- In this relaxing ASMR maps video I am looking at an atlas with maps of Ireland on a paper map and doing some map tracing using a bamboo stick pointer.
I am speaking in a male deep voice with a Welsh accent and switch between soft spoken and whisper voice. Today we look at Ireland / Éire.

Dublins still great city. Also like some of the less visited towns on the east coast as well tbh. Some Proper pub towns there.

I lived in Galway for almost 4 yeers when I did my bachelor and I loved it ❤ I'm still thinking of going back to visit hopefully soon. This video has helped me relax and I am about to fall asleep thank you ❤

Worth while trip is along the Mourne mts coast and Carlingford lough, Carlingfords really scenic spot and Dundalk down the road is also a nice town, great pub scene.
Would definitely recommend Cork, Galway or Sligo for anyone looking to come to Ireland. All of these cities are close to a Gaeltacht, have cheaper accommodation than Dublin and are right beside beautiful landscapes on the Wild Atlantic way. (E.g. Kerry Coast, Clew Bay and Crogh Patrick and Sliabh League and Bundoran).
For anyone looking for an urban experience go to Belfast as Dublin is 💩 and just any other city.

Dublin is a nicer city than belfast dublin is just so damn expensive

Dublin has grown in size and population so much and so fast it has kind of become separated from the rest of Ireland. It's like it has entered an international fast lane at odds with what is a natural slower and more considered Irish way of life.
London is the same. It doesn't feel like England / UK but a different country

And I agree Dublin does not reflect much of what true Irishness is about. From walking around the city alone you can’t tell you’re in Ireland, there’s nothing that distinguishes it from any other city. Much better off going to The Wild Atlantic Way (West coast) for authentic Ireland!
Athlone is big-ish but Longford is not big. It only has 10k. They’re all dwarfed by likes of Drogheda, Dundalk & Swords in terms of towns.

They really aren’t, like they’re minute in size in comparison and don’t have a fraction of the amenities and restaurants, as someone from neither of the 3.

I don't think you can sail from Cork direct to Wales any longer. There used to be a direct service between Swansea and Cork but it was withdrawn some time ago, I believe.

Well, if my trip were a day later back in 2020 it would have been cancelled. We flew home and Ireland closed the next day! :( So sad you didn't get to go!

have a lifelong dream to visit ireland because i’ve always loved irish folkmusic, so i’d like to pay a visit some graves of a couple of musicians. but as you said, i have always been told not to go, or at least not plan the trip to mainly be in dublin anyways. but i’d be happy with some pints of guiness and some live folkmusic, but surely i’ll visit galway and more as well. 💚🤍🧡
Dublin is a little overrated (it is still nice) but the rest of the country is so awesome, you'd miss it just going to Dublin.

You are correct about Dublin in my opinion, very overrated
In truth, I panicked a bit after recording this because I was worried that someone would take offense. Every comment (so far) has agreed with me about Dublin. I am off the hook!

I have strong ancestry in Ireland (as for most brits), and I have visited the north but not the republic my dad is Irish (north) and although most of my Irish heritage is northern I have family from the south
I think most of Liverpool are Irish! I am part Irish too (a tiny bit).
