One thing I remember Ywach saying about the true Tensa Zangetsu was that Ichigo kept jumping between timelines and the use of Book of the End allowed him to switch to a version where his bankai had not been broken, instantly repairing it. From this we can assume that Tenss Zangetsu has some power over fate and/or time but never shows this power in its shikai due to how monstrous this power really is
As far as I know, the only reason why Zangetsu was restored was because of Orihime's Sōten Kisshun, and Tsukishima's Book of the End. Zangestu doesn't have any relation to time.

Tensa Zangetsu is most likely to either be so destructive that yhwach would not have a timeline to pull from where he was unharmed or not dead. or it had some other ability that nullified the allmighty like fate manipulation or some way to nullify schrifts
Slight correction, kazeshinis chain is the real zanpakuto, they made a whole deal about all the "dual-zanpakuto" having extremely complicated reasons why they're dual swords
Tbf it's not entirely too complicated. To have dual blades you need two spirits, which are essentially two seperate parts of your soul. One was made from Ukitake as he was saved as a child. One was made from Kyroaku to inherit and hide his sister in law's will. And one was made from ichigo due to his nature
Ehhhh Minazuki’s Bankai ability is still a bit of an enigma. In the anime it was shown to heal Unohana automatically on top of manipulation of the blood/acid. The melting flesh thing is still kind of unconfirmed given the vague way it was presented. But it would make a lot of sense if it did. Hopefully she gets a chance to use it in the Hell Arc and we get a clear description of what it does. Either way it looks busted. I’d push Katen Kyokotsu, Senbonzakura, Shinso, and Sogyo no Kotowari up a few spots but this is a nice list.
Minazuki is basically a dead lock battle simulator or like a tutorial battle mode in Street fighter. For the user the battle won't end and the enemy will keep getting healed unless you seal the bankai. But since Unohana's thing is getting battle high by prolonging battle as long as possible. She probably won't stop if the enemy still has the will and skill to make an entertaining fight. For the enemy the only way out is to kill the user. (Also from all the evidence shown in the kenpachi battle, only the enemy has the auto heal buff, while Unohana needs to heal herself via kido so the "auto-heal" doesn't apply to the user. It is basically a bankai made for Unohana to have fun battling giving the enemy an upperhand")
Well I think the anime, while keeping it vague, showed us that Unohana herself was doing the healing and it wasn't necessary related to her bankai, like yes her shikai has a healing ability but I think it's like Shunsui's zanpakutou where his bankai and shikai represent the 2 sides of the user's personality, her shikai being the kind and gentle healer and her bankai being the bloodthirsty psychotic killer, I think she's simply healing him with healing kido every time she brought him to the brink of death. The scenes where Zaraki is skeletal are metaphorical as we see the battle from Zaraki's perspective so it's not acid the bankai summons it's blood, the ability of her bankai is to summon a large pool of blood in the battle area and manipulate that blood to use in battle. It takes a bit of thinking but I think the anime gives us a much clearer idea on how Minazuki works.
There's a few placings that don't make a lot of sense. Like Renji being below Kensei when he easily beat the quincy Mask that had just beaten Kensei while in a weaker state than when they fought Renji.
The only one I disagreed with was Gin's. If not for Hogyuku plot armor he one-shots Aizen. Gin 's Zanpakuto is what Soy Fong wishes she had. I'd place Gin's sword in the top five because if you don't know Gin's an enemy, or if you don't spot him in time it's basically over.
Agreed. I've seen a lot of people call him weak but even with aizens durability being able to withstand yoruichi, urahara and isshin all at once, gin was able to blow aizen apart with no effort. The only way I reckon gins bankai wouldn't go well in, is if the opponent either knows it's coming or is fast enough to dodge/block it.

That's faster than the fastest recorded reaction time in history. I do think there are some zanpakuto that are better but come on, it's insanely strong. If Gin wants to, he can end a fight before it even begins.
Ikkaku’s bankai is my absolute favorite in the series. He’s my favorite side character so I remember being so hyped when he showed bankai out of nowhere in the arancar arc. I’m still so disappointed we never saw it again but I am tentatively hoping for it to return in the hell arc
I am of the opinion that Wabisuki in particular should be higher. When I first heard that ability I found it to be absolutely broken and I still do, I'd rather had Wabisukis shikai than Ikimarus bankai.

I would guess that Shunsui's bankai is like his shikai, where it has several plays that are based on his zanpakuto's mood (although there is no proof of this.) I also really like the fact that his shikai and bankai are connected by the fact that they have something to do with the word play. As his shikai uses games for it's abilities, while his bankai uses theatre plays.

To be fair, it’s like he said, Sayafushi is just a really sharp sword, making it’s strength almost 100% the user’s own strength. It’s only as strong as it is because Oetsu is just that good.
One critique Mayuri Bankai/ Zanpakto doesn’t have the ability to be modified it’s something Mayuri does himself. Mayuri himself explains this right after Ichigo‘s bankai is broken.
Yeah Mayuri used science to force his Zanpakutou into it's bankai state to become captain so his soul was never truly imprinted on it, his bankai is basically a "blank" bankai(hence why it looks like a baby) and he modifies it to have whatever abilities he can give it
The Fullbring arc was meant to show Ichigo’s hollow powers since he lost his shinigami powers, but not his other powers like his Hollow or Quincy powers. He can’t use his Quincy powers because Yhwach doesn’t want to lend him power and Ichigo doesn’t even know he has Quincy powers yet. So this leads to his Fullbringer powers, since fullbringers are regular humans whose family have been attacked by a hollow and their reiatsu lingers within the their parents body leading to their child bearing the more hollow like power. This means that since Ichigo trained his Fullbring powers, he’s technically also trained his hollow powers so he no longer needs to use his mask and is basically constantly using it since his Fullbring Shikai and Bankai look like his mastered Fullbring form. Another reason why the Fullbring arc needed to happen was to enhance his character from a guardian “I’ll protect everyone” to a “I kill this guy to protect everyone” as with his confrontation with Tsukishima. Basically his depression arc like Naruto and One Piece and the other shounen shows. Ichigo defeats his enemy and moves on. He doesn’t kill unnecessarily to protect those around him. He’s also only 17 at this point. Just like the Evangelion example. Would you be ready to fuck the shit out of biblically accurate angels who’ve mutilated and ate out Asuka like that? But in this case the entirety of basically undead Yakuza, Spanish Hell, and Nazi Germany? We also needed the Fullbring arc, so that we don’t question why Ichigo’s drip is different and who the new characters are in TYBW as an ass pull. And if you’re arguing Fullbringers are an ass pull, then say goodbye to how fullbringers expand on how everything has reshi and how even souls can get sick and have children.
In slight defense of Komamura’s bankai, although it is a weakness that damage to the bankai transfers to him, it comes with the benefit of making it one of the only bankai that isn’t permanently broken when damaged, as it also heals with Komamura.
Dope list. I personally would have the top 15 rearranged. I think Zangetsu and Hyorinmaru are way too low. If we’re assuming this is just the Zan and not the user, or like, equal stats in a sealed state, True Bankai Tensa Zangetsu and Mature Daiguren Hyorinmaru offer the most massive reiatsu and physical stat boosts in the series. True Shikai Ichigo went from getting smacked around by Yhwach’s Black Reiatsu to scaring him at full power. Take the power difference between Base/Sealed Toshiro and Adult Toshiro physically overpowering and out speeding Vollstandig Gerard who’s stronger than Bankai Kenpachi in the TYBW and keeping up with Final Form Gerard And Hyorinmaru’s hax didn’t fail to work on Gerard, it worked every single time it was used. It negates the abilities of whatever it freezes. Gerard’s sword was negged. Gerard broke out because he said he has resistance to elemental attacks but Toshiro froze him to the bone. And the Miracle was negated on Gerard’s body. After Gerard revived, we see the parts Toshiro froze were still frozen. He revived from the Reishi in the environment, not the body that Toshiro froze. Mature Hyorinmaru got a massive stat buff instant flash freezing, massive AOE, freezes whatever touches him, can freeze all forms of matter, including fire, can freeze reishi and raw spiritual energy, and has conceptual power null, on top of all of it’s Bankai and Shikai abilities Zangetsu got a bigger stat buff than Hyorinmaru, built in Shinigami, Hollow, Quincy, and Fullbringer powers, but unfortunately its ability that’s able to scare SK Yhwach is unknown, which stops it from being #1 in a sealed zanpakuto stats equal or overall power comparison
I should have clarified further so I'll pin this comment for all others: This list ranks zanpakuto solely, ignoring their user as much as possible. Obviously, some user based feats will need to be mentioned to properly base the sword, but things like Ichigo being stronger than Aizen don't play in this ranking. It's more or less a ranking of, if a random soul reaper or someone all powerful like Aizen had access to every single zanpakuto, how would those abilities stack up to each other. So when things like Senbonzakura are lower than others, it's based on Senbonzakura as a whole. Not Byakuya's power level. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk and thanks for watching the video!
@@NoOperator if we truly ignore ichigo as a factor I would probably take zangetsu even lower. that's because much of its power is based on the assumpsion that it's powerful. yes yhwach had to break it for it was too scary/powerful. but since we don't know what it's power is I would put it lower and put an * there saying that it's purely because of too much unknown... hyorinmaru would go higher however because of some of the things guys here mentioned. ignoring toushiro would make it rank higher since he is the limiter and not the zanpakuto. meaning that hyorinmaru can even adjust it's power level to the level of it's shinigami.
You made such an amazing video and I love how you explain each Zanpakuto's strengths and why they made it to that number. I even had a feeling on what Number 1 was going to be. But it does make me laugh on how you say Ichimonji is by far the strongest Zanpakuto to ever exist, but Yhwach was scared of Zangetsu and had to break it. And Zangetsu is #13 on this list. Keep up the amazing work.
Yhwach also went right for the kill with Ichibei, blowing him to pieces as soon as he regained The Almighty. Speaks more that he wanted things ended quickly with Ichibei. Ichigo is more impressive than Zangetsu. Yes it has a ton of power but it's kind of a one-trick pony.
Wabisuke should probably be above Love's big stick, and even Hozukimaru. I have to say it's probably one of the best physical zanpakuto, simply because it'll at least throw other physical users off balance, before completely immobilizing. Heck, I'd say he could have a chance against Kenpachi, hypothetically. Granted, maybe not in Kira's hands xD But also, nice seeing Haineko and especially Ruriiro Kujaku, get some recognition. They are amazing and generally underrated.
i am very satisfied with this list, my personnal favourite is wabisuke, i like how you truly explain and argument why one is up or down the list without just saying this is better cus the user is op exemple ichigo u ranked him as in efficiency of the zanpakuto itself and not the user's ability to use it, and i really apreciate it, any thing can be strong if used by the right hands but if 2 individuals with equal talent and knowledge use weapons with great power and utility difference the winner would be the better equipped
I’ve only watched the first arc of bleach but I’ve always been a fan of the weapon and character design so whether or not your ratings are accurate it is still worth it to me to go through each and compare and contrast them.

Honestly, Kyoka Suigetsu is not even a bankai and already is powerful enough to completely nullify any incoming effect of any bankai simply by controlling all 5 senses of anyone who saw its release. While not even a bankai, Kyoka is just "Why did you think i stopped using hypnosis?" and thats enough to kill almost anyone. Even while Ichibei can control everything black, Kyoka can control what he will say. Ichibei may actually think that he uses his zanpakuto, but in reality he could've just been toying with a broom. Kyoka is kind of allmighty, with the only downside of it is that you need to see its release or the hypnosis won't work on you.
I think judging power is best done by creating certain scenarios. Considering that SK Yhwach was cut down by Ichigo's bankai, if shinigami Aizen had Ichigo's powers, he probably wouldn't mind if Yama used bankai because he'd cut through it anyway. Yhwach and the SK aren't just pure reiatsu but their abilities far surpass every single zanpakuto ability. Had Ichigo weilded any other zanpakuto regardless of mastery, Yhwach would have won the battle. Hope you guys aren't under the delusion that chopping SK Yhwach in two with a normal zanpakuto can actually kill him. Mimihagi who is alot like Pernida was absorbed, Zangetsu cutting Pernida, Lille or Gerard will immediately kill them. And the Speed of Tensa Zangetsu is such that it can't physically be eluded by normal shunpo, hirenkyaku nor sonido as an ability that can't reach it's opponent is worthless regardless of it's strength, clearly Yhwach could not dodge it no matter what, even in the end. So it goes like this. If you give Renji Ichigo's zanpakuto, even up to Yama's level is a sitting duck as he won't dodge nor survive the attack. If Ichibei had Ichigo's zanpakuto, Yhwach wouldn't have gotten the chance to use the Almighty as he'd be dead right after the bankai gets activated. Also, the hollow and quincy powers are part of Zangetsu making matters worse so the total power of Zangetsu is boosted even higher

I really appreciate your high ranking of Kinshara. It is a great and very underrated Zanpakuto, it just didn't get a chance to shine because the wielder is kinda stupid (even tho I really like him)

Interesting list... Don't disagree with most of them, especially since I'm a bit backdated with regards to Bleach. However, in my opinion, I think that Aizen's zangetsu is by far the most powerful. I mean, technically, at the end of the entire series, Kubo could just say that "it was all a dream" and that he's really aizen or something like that. My real evidence is this though, Kyoka Suigetsu is so OP a shikai that the author hasn't been able to think of a bankai for him in the past, what, one and a half decades? Or more? I also find that this happens quite often in bleach where Kubo tends to write himself into corners regarding the powers of his coolest characters, lol
Wish they did more exploration on hanataro's zanpakto it had a very unique ability but sadly wasnt given enough focus. Rangikus Zanpakto is also underrated.
The skull effect during unohanas bankai is an added effect by the author to symbolize the freeness in which the two kenpachis are battling with. It is not an ability given to her by her bankai, the anime basically confirms this

Wabisuke is highly underrated and even OP as Shinkai Zanpakuto and Kira hasn't achieved Bankai yet but can hold his own again any other lieutenant . I'm thinking Kubo for the Hell arc could develop Wabisuke by making the Bankai Anti-Gravity which could easily be worse than increasing the weight/mass of objects. Any enemy would be unable to generate any force to attack or even interact i.e. complete nullification of gravity would make the target essentially a ghost locked in a prison of masslessness/reishiless unable to move at all because you need to mass to generate force to push against any material/reishi object.
Kyoka suigetsu is actually way harder to use then you think not only does it drain loads of reiatsu but it also takes extreme intelligence to use this is shown in the canon bleach novel with even aizen only being able to make relatively implement illusion usually switching peoples faces
People are sleeping on Wabisuke 100%. Shows how people don't know the scale of exponents are in everyday life. The only weakness it has in physical combat is the speed of the user. You only need to touch enemies, including their weapons and clothes 4 times to make them 16 times heavier, meanwhile people can't even bench their own weight. If you could double your net worth by touching your credit card, you'd be happy wouldn't ya?
Fun video to review all the unique designs. Still wish we got info on Yoruichi's blade. One gripe, tho; Renji's awakened Bankia has got to rank way higher. It can completely destroy regenerating or concept power type foes, much like Rukia or Gin. While not as fantastical in its methods, there's also reliable control wielded by the one dude who trains like a standard fighter by Ichimonji himself. The brutal strength of the baboon arm just crippling a character with one of the top 5 physiques in the show like warm clay is undeniable. Plus, it looks Awesome!
I completely agree. Renji's Bankai turned Mask into a rag doll. Not to mention, if this is to be taken in any way at all, Unohana's dialogue during her fight with Zaraki shows Renji during her explaining of comrades who can keep up with Zaraki. Renji has gotta be up there.
I think Byakuya was missed potential. Could you imagine how mich more beautiful and even more memorable Byakuya if he used kagura dances with the petal bankai and shikai?
Not sure how this would affect Momo's ranking, but Tobiume can also absorb and reflect reishi attacks. I'm not sure she ever does it outside of filler (zanpakuto rebellion) but it is for sure referenced in TYBW making it a canon ability

Would have loved to see Aizen's plan when he got to the Soul King's Palace. KyokaSuigetsu + Hogyoku against a Zanpakuto that can literally rewrite not just reality but also existence itself.
It probably wouldn't have done anything and Aizen would've just evolved past it as even The almighty deemed Aizen unkillable. As Yhwach literally saw into the infinite possibilities and saw that in every single one aizen could not be killed.
Mostly agree but I think because Kensei lost to Mask (in a tag team fight btw) and Renji absolutely destroyed a stronger version of him, that Zabimaru should be a bit higher

Ehhhh Minazuki’s Bankai ability is still a bit of an enigma. In the anime it was shown to heal Unohana automatically on top of manipulation of the blood/acid. The melting flesh thing is still kind of unconfirmed given the vague way it was presented. But it would make a lot of sense if it did. Hopefully she gets a chance to use it in the Hell Arc and we get a clear description of what it does. Either way it looks busted.
I’d push Katen Kyokotsu, Senbonzakura, Shinso, and Sogyo no Kotowari up a few spots but this is a nice list.
Minazuki is basically a dead lock battle simulator or like a tutorial battle mode in Street fighter.
For the user the battle won't end and the enemy will keep getting healed unless you seal the bankai. But since Unohana's thing is getting battle high by prolonging battle as long as possible. She probably won't stop if the enemy still has the will and skill to make an entertaining fight.
For the enemy the only way out is to kill the user.
(Also from all the evidence shown in the kenpachi battle, only the enemy has the auto heal buff, while Unohana needs to heal herself via kido so the "auto-heal" doesn't apply to the user. It is basically a bankai made for Unohana to have fun battling giving the enemy an upperhand")
Well I think the anime, while keeping it vague, showed us that Unohana herself was doing the healing and it wasn't necessary related to her bankai, like yes her shikai has a healing ability but I think it's like Shunsui's zanpakutou where his bankai and shikai represent the 2 sides of the user's personality, her shikai being the kind and gentle healer and her bankai being the bloodthirsty psychotic killer, I think she's simply healing him with healing kido every time she brought him to the brink of death. The scenes where Zaraki is skeletal are metaphorical as we see the battle from Zaraki's perspective so it's not acid the bankai summons it's blood, the ability of her bankai is to summon a large pool of blood in the battle area and manipulate that blood to use in battle. It takes a bit of thinking but I think the anime gives us a much clearer idea on how Minazuki works.

There's a few placings that don't make a lot of sense. Like Renji being below Kensei when he easily beat the quincy Mask that had just beaten Kensei while in a weaker state than when they fought Renji.

The only one I disagreed with was Gin's. If not for Hogyuku plot armor he one-shots Aizen. Gin 's Zanpakuto is what Soy Fong wishes she had. I'd place Gin's sword in the top five because if you don't know Gin's an enemy, or if you don't spot him in time it's basically over.
Agreed. I've seen a lot of people call him weak but even with aizens durability being able to withstand yoruichi, urahara and isshin all at once, gin was able to blow aizen apart with no effort. The only way I reckon gins bankai wouldn't go well in, is if the opponent either knows it's coming or is fast enough to dodge/block it.

Ikkaku’s bankai is my absolute favorite in the series. He’s my favorite side character so I remember being so hyped when he showed bankai out of nowhere in the arancar arc. I’m still so disappointed we never saw it again but I am tentatively hoping for it to return in the hell arc

I would guess that Shunsui's bankai is like his shikai, where it has several plays that are based on his zanpakuto's mood (although there is no proof of this.) I also really like the fact that his shikai and bankai are connected by the fact that they have something to do with the word play. As his shikai uses games for it's abilities, while his bankai uses theatre plays.

To be fair, it’s like he said, Sayafushi is just a really sharp sword, making it’s strength almost 100% the user’s own strength. It’s only as strong as it is because Oetsu is just that good.
One critique Mayuri Bankai/ Zanpakto doesn’t have the ability to be modified it’s something Mayuri does himself. Mayuri himself explains this right after Ichigo‘s bankai is broken.
Yeah Mayuri used science to force his Zanpakutou into it's bankai state to become captain so his soul was never truly imprinted on it, his bankai is basically a "blank" bankai(hence why it looks like a baby) and he modifies it to have whatever abilities he can give it

The Fullbring arc was meant to show Ichigo’s hollow powers since he lost his shinigami powers, but not his other powers like his Hollow or Quincy powers. He can’t use his Quincy powers because Yhwach doesn’t want to lend him power and Ichigo doesn’t even know he has Quincy powers yet. So this leads to his Fullbringer powers, since fullbringers are regular humans whose family have been attacked by a hollow and their reiatsu lingers within the their parents body leading to their child bearing the more hollow like power. This means that since Ichigo trained his Fullbring powers, he’s technically also trained his hollow powers so he no longer needs to use his mask and is basically constantly using it since his Fullbring Shikai and Bankai look like his mastered Fullbring form. Another reason why the Fullbring arc needed to happen was to enhance his character from a guardian “I’ll protect everyone” to a “I kill this guy to protect everyone” as with his confrontation with Tsukishima. Basically his depression arc like Naruto and One Piece and the other shounen shows. Ichigo defeats his enemy and moves on. He doesn’t kill unnecessarily to protect those around him. He’s also only 17 at this point. Just like the Evangelion example. Would you be ready to fuck the shit out of biblically accurate angels who’ve mutilated and ate out Asuka like that? But in this case the entirety of basically undead Yakuza, Spanish Hell, and Nazi Germany? We also needed the Fullbring arc, so that we don’t question why Ichigo’s drip is different and who the new characters are in TYBW as an ass pull. And if you’re arguing Fullbringers are an ass pull, then say goodbye to how fullbringers expand on how everything has reshi and how even souls can get sick and have children.

In slight defense of Komamura’s bankai, although it is a weakness that damage to the bankai transfers to him, it comes with the benefit of making it one of the only bankai that isn’t permanently broken when damaged, as it also heals with Komamura.
Dope list. I personally would have the top 15 rearranged. I think Zangetsu and Hyorinmaru are way too low. If we’re assuming this is just the Zan and not the user, or like, equal stats in a sealed state, True Bankai Tensa Zangetsu and Mature Daiguren Hyorinmaru offer the most massive reiatsu and physical stat boosts in the series. True Shikai Ichigo went from getting smacked around by Yhwach’s Black Reiatsu to scaring him at full power.
Take the power difference between Base/Sealed Toshiro and Adult Toshiro physically overpowering and out speeding Vollstandig Gerard who’s stronger than Bankai Kenpachi in the TYBW and keeping up with Final Form Gerard
And Hyorinmaru’s hax didn’t fail to work on Gerard, it worked every single time it was used. It negates the abilities of whatever it freezes. Gerard’s sword was negged. Gerard broke out because he said he has resistance to elemental attacks but Toshiro froze him to the bone. And the Miracle was negated on Gerard’s body. After Gerard revived, we see the parts Toshiro froze were still frozen. He revived from the Reishi in the environment, not the body that Toshiro froze.
Mature Hyorinmaru got a massive stat buff instant flash freezing, massive AOE, freezes whatever touches him, can freeze all forms of matter, including fire, can freeze reishi and raw spiritual energy, and has conceptual power null, on top of all
of it’s Bankai and Shikai abilities
Zangetsu got a bigger stat buff than Hyorinmaru, built in Shinigami, Hollow, Quincy, and Fullbringer powers, but unfortunately its ability that’s able to scare SK Yhwach is unknown, which stops it from being #1 in a sealed zanpakuto stats equal or overall power comparison
I should have clarified further so I'll pin this comment for all others:
This list ranks zanpakuto solely, ignoring their user as much as possible. Obviously, some user based feats will need to be mentioned to properly base the sword, but things like Ichigo being stronger than Aizen don't play in this ranking. It's more or less a ranking of, if a random soul reaper or someone all powerful like Aizen had access to every single zanpakuto, how would those abilities stack up to each other.
So when things like Senbonzakura are lower than others, it's based on Senbonzakura as a whole. Not Byakuya's power level. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk and thanks for watching the video!

hyorinmaru would go higher however because of some of the things guys here mentioned. ignoring toushiro would make it rank higher since he is the limiter and not the zanpakuto. meaning that hyorinmaru can even adjust it's power level to the level of it's shinigami.
You made such an amazing video and I love how you explain each Zanpakuto's strengths and why they made it to that number. I even had a feeling on what Number 1 was going to be. But it does make me laugh on how you say Ichimonji is by far the strongest Zanpakuto to ever exist, but Yhwach was scared of Zangetsu and had to break it. And Zangetsu is #13 on this list. Keep up the amazing work.
Yhwach also went right for the kill with Ichibei, blowing him to pieces as soon as he regained The Almighty. Speaks more that he wanted things ended quickly with Ichibei.
Ichigo is more impressive than Zangetsu. Yes it has a ton of power but it's kind of a one-trick pony.
Wabisuke is underrated. In the hands of a more powerful Shinigami it is OP.

Wabisuke should probably be above Love's big stick, and even Hozukimaru. I have to say it's probably one of the best physical zanpakuto, simply because it'll at least throw other physical users off balance, before completely immobilizing. Heck, I'd say he could have a chance against Kenpachi, hypothetically. Granted, maybe not in Kira's hands xD
But also, nice seeing Haineko and especially Ruriiro Kujaku, get some recognition. They are amazing and generally underrated.

i am very satisfied with this list, my personnal favourite is wabisuke, i like how you truly explain and argument why one is up or down the list without just saying this is better cus the user is op exemple ichigo u ranked him as in efficiency of the zanpakuto itself and not the user's ability to use it, and i really apreciate it, any thing can be strong if used by the right hands but if 2 individuals with equal talent and knowledge use weapons with great power and utility difference the winner would be the better equipped

Honestly, Kyoka Suigetsu is not even a bankai and already is powerful enough to completely nullify any incoming effect of any bankai simply by controlling all 5 senses of anyone who saw its release. While not even a bankai, Kyoka is just "Why did you think i stopped using hypnosis?" and thats enough to kill almost anyone. Even while Ichibei can control everything black, Kyoka can control what he will say. Ichibei may actually think that he uses his zanpakuto, but in reality he could've just been toying with a broom. Kyoka is kind of allmighty, with the only downside of it is that you need to see its release or the hypnosis won't work on you.
I think judging power is best done by creating certain scenarios. Considering that SK Yhwach was cut down by Ichigo's bankai, if shinigami Aizen had Ichigo's powers, he probably wouldn't mind if Yama used bankai because he'd cut through it anyway. Yhwach and the SK aren't just pure reiatsu but their abilities far surpass every single zanpakuto ability. Had Ichigo weilded any other zanpakuto regardless of mastery, Yhwach would have won the battle. Hope you guys aren't under the delusion that chopping SK Yhwach in two with a normal zanpakuto can actually kill him. Mimihagi who is alot like Pernida was absorbed, Zangetsu cutting Pernida, Lille or Gerard will immediately kill them. And the Speed of Tensa Zangetsu is such that it can't physically be eluded by normal shunpo, hirenkyaku nor sonido as an ability that can't reach it's opponent is worthless regardless of it's strength, clearly Yhwach could not dodge it no matter what, even in the end. So it goes like this. If you give Renji Ichigo's zanpakuto, even up to Yama's level is a sitting duck as he won't dodge nor survive the attack. If Ichibei had Ichigo's zanpakuto, Yhwach wouldn't have gotten the chance to use the Almighty as he'd be dead right after the bankai gets activated. Also, the hollow and quincy powers are part of Zangetsu making matters worse so the total power of Zangetsu is boosted even higher

Interesting list... Don't disagree with most of them, especially since I'm a bit backdated with regards to Bleach.
However, in my opinion, I think that Aizen's zangetsu is by far the most powerful. I mean, technically, at the end of the entire series, Kubo could just say that "it was all a dream" and that he's really aizen or something like that. My real evidence is this though, Kyoka Suigetsu is so OP a shikai that the author hasn't been able to think of a bankai for him in the past, what, one and a half decades? Or more?
I also find that this happens quite often in bleach where Kubo tends to write himself into corners regarding the powers of his coolest characters, lol
My personal favourite zanpakuto made it to top 15, and I'm happy about that.

Wish they did more exploration on hanataro's zanpakto it had a very unique ability but sadly wasnt given enough focus. Rangikus Zanpakto is also underrated.

The skull effect during unohanas bankai is an added effect by the author to symbolize the freeness in which the two kenpachis are battling with. It is not an ability given to her by her bankai, the anime basically confirms this

Don’t sleep on Wabisuke, if Kira was a faster fighter he could make any physical type bankai useless after blocking like 6-7 swings making it too heavy to wield
Wabisuke is highly underrated and even OP as Shinkai Zanpakuto and Kira hasn't achieved Bankai yet but can hold his own again any other lieutenant . I'm thinking Kubo for the Hell arc could develop Wabisuke by making the Bankai Anti-Gravity which could easily be worse than increasing the weight/mass of objects. Any enemy would be unable to generate any force to attack or even interact i.e. complete nullification of gravity would make the target essentially a ghost locked in a prison of masslessness/reishiless unable to move at all because you need to mass to generate force to push against any material/reishi object.

Kyoka suigetsu is actually way harder to use then you think not only does it drain loads of reiatsu but it also takes extreme intelligence to use this is shown in the canon bleach novel with even aizen only being able to make relatively implement illusion usually switching peoples faces

The only weakness it has in physical combat is the speed of the user. You only need to touch enemies, including their weapons and clothes 4 times to make them 16 times heavier, meanwhile people can't even bench their own weight.

One gripe, tho; Renji's awakened Bankia has got to rank way higher.
It can completely destroy regenerating or concept power type foes, much like Rukia or Gin. While not as fantastical in its methods, there's also reliable control wielded by the one dude who trains like a standard fighter by Ichimonji himself. The brutal strength of the baboon arm just crippling a character with one of the top 5 physiques in the show like warm clay is undeniable. Plus, it looks Awesome!
I completely agree. Renji's Bankai turned Mask into a rag doll. Not to mention, if this is to be taken in any way at all, Unohana's dialogue during her fight with Zaraki shows Renji during her explaining of comrades who can keep up with Zaraki. Renji has gotta be up there.
I think Byakuya was missed potential. Could you imagine how mich more beautiful and even more memorable Byakuya if he used kagura dances with the petal bankai and shikai?

Not sure how this would affect Momo's ranking, but Tobiume can also absorb and reflect reishi attacks. I'm not sure she ever does it outside of filler (zanpakuto rebellion) but it is for sure referenced in TYBW making it a canon ability

Would have loved to see Aizen's plan when he got to the Soul King's Palace. KyokaSuigetsu + Hogyoku against a Zanpakuto that can literally rewrite not just reality but also existence itself.
It probably wouldn't have done anything and Aizen would've just evolved past it as even The almighty deemed Aizen unkillable. As Yhwach literally saw into the infinite possibilities and saw that in every single one aizen could not be killed.
