for his basement layout what I do with American Truck Simulator DLC-same church, different pew) but they're insanely greedy about it.
I used to play it everyday (1500 hours on steam between its release and the end of 2023/start of 2024, and i've been playing since the game released), but since the revenant rework i stopped because "the soul kinda left" Tried to play it again last year, and i was astonished to see how many currencies there are, how "boring" the game got and the battlepass decisions didn't help either. Whoever is taking the decisions needs to be fired.
@@thegamingbayskeletor1637 you’re absolutely right. Though I played through the revenant rework, I didn’t like the direction the game started going-and I was right. I use to play EVERYDAY, now for the last 2 weeks, when I load Apex, I sit there and think “nah”. It’s not fun anymore.
What exactly is it that makes the game bad or boring now _compared to before_ ? Aside from battle pass shit, which you should never have been paying attention to For me the only noticeable difference in gameplay is the purple loot stuff everywhere that gets you gold guns easily, that changes the dynamics. But when I ask people who complain EA is killing the game all they say is "there's no snoop dogg" and the cosmetics battle pass that they pay real money for (lmao) is NOW a cashgrab. Or hackers which is the whinge you hear from every PC player about every game anyways. Random stuff. Nobody can explain to me why it's not fun anymore
Ironically you left right before the Launch Royale event which brought the OG version of the game back exactly as it was with flaws and all. I'm kinda bored with the game as I am with any from time to time but I don't see how it is being killed, like it's just a me thing. There never was impressive new content or events in Apex, and the meta for weapons and for ranked was always changing from season to season. I can see that they are slow and hesitant (probably not allowed) to bring massive innovations so it's been stale but I really don't see how the soul left? It's literally the same Apex with more maps and modes that I never cared for (but others do), and minor improvements like seeing enemy health. They added new characters some that people liked less some that people love, like they always have. They keep adding TF1 guns which people seem to really like, they put in the perk system which is liked, there's been a ton of QoL additions to make it more fun (remember how respawning used to work?). Gameplay wise it's still the best battle royale probably. What is the big catastrophic deal, could it be mob mentality? Getting burnt out with a game or a game losing steam is normal, it's literally inevitable. Shit gets stale I feel like you naturally lost interest, maybe cuz of lack of new content compared to other games, and now are saying it lost its soul lol. How much of it is actual bad actions of EA and Respawn or the actual game being soulless and a cashgrab now? What major change of direction? Imo they should add player made content, that's it, maybe some extra dumb stuff to grind for, to keep us interested for longer. At the end of the day from literally day 2 it was a stable pretty basic cash cow that had little budget put into it carried by the titanfall gameplay, it had as much soul then as it does now. I'm surprised you even put that long into it. It peaked in player count less than 2 years ago (despite no Fortnitesque crossovers or fundamentally gamechanging updates, only new maps and characters), and was in top 20 for 5 years. Soon as they add something cool and flashy again or some influencer makes a video that Apex is good now, the players could come back. It's not that deep. People jump too much to the buzzwords and like to exaggerate "THe ApEX LeGeNDs SiTuAtiOn iS cRaZy" -shows S23 had 1 more skin than S24 literal EA scam soulless cashgrab this is why I'm quitting the game the good old days of when I first played in season 22 are ruined (is actually just busy playing Marvel Rivals)
@@raulpetrascu2696 Notice that i didn't "lose interest" in the game (i still follow it regularly and i'm still a big fan of the apex/titanfall universe) the game just got stale
Not forever but they CAN run successful for a decent amount of time! Take an example of CSGO and LoL. Even controversial titles like WoW or the seemingly more criticized Valorant have stable player counts and loyal regulars. Apex is just a victim of corporate greed and insane bad management.

Except that their engine choice is the reason apex has been filled with audio bugs for its entire lifetime. The only way to fix that would be to completely rewrite the engine's audio handling.
Looks at all EA franchises failing. There's one thing in common with all of them. EA. Electronic Arts which used to be an amazing company building amazing fun games is now just out for money and will kill their most well-known franchises trying to find new ways of making it. *When a studio thinks they can shaft their players and they will still consume ..... Until they dont, and the studio play the victim like they have done everything they can, when in fact they did the bare minimum, and ignored players!!* *Oh well!!*
seriously i quit before they added game modes and that was 3 years into apex that the community kept asking for . quit when they did that same year and it’s been 3 years later and the game still hasn’t changed lol
An interesting case study in "modders vs creators" is Escape from Tarkov: The community almost unilaterally hates most of the design and balancing decisions. So much that they made a single player clone that fixed ALL of the issues the community had, submitted it to BSG, and got told, no, you'll play the game the way we want you to play the game and you will like it. I would put money that, if Twitch wouldn't DMCA anybody playing SPT, it would draw more views than regular Tarkov
The split seasons make them so short that they don't seem significant anymore. I used to always check out the new seasons even when I wasnt playing much but now I dont bother. The greed of all the new currencies and the gacha stuff turned me from loving the game to taking pleasure in seeing it fail.
They made the battlepass and currency system way too confusing. So I don't bother with it anymore, whereas I used to religiously put money into it every season.
@@ianjarrett9375 helldivers is plenty of fun with randoms most of the time, yea people spend a lot of time split up a lot on higher diffs but that's just the efficient play in a lot of situations.
@@ALLOFTHEBOOSTthis game has a weird / heavyhanded matchmaking. It takes the skill value of the whole squad together so when you solo queue either you are put in a game of cracked players that are way better than you or you are the one carrying your squad and everyone else in the game is shit. When you are playing with a friend this doesn't happen, it's a way better experience
The following will get me to reinstall: 1) Brand new servers (I never want to see those icons on the top right again) 2) the permanent implementation of a sbmm system that makes sense (no more giving me level 20 teammates to go up against triple stack masters)
they use a SBMM the hour or server you play dont have players, some US servers had the same people even at peak hour, at certain hours certain servers have less people therefore they match you with lower level, when i used to play, i had hours and servers where skilled players play and Extremely skill players play, once those hours where hitted i played and later stop, it gave me same level players, sometimes one rank below though generally was same level and skill players, I usually played Tokyo and London, in London it redirected to Frankfurt, in Tokyo mostly was Tokyo to Hong Kong server thats the reason your ping increased, servers were shit and gane itself every update i needed to fix something, game not connecting with good internet, infinite loading screen, anti cheat not working, audio issues, Fps issues, no reg issues, servers lagging, every season i had problems i didnt have previous seasons and many others had it too therefore left the game
At this point, I just think "This is just a game. I can play something else.". Even though I absolutely love it and enjoy the gameplay. But it gets frustrating to play a game when devs don't care. Its tiring. Waiting for them to fix stuff and then the constant pressure that they might mess something that I enjoy.
They added new map sure, so what ? Whenever I play it’s either storm point or worlds edge… it’s literally boring that I have to play the same maps because I don’t fit their stupid rotation schedule that is there for people who apparently don’t work, study or do anything else besides playing apex
Oh and every new legend as much as most of them have fun mechanics are just not as fun as they could be. And the designs are… Mediocre… Newcastle, vantage ? Maybe conduit stands out but it’s the most generic stuff I’ve ever seen. And why alter portals aren’t just splitgate portals is beyond me
Every time this happens I point to Rainbow 6: Siege. They did that health update as a season and it revived the game way back. I wish more games would just understand that and commit. Same thing is happening to The Finals and Sea of Thieves. Always releasing content updates and instead ignoring the outcries for server improvements, bug fixes, and game optimizations.
I played Apex legends religiously during seasons, one, two, and three. I left for a little while to play call of duty and then came back because I missed the game but came back to a completely different game, the game is over complicated now, I don’t feel like taking the time to relearn the entire game. Not only that, but I use a PC while at the same time using a controller, I don’t think it matches controller players together, so I was at a massive disadvantage which is why I also stopped playing the finals
I like apex legends but they kept changing the game modes around. They need local peer to peer games and map creation. Apex is just too behind on new ideas.
totally get what you mean by 'the vibes matter'. once the narrative of 'dead game' or 'losing horse' sticks, its basically a self-fulfilling prophecy. also, im stealing the bucket analogy, love it as a way of explaining the dilemma between short-term cashouts and long-term improvements
heres my 2 cents as someone that has put over 5k hours into the game as a high ranking casual player: To me it has almost always felt like every new game mode, limited time event or even legend balancing has been very half baked when it was first implemented. so whenever people would get hyped for a new implementation into the game, they would quickly realize that it wasnt all that. so when that same thing has occured over and over, people slowly stop coming back to the game. the core gameplay is good, but not good enough to keep people on the hook for 5+ years, without either mods or solid live service updates. EA most definitely also doesnt see Apex as a franchise, but rather as a source of low risk income. As players we all want Apex to be a successful franchise, but for it to become that, it needs proper live service, which takes a lot of money. EA would rather put in the least amount of money for it to retain a sufficiently high stream of income, rather than taking a risk by pouring tons of money into the game, and "hoping" for it to be a big success. ive been very vocal about more inherent issues with the game like EOMM, Poor ranked systems, and no good ways of getting into the competitive scene, but as a whole, i think it all goes back to the way EA manages the game.
@@xanira6367 also there’s just no incentive to play. There’s basically nothing to earn by playing. Only the BP and half of that shit is ugly/worthless stickers or banner frames. The weapon progression system is a joke, and now they’re putting in PAID mythic gun skins instead of making that the grindable reward for leveling your gun with 300 hours of play time.
The game struggles because it doesn’t know what it wants to be, it’s constantly partially pandering to pros and casuals, not pleasing either of them because their changes are either competitively brain dead or stale on the casual side after a few weeks. Not to mention they can’t even release a patch without breaking the game and this is something they have been fucking up for years consistently. Having guns tied to paid skins means they can’t legally remove guns because of paid content which now has resulted in them not being able to add new guns regularly because the loot would be insanely congested. It’s a giant mesh of ridiculously trivial mistakes and a complete lack of foresight.
They did this when they ignored the big issues (tick rate, audio, cheaters, content) for years and scared away all of the more casual players with infuriating EOMM.
Anything EA touches...usually goes to .... When I first started playing Apex in S15 my first words were -> I'm surprised that EA was able to actually release and maintain a good game. But now...The EA greed curse has caught up
As an avid Apex player still... Somehow.. It feels like Daddy EA absolutely hates apex legends for existing, and thinks the playerbase is just mindless moneybags; as they laugh while they put out another $300 cosmetic you can only see as an enemy loots your corpse. The pc cheater situation seems to have been mostly handled tho console still have an exorbitant amount of cronus users and it seems that nobody can figure out how to stop it. Respawn announced they banned it at one point, which is a blatant lie. It always felt like ea was forcing them to keep the cheaters around because they were wallets for them to milk, and didnt want to lose that financial gain. They have fucked us, and they have fucked the game, but I'm sure next week we'll get another set of mediocre $20 skins. Season 0 player and I'll be here when the servers go down. I hate the game. No other game compares to how the game feels. The source engine is old as shit and I'm sure it's super limiting but that source movement is what makes apex soo much better than any other competitive fps. Sbmm sux but we're tired of talking about it. Monetization sucks. EA sucks. I hate the game so much but I'm in an abusive relationship with apex legends and I love it.
This was miserable to read my dawg, just quit the game it's not entitled to your time. I was hooked on it and then i got off it just as easily as i got hooked.
The moment they started trying to squeeze more money out of their players after years of flopping on changes and using an abusive matchmaking system that ruins the fun of players purposefully was the moment i gave up on the game. 40$ reactive gun skins and hundreds of dollars of bad universal heirloom skins is just disgusting
Somewhere near the end of year one, Respawn issued a statement, that they did not want to be like other games out there, that they had no intention of "oversaturating" the playable character, map, or weapon pools. They wanted to keep that kind of content at a minimum. I said then... that would be the slow death of Apex. The reason games like Fortnite continue to kill it, is because they seasonally change up the content pools, so everything feels new and fresh. You may not like the changes, but it still feels different every couple of months. So... with Apex we get no real content to speak of... and then the compounding issues from day one, like sound and performance, and later the cheater epidemic, which were all somewhat ignored (or so it seemed)... add a severe overreach of greed and over-monetization, or at least, monetization with little to value for the player... their inability to pick a road to either cater to pros or casuals, or find some semblance of balance in the middle... and it is no wonder Apex is in the state it is in now. It was sad, cuz I did love Apex for many years... but I uninstalled about a year ago, and let's be real... it's not like there aren't other games out there to play! hehehe
As a Former Casual Apex player I felt completely betrayed by Respawn, my favorite legend( Caustic) had been in the low ranks and underpowered for Years and they absolutely Refused to buff him, even with the one update I felt actually helped the games health, being the one where the class system was reworked they gave Caustic some of the Absolute worst upgrades in the whole game cause pros whined about him 3-4 years ago, and as the matchmaking kept putting me against pros and apex predators. My play an hour or 2 a day not even every day was destroyed and I could do nothing about it, I tried it again when I got improved internet thinking my Major lag and bad connection would be fixed, only to find that my internet was a minor part of the Problem and the servers were just Atrocious. The art style went from a cool realistic futuristic I loved to being super cringy monetization went from surprisingly Friendly to absolutely terrible. Apex Legends it was fun for a time But Good bye and Good Riddance
My brother was an avid player and he quit after the constant kicks due to the very poor servers, the constant drift even with new controllers because they kept messing with the sensitivities, and just the lack of content and too much focus on monetization. He plays Fortnite with a few friends nowadays as well as Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals, & Predecessor which has hooked him despite it being in rough shape and a MOBA to boot which he has no prior experience in as SMITE was awful plus the same issues Apex has plagues that game and all of Evil Mojo's games now.
i didnt had lag until season 20, i could not connect with 150mb internet it looked like i was in 1Mb internet it lasted few weeks, from that season i started to have problems with servers and audio issues, from season 16 to season 19 game was fun, season 20 was the season where they got daily 400k and later started to fall, since season 20 every season i had to fix something to make the game work fine it was annoying, lastly they removed most fun game modes instead of keep it, post malone was really fun, april fools was fun too, the remove and add other modes later theh remove the modes and vring back previous modes like they must keep all modes, when solos was a thing they removed it, quads was fun and removed it, duos was fun and they remove it every season this things made many left the game, competitive went from easy to hard, to harder to super easy, from super easy to normal, from normal to super hard, casual is a mess too, death match, arenas and gun fights, nothing new since i played in season 16, arenas was death at some point, at this point they should ads content and buff weaker legends instead of nerf old legends, path nerf was pointless, as a support player, support meta is fun and gets boring after some time, most people including me wants to kills people to have fun not down and revive fest all over again which is boring
… Only one mode BR 24/7, Battlepass has a time limit, Store is full of $30+ skins, the grind is excessive for someone who has a job and playing with randoms suck. Gameplay is revolutionary and no other game has still managed to replicate it… whereas I just want a PvE mode. Respawn created the best PvE mode in Titanfall 2… and I’ve played the hell out of it. Waiting for another entry.
ive got 14000 hours in the game, i cant confirm this just on experience, all the content creators and streamers i know are all saying and feeling the same way, that it feels like theyre purposely trying to kill the game
There’s way more things that make Apex unique than tap-strafing. They were trying to tame some of the obnoxious lurching mechanics. It’s not popular with the dwindling population to remove it, but it would also possibly bring back older players.
How hard is for the devs to notice that the matchmaking system of the game is what makes everyone quit for good and for new players to also feel frustrated from the get go and thus quit. I kept coming back again and again to Apex but matchmaking issue was never being addressed and would eventually push me away.
I was an Apex player fanatic due to the gameplay and movement, Playing Marvel Rivals now, so much more enjoyable. content - Esport oriented balancing - Battle Royal Fatigue, eventually
You just play to much PvP nonsense. Same with happen to marvel’s eventually. These games are a big waste of time. Majority of them end up with the same fate.
You forgot crazy bad hitreg. The amount of times you fire an entire mag into someone only for it to hit twice because the servers are just ass. There were soooo many audio bugs, I remember the one season you had global audio bugs making the sound unbearable. Not the mention so many bugs taking ages to fix, like Loba's Q being broken for months.
Rivals is basically a better but less polished Overwatch. My main game was Overwatch, but there's a good reason why Apex became my main game the moment it came out. The fluid gameplay and movement, intense BR setting, and it being more about the guns rather than abilities, is what makes it good. OW/Rivals are more spammy games where you spend most of the time in these clusterfuck teamfights just trying to kill healers and tanks. IDK, even with it's other negatives, Apex will always be the more pure shooter to me.
one thing that could help them come back would be cheaper skins, permanent battlepasses, more weapons that are changed each season, more maps for all modes, solo mode and last but not less, less EA
Good thing that they isolated an entire community. They kicked the linux community off out of nowhere. Now why would I want to bother loading up a windows partition just for this game
as someone who plays on and off like two times a year just to hit plat/diamond and get hard stuck there i still somewhat enjoy the game since i play other games more then apex
As an advid player of Apex, here's my two cents: 1. New maps are the most exciting and most important retention tool. Players return when new maps are introduced. Plus it takes weeks to learn and explore to be competitive on that map. Respawn has failed in this. 2. Mixtape: You don't have to make a new map for mixed tape. Just change the to another area in an existing map. This creates new excitement for mix tape and players must learn that new section to be competitive. 3. We don't need new characters. There are plenty to choose from. 4. Special events. Events that stretch the boundaries are fun. Mechanic changes for a limited time. Flying or mass jumping or respawning ideas that are simply sweet and keep the game exciting. Don't over think it. Just make it cool. Could be rifts, jumping, teleporting or character exaggerations for that mode. Shake it up to be different and fun. 5. Fix the servers. Every game is never the same. This is the number 1 complaint in Apex. Input is different every game. It's either lag, desync or network issues every 3rd game you play. The game has never felt "stable" every single time you enter a match. Its a guessing game as to how well you are connected. 6. Put a death total in the scoreboard. How many times you died in a given match. Mixtape or ranked, or trios and duos. The scoreboard needs a death count for every player in every match mode. This helps people improve. It allows friends to help thier buddy get better when playing together. They all can see how many times each player is dying. Who is throwing games, and who needs to improve and where. Imagine if...just if...you could select you deaths and replay those moments with your team. Think about this. Where did you die, how did you die, and your team can spectate together each person's death during that match and talk together about what should have been done or coach each other on how to be better. Now that....would be awesome.
The leaky bucket is the real reason this game is dying. Its the analogy that makes the most sense. The primary reason i kept putting this game down after giving it several chances was because the solo experience and matchmaking was such garbage. You as a solo player were actively at a disadvantage, forced to play with people who did not want to cooperate, would regularly work against you, and were pit against premade squads while you had to play random player roulette. In a game where teamplay was so important to do well even in casual matches. Its pretty much just an endurance test in frustration. Its not as simple as "just get friends to play", its that EA and Respawn didnt want to cater to any of the people playing the game in the first place, they just wanted you to put hours in, pay for overpriced cosmetics and hope we wouod never notice the glaring issues this game STILL has. Meanwhile Fortnite, during that entire time Apex just fumbled along, actively added better experiences for all styles of play.
The abusive matchmaking system that actively tries to manufacture highs and lows in your gameplay by matching you with certain types of people based not only on skill-based garbage but other factors was one of the big reasons i stopped playing. I want my games to be fun and not have to try my ass off like i'm in some comp finals or something 24/7 just because i did something a certain way was not fun at all.
Imo, lack of solo queue is extremely damaging to player retention but it's an intentional decision since the business model is chasing a bigger fish. I'm willing to bet there's analyses that exist that prove players who are duos or squads bring in more profit because playing with friends means now you also have your friends pestering you to play and those shared victories make you more invested in the game, and more inclined to spend money. As a result, solo queuers end up as the sacrificial lamb to backfill the ranks to give squads players to dunk on. So while many soloq cry out in protest, EA is making their buck on those stomping them so they have no real reason to care as a business

Respawn is gone, all the talents, all the leaders and that made Titanfall have left. Respawn is no more than an empty shell filled with EA's greedy goons
"when the camels back breaks there does tend to be a straw" is the most high school essay word count upping phrase i think ive heard in like 15 years. since high school.
I've played apex on any level. Casual, competitive, professional... for more than ~5000 hours and I can say: They never really tried to change anything! Respawn always saiys "We gonna do something new and cool next year just wait" but nothing ever happend and one rather small update to the game every 3 months is not enough. Usually there are only two patches or updates and those are at a season start and in the mid season update! I literally never spoke to anyone that said "Yeah 2 updates to this live serivce game are enough"... On top of that all the wrong decissions about chages that would benefit the players... Ranked changes. Matchmaking changes. Server sructure... I mean respawn introduced so called weapon trials... challanges for weapons right. Then respawn took away a bunch of items that are no longer available in game but one of the items is needed to get through the weapon specific trials in order to level up the weapon and get the cosmetics for it. They introduced trials like 2 years ago and took away the item two seasons ago. Half a year and people are still unable to complete the havoc trials since there is no turbocharger! I've also texted with a dev via steam and he literally said "Devs hate their job at respawn" since they can't do anything on their own and cant do anything that would be fun for the game! Also it is not EA's fault. It is respawn alone! EA is literally just funding the studio and projects but not supervising them in their work on apex! There is no big guy in an EA suit that says "Oh no we need more cosmetics"... Its more that there are respawn guys in suits that dont allow anything that might not work at all even if it would be fun and even tho people and players have been asking for that feature for ages! Cinema mode or archive or however you wanna call the replay feature... People want this in apex since literally forever. Guess what game just came out and has it right from the beginning making it easier for everyone to make content on the game... Yeah marvel rivals dude!
they have a interview with investors and they decide what to put in game they vote and thats the way they go, EA have something to do in this, alongside with other investors, they vote, some dont care and just vote as long as the game makes money, to some extend is EA fault and Respawn direction in terms of management
@@raufmeister I can only say what was written to me by someone that actually works at respawn on the game full time and EA was more or less the good guy in that entire story and they seem to only really get involved when it comes to financing stuff. Nobody at EA decides what legend will get added next season and nobody at EA cares what changes are made to ranked. And nobody at EA cares what apex developers are doing as long as respawn entertainment as their property does well. Also investors probably don't even know what matchmaking is dude. These guys make millions of dollars every single year! They are called investors because they buy into a business. To make even more money by giving money away in hope that is quadruples! :D That's it. But I am sure we will get more leaks and new apex drama in the next 12 months since the game really looks like it is dying now! At least on steam...
This was talked about by a lot of different creators and some actually went into detail and showed that this is just steam and pc there are actually more players overall than there was in the beginning
All this negativity, yet Apex still has a healthy playerbase. If you look at the top shooters on Steam by 24hr peak, you only have CS, PUBG, Rivals, and Apex. People still love Apex, many are just waiting for Respawn to do something big, add more maps/legends/weapons and fix the balance for underused legends.
Wonder why the upper management cant understand the simple ungabunga of "More player more money. no player no money." Whats so hard to grasp about that? Why do so many game company go down the spiral of "Losing players, want to keep profit margin the same. Increase MTX to meet said margin, player angry, player leave. repeat"
Because they simply don’t care. This is why I hate the corporate world and capitalism. They’d rather have quick/shortlasting boost of income than make anything worth sticking around in the long run bc they don’t see as big of figures when it’s stretched out over months/years. They want those flashy numbers to show their investors, they don’t care about making meaningful/positive changes if it doesn’t instantly raise their bank account by several digits.
because they need money, EA is well known to start working in the next game when the game is dying instead of saving it, NFS, FIFA, Sims to mention a few suffered the same faith as Apex, NFS is a yearly game and every game is ruined once a good one is done instead of invest time and develop next one, NFS underground was a good a year later NFS underground 2 was kind of annoying and felt empty, NFS Mw came and was a good one with good story, the NFS Saga continue tilk this day and it have good and bad games, FIFA reduced its graphics quality to the point the only made popular players mOdels and rest looked the same, the list of bad decisions made by EA after they buy an studio is huge like they are looking to kill the game on purpose
Whats wrong with the game: Too few new maps Too few new weapons Too few different modes (i.e. permanent modes) Item shop too expensive Too many cheaters No solo Q mode I could have written this list 4 years ago when i started playing Apex and nothing has changed since.
Also nothing worth grinding for. You put in 300 hours to level your gun to 100 and get a pack that contains a 5 year old legendary skin that you could craft for 1200 mats or honestly probably already have if you’ve played long enough like me
The fact they threw Linux users under the bus rather than being honest and saying "The market is saturated, our model can't grow infinitely but it can probably pay for it's own costs" is a great example of why hedge fund investing is cancerous to the continued existence of video games as art
As a Sims player, yeah i saw this coming for a few years now with the gradual decline in dlc quality, then content-per-pack; almost like a penny-pinching Scrooge Trigger to a few bad reviews on lackluster design choices.
This is very popular trend that is going around Big companies want to make money Devs want to make a great game for their customers to gain trust and eventually money The executives in those big companies dont gives a fat ass abiut the customers as long as their pockets are lined with millions of dollars Especially more so when the company have to restructure and slim down the dev team The executives wont "lower their meaningless" salaries just to keep the employee who are making them the money Blizzard, Bungie, and EA are those types of companies The devs are passionate and want to make games The executives will pressure them to give subpar products while asking to make profit, which is mind boggling As long as these companies have those executives, you will continue to be disappointed by them and move away to other titles that arent "money first, product second" So sad to see beloved companies become utter human feces that think they have the rights to do what they do
A rank player, got diamond a few times, plat usually and its just sad to see them ignoring issues for the sake of money. They had a good game, they had a good system and EA just kept ruining it cause they wanted more and more and more...
Well deserved. Nothing agains't Apex itself but everything agains't EA for sure. They decided to screw with the game and players jumped boat. Nothing surprising coming from that shitty company.
Part of the problem was they (Respawn) catered SUPER HEAVY to the competitive side and didnt care for the casual playsrs. They attempted a weird course correct that pissed off the comp side. Both sides have argued who hurt the game for like 2 years now.
I remember being hard into apex. Getting diamond or master every season! Then my bro left then my other bro left, now im leaving! Just ain’t the same anymore. Especially with the season pass changing, legends getting reworked. Was a great while it lasted!!
Every time I attempted to go back into Apex, I was matched with tons of cheaters and Predators. It made the game utterly unemployable. It felt like I wasn't playing the game as a player. I was playing as the content for people who spend money and likely influence matchmaking as a result.
All games have a life span and Apex legends is just another game that's nearing it's time. The battle royal scene isn't what it was anymore and only a select few will maintain a large and consistent player base.
Fortnite is the king of the genre now and everyone else is either dying off or struggling due to factors such as dwindling playerbases (Naraka, MHA Ultra Rumble, and Off the Grid are somehow alive despite this being the case plus Warzone is straight up on death's doorstep as the devs aren't doing jack to help that game at all it seems like), monetization (our economy's not getting better so many people are starting to prioritize what matters such as rent, food, etc.), and the waning popularity of this genre giving way to Hero, Tactical, & Extraction shooters.
@@Ziko577 Fortnite found a way to morph itself into a game that can be anything it wants to be at this point. It's like a piece of clay epic can mold to their wills. It's also just fun and it's monetization doesn't feel like you're being nickel & dimed constantly (at least most of the time, the newest shoe cosmetics are really pushing it.) On the other hand, other developers are absolutely fumbling the bag with objectively horrible gacha game tier monetization in apex's case, and other incredibly disgusting practices like replacing VAs with AI replicas and using AI to make assets like COD.
As a former Apex player, in a midcore/casual sense, the gameplay just feels very stale nowadays. And with ever increasing microtransactions, with outrages costs (I'm looking at you FF collab). The game feels like a No risks, ultra safe, cash grab, that ultimately comes off like last weeks moldy bread. Which sucks, cause this is the studio that delivered Titanfall for gods sake. A game that EA called a "failure" cause they tried to launch it the same week as CoD, dooming it from the jump. Yet despite it's "lackluster" sales, remains a cult classic, with immense pop culture presence. But hey what do I know, I'm not some corporat trying to get my investors off with fancy buzzwords.
I stopped playing after the cross save merge stuff, I had spent maybe 1000 bucks overall, my account got wiped, I lost everything, haven’t touched the game since, I played since season 1, having that happen was devastating
I fully believe that this is gonna make the AAA gaming industry crash for the most part, the only series i see sticking around for another few years without major changes is COD because there are just so many whales and consumers that will eat up the slop no matter what. But even then, that series is gonna crash and burn eventually after all the player trust is dead. Indie games are the future and i think that's a pretty good outcome.
Same old story. Dev's and players taking the hit and having to pick up the slack for terrible management and corporate decisions and unreasonable expectations of perpetual year-on-year 10,000% growth to appease stock holders.
I find that train design distracting, lol. I would expect that it would tip off the tracks with the uneven loading just the base cars have. A right hand curve would be puckering.

At this point, if they make Titanfall 3, I know I can't trust Respawn to avoid making it a monetization hell due to EA's leadership, and I need them to move on.
Let's hope they sell the IP to someone who can make a decent game
I'm just gonna hope diesel knights' dev is able to compete his game m

EA: "Apex isn't making enough money"
No, EA isn't making enough money, so Apex is being forced to pick up the tab for all the other failures.
The Apex story is a real shame , corporate greed is devastating
Titanfall 2 players: First time?

To be fair Apex at its peak was a pretty good game but the monetization and hacking issues have just gotten worse and worse. It’s my favorite BR but I think it’s time to move on
apex is better admit it
I always find it amusing when games try to compete for a market that is limited by the simple fact that there are only 24 hours in a day and even the NEETs who live in their mom's basement have to sleep sometime, never mind the players who actually have a job and a commute and possibly a wife and/or kids to go with their gaming hobby.

Other than that it's just MMO's and failures
Yeah, I want to go back to WoW now, but it's been about 10 years. Saved me a lot of gaming money and going out all the time money. I heard there's a lot of monetization with it now though. Or maybe it was just some P2W.
A bit of poetic justice that EA fired all of their Apex play testers at the peak its popularity in favor of automated testing and has seen a steady decline in relevance ever since

@@NockaMama the game got "stale" and feels like "a cash grab" now
What exactly is it that makes the game bad or boring now _compared to before_ ? Aside from battle pass shit, which you should never have been paying attention to
For me the only noticeable difference in gameplay is the purple loot stuff everywhere that gets you gold guns easily, that changes the dynamics.
Shit gets stale
I feel like you naturally lost interest, maybe cuz of lack of new content compared to other games, and now are saying it lost its soul lol. People jump too much to the buzzwords and like to exaggerate
"THe ApEX LeGeNDs SiTuAtiOn iS cRaZy" -shows S23 had 1 more skin than S24 literal EA scam soulless cashgrab this is why I'm quitting the game the good old days of when I first played in season 22 are ruined (is actually just busy playing Marvel Rivals)

Controller isn't a disadvantage in Apex, at least not now. Most of the pros are playing on controller because the aim assist is so strong.
I like apex legends but they kept changing the game modes around. They need local peer to peer games and map creation. Apex is just too behind on new ideas.
Funny you say that, modders made that and ea FORCED them to shutdown.
Yeah lack of LAN servers stopped it being a major game at our LAN centre
totally get what you mean by 'the vibes matter'. once the narrative of 'dead game' or 'losing horse' sticks, its basically a self-fulfilling prophecy. also, im stealing the bucket analogy, love it as a way of explaining the dilemma between short-term cashouts and long-term improvements
What we expect from EA. They ruined thing when they touch good game.
2:15 your hook was really good but ngl this sponsor placement was so close to making me click off
heres my 2 cents as someone that has put over 5k hours into the game as a high ranking casual player:
To me it has almost always felt like every new game mode, limited time event or even legend balancing has been very half baked when it was first implemented. so whenever people would get hyped for a new implementation into the game, they would quickly realize that it wasnt all that. so when that same thing has occured over and over, people slowly stop coming back to the game. the core gameplay is good, but not good enough to keep people on the hook for 5+ years, without either mods or solid live service updates.
I saw this coming 9 months ago when I stopped playing. This was completely avoidable and no one did a thing. You reap what you sow.
Exactly my thoughts on it, well said big dawg.
They did this when they ignored the big issues (tick rate, audio, cheaters, content) for years and scared away all of the more casual players with infuriating EOMM.
until season 20 player base was fine, from season 20 onwards people started to leave, since season 21 till now, game feels the same in rank
For me the sign of the end was the addition of new currency
He plays Fortnite with a few friends nowadays as well as Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals, & Predecessor which has hooked him despite it being in rough shape and a MOBA to boot which he has no prior experience in as SMITE was awful plus the same issues Apex has plagues that game and all of Evil Mojo's games now.
i didnt had lag until season 20, i could not connect with 150mb internet it looked like i was in 1Mb internet it lasted few weeks, from that season i started to have problems with servers and audio issues, from season 16 to season 19 game was fun, season 20 was the season where they got daily 400k and later started to fall, since season 20 every season i had to fix something to make the game work fine it was annoying, lastly they removed most fun game modes instead of keep it, post malone was really fun, april fools was fun too, the remove and add other modes later theh remove the modes and vring back previous modes like they must keep all modes, when solos was a thing they removed it, quads was fun and removed it, duos was fun and they remove it every season this things made many left the game, competitive went from easy to hard, to harder to super easy, from super easy to normal, from normal to super hard, casual is a mess too, death match, arenas and gun fights, nothing new since i played in season 16, arenas was death at some point, at this point they should ads content and buff weaker legends instead of nerf old legends, path nerf was pointless, as a support player, support meta is fun and gets boring after some time, most people including me wants to kills people to have fun not down and revive fest all over again which is boring
yea ea servers are a huge problem
Dang...14,000 hours? And it only takes 11,000 hours to master something you could make a living on.
He likely added an extra 0 by mistake, cause there ain’t no way lmao. 5k hours is ridiculous and even then it’d still be more believable.
EA wasting money on Bioware and not letting Respawn do what they need to do with apex and make a new titan fall.
There’s way more things that make Apex unique than tap-strafing. They were trying to tame some of the obnoxious lurching mechanics. It’s not popular with the dwindling population to remove it, but it would also possibly bring back older players.
Best shooter on the market utterly mismanaged... I guess it's time to become an adult... RIP.
Called this shit like 2 years ago. Sucks, cuz the Titanfall franchise is one of my favorites
How hard is for the devs to notice that the matchmaking system of the game is what makes everyone quit for good and for new players to also feel frustrated from the get go and thus quit. I kept coming back again and again to Apex but matchmaking issue was never being addressed and would eventually push me away.
EA: Try not to murder your studios.
Challenge: impossible.
Good riddance. Titanfall should have been a REAL, TRUE priority. Like we said for years.
Long live Titanfall!! ✊
Live services aren't perpetual, games become live services when they're popular for long enough. It's stupid to create "live service games"
I was an Apex player fanatic due to the gameplay and movement,
Playing Marvel Rivals now, so much more enjoyable. content
- Esport oriented balancing
- Battle Royal Fatigue, eventually
You just play to much PvP nonsense. Same with happen to marvel’s eventually. These games are a big waste of time. Majority of them end up with the same fate.
You forgot crazy bad hitreg. The amount of times you fire an entire mag into someone only for it to hit twice because the servers are just ass.
There were soooo many audio bugs, I remember the one season you had global audio bugs making the sound unbearable.
Not the mention so many bugs taking ages to fix, like Loba's Q being broken for months.
@ remember those times, devs too slow to fix things
"TRIPLE A IS IN TROUBLE"
"Yea ok good, moving on"
They killed Titanfall for this dogwater.
As an advid player of Apex, here's my two cents:
Fell the greed of EA ; It's in the game!
"this game that makes us a fuckton of money doesnt make enough money!"
peak first world problems
Welcome to capitalism and corporate America
You know what, I’ve only taken an intro to computer science class in c++ but damn it, respawn isn’t going to make Titanfall 3 so I’ll do it myself…
This is why giant publishers ruin games.
*Original title:* EA Is Murdering Apex Legends, and Players Have Had Enough
*Original thumbnail A:* Player _exodus_ . EA logo w/ cartoony hands holding a pistol and money w/ a dead Apex logo on the ground in front of it.
27 minutes ago, subject to A/B testing changes
Respawn is gone, all the talents, all the leaders and that made Titanfall have left. Respawn is no more than an empty shell filled with EA's greedy goons
"when the camels back breaks there does tend to be a straw" is the most high school essay word count upping phrase i think ive heard in like 15 years. since high school.
I don't think that they "weren't trying to fix the bucket", I think they just kept ordering their Flex Tape from Wish.
In 5-10 years a studio made up of ex-Respawn devs will make a Titanfall spiritual successor
I just want Titanfall
This was talked about by a lot of different creators and some actually went into detail and showed that this is just steam and pc there are actually more players overall than there was in the beginning
Took so long to fix the bucket it died on the vine. Now I'm imagining a bucket-fruit vine. 😄
Wonder why the upper management cant understand the simple ungabunga of "More player more money. no player no money."
Whats so hard to grasp about that?
@@karvis386 corpos only care about the WHALES, not f2p players. They would rather have 100 paying whales than 100K active players.
Whats wrong with the game:
Too few new maps
Too few new weapons
Too few different modes (i.e. permanent modes)
Item shop too expensive
Too many cheaters
No solo Q mode
I could have written this list 4 years ago when i started playing Apex and nothing has changed since.
Also nothing worth grinding for. You put in 300 hours to level your gun to 100 and get a pack that contains a 5 year old legendary skin that you could craft for 1200 mats or honestly probably already have if you’ve played long enough like me
i lost respect when they released recolor legendary skins for a big “event”
Between me and my nephew, I have 610 hours in-game, but i havent played in almost a year and I don't even miss it.
Apex updates feel like watching a demented person slowly forgetting its own identity
Prepare for a TitanFail :(
This is very popular trend that is going around
Big companies want to make money
Devs want to make a great game for their customers to gain trust and eventually money
The executives in those big companies dont gives a fat ass abiut the customers as long as their pockets are lined with millions of dollars
Especially more so when the company have to restructure and slim down the dev team
The executives wont "lower their meaningless" salaries just to keep the employee who are making them the money
Blizzard, Bungie, and EA are those types of companies
The devs are passionate and want to make games
The executives will pressure them to give subpar products while asking to make profit, which is mind boggling
As long as these companies have those executives, you will continue to be disappointed by them and move away to other titles that arent "money first, product second"
So sad to see beloved companies become utter human feces that think they have the rights to do what they do
A rank player, got diamond a few times, plat usually and its just sad to see them ignoring issues for the sake of money. They had a good game, they had a good system and EA just kept ruining it cause they wanted more and more and more...
Oops, should have made Titanfall 3 =)
Well deserved.
Nothing agains't Apex itself but everything agains't EA for sure.
They decided to screw with the game and players jumped boat. Nothing surprising coming from that shitty company.
Part of the problem was they (Respawn) catered SUPER HEAVY to the competitive side and didnt care for the casual playsrs. They attempted a weird course correct that pissed off the comp side. Both sides have argued who hurt the game for like 2 years now.
The fact that Titanfall 3 is not even considered a viable option for Respawn is reason enough not to play Apex, ever!
Ask yourself; would you want Respawn to make Titanfall 3, Or have Respawn sell the rights to another developer?
@@Adamnlaw Definitely want titanfall 3 but who knows how it'll be since respawns talent has been so broken up
I saw the writing on the wall with the cost to get new characters
Apex has always been cringe
I stopped playing after the cross save merge stuff, I had spent maybe 1000 bucks overall, my account got wiped, I lost everything, haven’t touched the game since, I played since season 1, having that happen was devastating
The over commercialisation of gaming is bringing the industry to a crossroads.
Apex was pretty mid. It makes me mad that apex replaced titanfall.
