    Amigo, all your videos are great. Invaluable for a new Hiace owner. It would be so helpful if you organized the maintenance/repair videos in a playlist. Just easier for the droves of us whatching these to find them. Just an idea! Thanks and please keep making videos!

    Good stuff man. Way more prepared to make videos than I was! Haha bravo. See you out on the road dude!

    Nice video! I ordered the kit and was trying to figure out where the vacuum cap went. You pointed toward the end of the video to EGR switches, the vacuum hoses, EGR solenoid, EGR butterfly. Did you end up removing all of those?

      @TheBroDojo  3 роки тому +1

      I kept them all in place in case I ever sell the van and someone needs to put all the EGR crap back for emissions testing.

    did deleting the egr and the mess of vacuum lines trigger any check engine lights? also when you removed the small butterfly did you notice any rougher idle or shut down? just trying to get an opinion from some one who has actually done this because everyone online says one thing or the other. Cheers! and great tutorial.

      All I did was the block off plates and left everything in place in case next owner wanted to put it all back for emissions testing. I only caped the line that came right off the EGR valve and left all the other little things in the vacuum line working. Also never removed the small valve as I didn’t think necessary as it is in the open position by default from what I can tell.

    IS the process the same for the 3L engine? Also, has there been a noticeable difference in the way the van runs after installing it?

      @TheBroDojo  3 роки тому

      Im not familiar with the 3L setup but should be pretty straight forward and similar. Van runs pretty much the same as before from what I can tell, just more peace of mind of not having to worry about the EGR failing/getting stuck.

    Hey, thanks for the video. Does this specific kit work for all 1KZ-TE ? as I have a 90 series land cruiser prado.

    • @TheBroDojo
      @TheBroDojo  2 роки тому

      Yes it will. I have a 90 Prado as well now.

      @@TheBroDojo hello friend, I have a prado j90 with 1kz-te, I am preparing it to cross-country and now I am changing the turbo, I want to eliminate the EGR, I wanted to ask you if you throw any checks on the computer? And if it has given you any problem?, Greetings.

    I'm suspecting my egr valve is faulty (trouble starting, bad idle when cold, bad fuel economy), would an egr block help with that?

    • @TheBroDojo
      @TheBroDojo  2 роки тому

      Its possible. Hard to tell if that's the only thing wrong until you block it off or test to see if the EGR valve is moving at all.

      @@TheBroDojo I actually just went ahead and ordered the kit so I'll know soon enough if that's the issue!

      @@odatte I did and shortly after had the turbo fail on me. I'm suspecting there was an oil leak in the turbo that was causing the problems in the first place

      @@robinarens ah yes, that could be problematic for sure, did you notice some benefits to blocking the EGR, cleaner oil? Runs smoother? Better fuel mileage? Thanks again

    I ended up using the kit and doing the EGR delete. Have you noticed any issues with more of a "shudder" when turning off the engine? I read around online and sounds like the throttle body butterfly may be the culprit. I reached out to Hiace Southeast but haven't heard back yet.

    • @TheBroDojo
      @TheBroDojo  3 роки тому

      Mine acts pretty much the same as before. I’ve read online as well that removing some of the butterfly/throttle plates can make shut down rougher, but have no experience with that.

  • @tacticalant3841
    @tacticalant3841 3 роки тому

    So any noticeable engine temp increase since the delete?

    • @TheBroDojo
      @TheBroDojo  3 роки тому

      In the process of getting radiator fixed so haven’t run with it yet. I haven’t heard that engine temps would increase? Where did you here that?

      The Bro Dojo - i watched this video ua-cam.com/video/15oJEyx-JK8/v-deo.html, he explains the purpose for the egr is to cycle exhaust gas into the intake to reduce combustible gasses, thus cooling the engine and reducing emissions.

    • @TheBroDojo
      @TheBroDojo  3 роки тому +3

      The EGR is for emissions to reduce NOx (combustable gas), and is closed during full throttle/power anyway, so engine temps aren't going to be any different. If it is faulty and or clogged, then it'll let the exhaust in the intake and ruin your power. It would make the air temps slightly cooler during idle/low throttle when it is actually open, only because it diluting the O2 and burning off some NOx. Ive never heard of anyone having problems with removing the EGR or having higher temps because it.
