    By watching rider positions and helmets they wear it all comes down to how the lid fits the rider and flows with the rest of the body. No lid will be perfect for every rider that wears it it’s the entire package

      Definitely. That’s why I mentioned exactly that in the beginning of the video.

    Good video. The only reason you said it doesn't make sense is that you based your opinion on tunnel tests that you saw on UA-cam.
    A perfect example that contradicts tunnel results is that, with side winds, shallow wheels are faster than deep rims and disk rims.
    From the little videos that you showed, you can already see that you weren't following a straight line, probably because of the side winds.

      Yeah I definitely agree with that one. It was super hard to go on a straight line although that clip u saw was just b roll it was recorded after it wasn’t the actual effort and seems the slower u go the harder it is to go on a straight line lol.

      @@DennisGonzalez101 lol that's true. It's even hard to walk slowly in a straight line without making a lot of effort.

    I would rate ventilation as a critical factor in hot conditions for a long effort. TT helmet without a visor could be a good compromise.

      Wow great point to be honest never even thought of that at all. Guess I’m running another test. TT with and without visor. Thx for that 🙏

    The Kask looks like it fits your head more closely than the Evade. The interface with sunglasses is much tighter.
    It could be that for you, the Kask is more aero even though it's vented. I wonder if adjusting the Evade angle on your head would help.
    The pros will size down their helmets if possible, even taking out all the pads. That's an aero trick they use.

      Great insight. That’s exactly what I mention with the gap between the glasses and the top of the helmet and I felt I had to look up a lot more with the evade. With me being in Florida make me want to switch to just running vented helmets rather than aero road like I have been doing even on hot 4h gravel races I think the cooling benefits are also a must. Although I did the test back to back my Average HR was lower on the vented helmet as well.

      AG2R for example does the opposite with their aero road helmet and sizes up presumably to cover the shoulders better.

    and on the vented black helmet your heart rate was lower 165 vs aero 168

    • @DennisGonzalez101
      @DennisGonzalez101  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes absolutely notice that as well. That’s why most riders for training don’t use their TT helmets they go out on their normal road bike one. It was also few deg hotter by the time I was on the vented helmet than the other 2 as well. So cooling is something to keep in mind but unfortunately on a TT the time gains outweigh the cooling effect of a slower helmet.

    think, about all kinds of nets 🥅 is aero in all directions because of the opening holes, now the aero helmet is limited on the wind direction it’s also a wind stopper or wind shifter, when the wind hits the helmet it moves it to a different direction, before the race check wind speed and direction and do a small 5min test with the black vent helmet and the aero helmet, i think black helmet shows a better result with a lower heart rate at a similar power,
