  • I take a walk in London during the evening rush hour from the City of London to London Bridge, Tower Bridge, and Borough Market. London is the largest city in western Europe, and home to over 9 million people. It was really quite eye opening to see so many people waiting for pubs and walking around. I also pass by the Tower of London, an old castle with much history.

    London is so beautiful. I’m thinking of all the noise and chaos on the Brooklyn Bridge these days and shaking my head. Missing the UK more than ever right now. Thanks for this beautiful video 💕🇬🇧

    Another fabulous walk! The city lights in the evening give a gorgeous view of Tower Bridge. Thanks for sharing. Away from the city of London, further along the river to the east is Canary Wharf. It is the CBD of London with numerous banks. It reminds me a little of the financial district in Manhattan. Best seen from Rotherhithe on the other side, especially at night. There is a tube to Canada Water and a ferry across to Canary Wharf from outside the Hilton Doubletree Hotel. I know you have so much to see and do, but thought I'd mention it, as it is a spectacular view.

    Hi Ak, thanks for the walk, re the Tower of London, you can walk around the south side of the tower, if you noticed on both sides of Tower bridge there are a set of stairs you went down the south side stairs well on the northern side that'll lead you through a arch and to a set of black gates which may look shut but on the right hand side of these gates is the pedestrian entrance it's part of the north bank Thames Path we have right of way, the best time to walk there is during the day there's more to see.

    The London Tower looks so magical at night! 😍 I was surprised to learn London Bridge's design looks so simple. Leadenhall Market looks so charming, and it'll be cool to see the activities at Borough Market when it's open. Thank you for sharing this night stroll, AK! 🤗

    19:55 - There is a free public path along the river in front of the Tower of London and you can reach the Tower Bridge and go below it. There are these huge doors there that are closed at night, unfortunately, but they are open during the day and it is very beautiful. Our hotel room was facing that exact location. This is the iconic location with the benches and the view of the bridge featured in many movies, videos and you can find some amazing pictures online. I will post a video with it from our last trip to London soon.

    Enjoying your London trip. Found your ride on the double-decker bus wonderful as well as the eating of your gooey dessert. I know it's expensive to do these trips. So, I'll make sure that I send you some money every once in awhile. Your natural interactive approach is appreciated. It feels like I am just walking beside you.
    Tried super chat and it didn't work. I have sent by PayPal before so I will do it that way.

      Good to hear that you received the support, okay. It must have been a big learning curve for you to do it as a creator as far as how you interact with UA-cam. I will have to figure out why the youtube super chat button was grayed out.
      Keep up the good work, and I enjoy your videos.

      Haha too busy telling everyone that the tube was more expensive in the rush hour. Sorry AK you need to look more right and left and upwards or you'll miss stuff 😉I am enjoying your take on London, and what you say, but most Americans are usually obsessed with our history not the Tube 😉🤣 and weather travelling on a boat was bumpy, or not, that's a new one on me 😀love it 🥰😂

      The Monument was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Robert Hooke, both of them scientists as well as architects, and it was intended to function as a laboratory for studying gravity, pendulums, barometric pressures, etc. and to house a Zenith telescope (there is a hole at the top).

      I was shocked when I went to LA but I've heard that is the worst of it. As in, a homeless village.

    • @zupermaus9276
      @zupermaus9276 9 місяців тому +1

      There is homelessness but not much compared to US cities, as there's more of a social safety net in Europe - if you're out of work, have health/ mental health issues, trauma, addiction, or a new arrival to the city, the state will provide (which is actually cheaper to the society / economy than not providing, and dealing with the subsequent fall-out in crime, security costs, retail losses, business abandonment and those spiralling into addiction). London still has a big housing problem, and many registered homeless, but they get accommodation in hotels, hostels and council housing until they find work or get a payrise - street homelessness is relatively rare, though it does exist, and begging is outlawed though largely tolerated (they usually get moved on, though not charged).
