You're smart to take such care with lead and other heavy elements. Repeated exposure can have some nasty effects on the human body. Thanks for the upload!
When I was a kid, we used lead in so many things and it was used without a care in the world! I as a child would cut it with tin snips, no gloves etc or play with how easily it bends and is heavy.
@@jakobhalskov I love lead for its history. It’s one of 9 elements that the Romans knew about and named (though the unknowingly used way more). The Romans knew of Lead, Copper, Gold, Silver, Tin, Mercury, Iron, and 2 non-metals Sulfur and Carbon.
Any strong magnet will do; it is just a matter of how much you can pick up at a time. It helps to have something between the magnet and the sand to be able to separate it.

Thanks for acknowledging this Steve - better safe than sorry when handling lead and stuff like this!

Yeah, it is a fascinating materail, which just requires some respect. Luckily we are much more aware of its dangers nowadays. Wish you the best!
Where I'm from kids used to cast figurines and toys out of lead because it melts so easily
