[HoI4] AI Only Timelapse - Germany w/ Atomic Bombs in 1936?

- This HoI4 AI only "historic" scenario gives Germany AI nuclear reactors in 1936, and it tries to answer the question of what would happen if Germany had atomic bombs in WW2. Complicating matters, the Soviets are once again expecting an Axis invasion from Europe and will not scatter and flee the Eastern Front when Operation Barbarossa begins. Will Germany lead the world by example and show the Allies & Comintern it wouldn't use the nuclear option?

Why did Axis AI spare Soviets by only lobbing 2 nukes out at it? I was expecting the screen to go white at Barbarossa.
because they wanted to expand their population in the land, and too much radiation is a no no, so they use it sparingly
Soviet AI usually dots out the sun with planes along the front, especially in the early stages of Barbarossa, when it has plenty of them. Axis at this point most probably had their planes still over the channel or Britain itself, so they would not hit the threshold. In the west of course it went full berserk by making France and England glow-in-the-dark.
Probably a game calculation on perceived threats led them to bombing the UK (Allies) more than the Soviets (Comintern). Same reasoning for why Yugoslavia wasn't instantly nuked, but Athens was twice.
My guess is that they ran out of nukes from blasting the UK out of existence at the start of the war.

Actually no it wouldn't, because during cold war there were about 2100 nuclear bombs dropped to test them, and look the earth is fine... kind of.
Remember, the bombs in this time period were pretty small and were not that radioactive. Heck, they only do a fraction of explosive damage that most modern nukes can do. They were just pretty much a bigger bomb, another stepping stone in history.
thats how it goes when you gang up on a country with nukes haha.
This question is for anybody who notices: Between the Expect AI and Total War AI what's the difference between the two AI systems since both seem to be smarter then the Vanilla AI because they sent the majority of their forces to the front lines in massive force but it seems like they operate differently? So what's the difference between the two AI mods and which is smarter then the other?
This roughly explains the general scheme of things with AI: "In some places the mod has its own AI in place for certain things. In other places it basically uses the vanilla AI but the mod gives it better instructions than vanilla

. More like a collection of dozen or more separate AIs.". So it looks like between EAI and TW, authors tweak aspects of it to their own preference.
hello i dont know if you still play hoi4 but im a new player and i have a question : im playing brazil, and no ai declares war on me, i receive no ideology pressure from anyone,i loved the game but it seems empty and lonely ! its like only the ai from countries that were originaly in the war do actualy something, is it because its history accurate? even when i attack a country that is guaranteed by the USA, the americans do nothing, theres no pop up message of a sanction or else, nothing ! i find the ai in this game very dumb actually
@@GameWatcher545 another question, is there a way to play a map were every country do his own strategy and not always that historical timline were the axis loses? i would like to play a more dynamic game ,and if possible with a map generator,and not the same earth map

Started doing these by watching Christopher's videos actually :) aware of Drew though but as I said above I did not watch his videos in years. He makes great videos of course, but I really personally prefer a more serious realistic theme. If we can fit these in the category. I see he is making videos where he gives random nations 50 nukes or so, nah I wouldn't do or watch stuff like that, atm. Drew is far better at covering such things then I would be.

HOI4 Abombs major purpose is to reduces enemy war support and increase surrender rate. Damages buildings and killing units are just side effects.

The nukes only killed ~80k each. They killed 3.5 million in total. That’s only 10% of the population.

Aware of Drew Durnil of course but please, it is Germany with nukes. Just a basic idea. I watched a few of his videos a couple years back but I did not get the idea from Drew. If you're going to call something a steal at least wait till I do something more creative and then tell me that internet has already done it.
@@GameWatcher545 Drew Durnil indeed made a video with the same scenario once, but what I recalled is that in Drew's video, Germany ended up dead pretty quickly. There's no problem to have the same scenario. This timelapse video is 10/10 very good
