Thanks, yes sometimes lidl tools do lack in that regard. The fact they put the illustrations at the front and you have to constantly refer back to the numbers does make them a tad hard to follow.
I now realise that the function of the V shaped drill bit locator in the set up device on the LHS is to ensure that the leading edge of the dtill bit is correctly presented at the correct axial angle to the diamond wheel...this is critical..is it not.?. The metal stop at the bottom, wthinin the V, I understand is to set up the amount of grind feed at the first pass.Again poorly instucted in the manual. Clever little tool through.
For £16 it seems okay, i think the plastic is GFRP so a bit stronger than the usual plastic. Ive used it a few times since this video does seem to bring a bit more life back to old bits.
Its ok for a chisel used around cars, it may not give a great finsih for a carpenters chisel but for the sorts of chisels used around a car its fine especially for such a low price.
The drill has two speeds on or off haha. Yes what you are saying makes sense, although these bits themselves are cheap lidl items used on a parkside drill. I really should get a pillar drill for any jobs requiring precision, but for odd jobs around cars its usually full steam ahead and sharpen the bits when they get blunt.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV good review, i just bought mine and your review helped me use it. But I don't recommend buying the lidl pillar drill i got feedback its quite weak.
@@stephenvella4169 Hi, thanks for the comment and bit about the lidl pillar drill. They have had the pillar drill in stock quite recently but it does look a bit flimsy. Every now and then ive had call to use a pillar drill but keep an eye on gumtree/local machinery auctions for something like an old meddings pillar drill.
@@peugeotCitroen2CV glad to know that the Parkside product works, because they are in Lidl I am suspicious. For sure you get a better result drilling with a slow speed, so the bit doesnt overheat which softens it making it get blunt quicker. Also you need to have enough pressure to make little twirls of metal or chips. Is it possible to use an oil or something on the diamond wheel, is there a resevoir underneath that it can run through
Your drills are completly burning ! You can buy another, use oil for cutting and a good runing (2500 to 500 tr/min. - fast for small drill 2mm and slow for big drill 10mm). Vive la deudeuche !! Yves, from France ...
Its hard to control the speed on most of these cordless drills, its a fairly accurate representation of how most non machinists will use them and quickly dull the edge. Ideally yes a pillar drill should be used with lubricant around the drill as it cuts but that is not something available to everyone. This sharpening station will quickly get it back, its not the most professional setup but for the average DIYer who does the occasional bit of drilling now and then it seems quite handy.
Google translate has given me: This device is not for sharpening a short animal iron! All i can do is say that yes i do not recall seeing any mention of short animal iron in the instructions manual.
When drilling you should use a lower speed and some cutting oil
Thanks
Excellent video, very helpfull
Thanks Dude 👍🏻
Helpfull, thanks...an improvement on instruction book!

Very good review
Thanks for the comment
scissors are dead easy to sharpen with a file anyway, search for the Paul Sellers vid on it
the concept is pretty good, but will not hold up long with all the moving parts being plastic, good vid thanx

hola con esa velocidad quemas las brocas
thx!

mine sounds a lot louder than that and its only been used once
There is a fairly good warranty on this stuff if you keep the receipt

Des volle Spielzeug!!
What speed setting are you using on your drill there? You might want to slow it down a bit buddy!

Your drill speed is far too fast for steel..

Its not a great surface finish but the drill bit seems to go through steel better after being sharpened in this device.

Belive it or not Peugeot and Citroen actually sell cars outside of France.

An interesting perspective, thanks for the technical analsys and suggestions for how to improve the cutting efficency of the drill bit.
Big dislike
You cant win them all
