- Model and animal conservationist Behati Prinsloo talked to Ellen about her work with the Save the Rhino Trust in her home country of Namibia, and efforts to stop poaching the rare creatures. Behati also chatted about how Ellen helped name her daughter Dusty, and how both she and husband Adam Levine waited a while before watching Ellen's Netflix special "Relatable."

Ha as an American I find the term "American accent " funny because amongst ourselves, we point out the differences within our own country, north vs south etc. What country are you from, do you guys have strong regional differences in your accents also?

Charlize learnt English purposely with the interest of being hired as an "American." Could be the same situation, perhaps Afrikaans was her first language? You can hear a smidge of the accent when she said Afrikaans. (Family is South African for reference)

I agree with you for the most part. But often vowel and consonant sounds are different in different languages. I actually appreciate that Ellen respects non-American heritage enough to want others to pronounce their names correctly. I consider myself better than average with pronunciation and languages and I wouldn't have assumed that the "h" in "Behati" was silent. I also learned how to correctly pronounce "Charlize Theron" when Ellen had her on the show.
Perfumaphilia *I like this too about Ellen, that she’ll ask people how they pronounce their name* instead of just butchering their name all the way through the interview like many other interviewers do. It’s better to ask, than pretend it’s rude to not know, and think you know and just get it all wrong.
It's the first time I hear Behati talk about the fact that her parents native language is Afrikaans (therefore it's also hers).
I have never found a single interview of her or Candice speaking in Afrikaans, which is really a shame because you can find many clips of Charlize Theron speaking it.
She is a wonderful person and she is very funny. It's a shame she never appears on late shows.
