However, at a certain point seeing the same “I’m surprised this game is still online they should just give up” type comments from people who probably don’t even play the game is what I believe he’s more talking about as opposed to the actual criticism comments. A comment that’s saying something like “The leveling system seems way too much like a slog and the itemization completely turns me off from the game” is drastically different
If you're just starting, then the view is different. You still have a lot of content to explore. Once you do everything, playing a season for only a week or two isn't abandoning the game.
d4 is fun to some extent like many games but it lacks so much and the potential and what its supposed to be is not near what ppl expected even after 5 seasons..
Games were easier to make and cost less. Check out POE2 they are realeasing early access in Nov with a year min till full access. It had delays already.

Games take more time and money, we expect more now, you can't go and make Diablo 2 or POE 1 and expect it to be a big hit right now. I to would rather see games finished on release. POE will not win as a business, they will never make as many sales. I think Carls junior has better burgers than Mcdonalds but they will never beat Mcdonalds at the sales. Hey thanks for making sweet videos on d4. I just got here, 2nd day playing. Glad to find a goto source for info. I've got alot to learn and at the moment super curious about when and whats going to happen to my progress when the new season starts.
I mostly agree with your take on Diablo 4 and "don't play it, if you don't like" but I also understand why some people are angry about D4 not being what it could have been. Of course they could just ignore the game and pay something else. But most of them have been waiting for a significant amount of time in order to play a new Diablo title and they now feel robbed by Blizzard. Diablo 4 in this case isn't just easily replaced by any other game they could be playing instead. They wanted a Diablo they would like and they didn't get it, so they are angry about that. I'm not saying it's a reasonable position to have, I'm simply saying that is what's happening.
Best Diablo they have made and a minority are upset. Disappointed I would understand but 1 year later and bitching on other game videos and streams is a mental disorder.
Hating is bad obviously, but you should criticize a bad feature or else any other company would do it too. Blizzard sometimes just think about money and sacrifice the game for it. If no one talks about it, it becomes standard.
i like the game, prefer it to poei also prefer last epoch to poe , i just hate the tempering in d4 i spend hours getting a decent rolled item only to fuck it up with a bad temper. and changing affix, it seems the game hates to give anything crit chance or crit dmg.
I am done with this season as well, it was fun. I am waiting for new expansion. Before that i am waiting for Age of Mythology , Retold. Super excited about that game, sadly it is not in Battle net account.
I think the people want the game to be fun NOW or for it to be fun the last season and play it then. They don't want to basically " pre-purchase " a game only for it to be fun or good 10 seasons down the line.
They couldn't deliver out of the gate or even within the first 9months of the game being out. They deserve scorn . IF they get the game to a point where it's fit for a day 1 release then they can move up to, good they fixed this trash. Blizzard isn't in rehab there's no 12 step for them so I don't buy and I keep my self respect by not participating in the self destructive path of AAA gaming.
Honestly I pop in and out of the game, still only play on eternal realm, I found the recent game (a few months ago) very enjoyable. Finished leveling my necro, re specced for minions, had fun with minions, although nowhere near min-maxed. Played my sorc some more, i think got him to 100 too, was sad when fireball started to fall off in NMDs, and literally impossible to do uber Lilith with. Granted i’m well aware of the fact end game SHOULD be min maxed to no end in order to comfortably complete it. But enjoying a build through 99% of the game only to get waffle stomped at the 1% because i’m not running peak minions, or lightning sphere sorc kiiiinda blows.
Welp for me the reason i am upset with the game is because i love the game series... and 70$ and a year worth of content and i felt like nothing is worth it to me lol its not a vendetta, its not being complacent with being ok with being drip fed content at a snail pace.. I grew up with diablo and i played diablo and diablo 2 till i couldn't no more lol to me its odd that we get masterpieces like elden ring and black myth wukong and people accept that this is how games are made but for these ARPGs its like so what the game is boring now just wait for it to get good? my intial investment shouldnt be a gamble and pray that some day i get some return on it.. its sad that gamers have this view point.. and for a studio such as blizzard just hitting flop after flop for literally GREED it boggles my mind how people just accept it as if its ok maybe im a old game that wants something more then just empty world and half baked ideas that will entertain me for a day or 2 or a week. The story and plot are so weak and boring and stale. i wish i could take people back in time and just get mind blown by the first inital play throughs of their older games from blizzard. I wish they would just makes games without trying to gouge the audience at every step. I don’t buy the additional content, but just being bombarded with it, and seeing it at every step like going to the seasons journey, or even having to interact with it for the blessings. It’s just aggressive and in your face, by design, and it’s really anti-consumer. I really worry how this stuff will end up affecting kids getting into gaming today. You look at wow, you pay £100-120 per year for a sub plus £40-£75 per expansion and the game still has an in-game store and an economy ruined by wow tokens. The head of Blizzard had the cheek to say users were too demanding for new content, while at the same time they’re making content piecemeal like this and having fewer raid tiers than ever. Diablo is going the same way now, they seem to be taking the Destiny business model of yearly expansions (It’s not working well for Destiny so I hope it burns them here too) The launch was a mess, the game is still missing a lot of features we had in D3, yet five months after launch they were already talking about having people pay for a new expansion, while also having an ingame store AND a season pass. It’s just a company of pure greed now. The expansion themes are uninspired as well, oh three greater evils, we gotta catch 'em all now? One at a time? What has the game become when a Diablo game doesn't even have Diablo in it so they can sell it to you down the road. I really despise modern Blizzard. I played the base game, and season one, then dropped it. The game felt like a F2P game with the store, and it getting "Better" before a dlc drop you'll need to purchase to continue is not a coincidence, it's the business model wow's been using for years.
I've been on that Poe>D3 train for years back when Poe still had 4 acts... But now years later D4>Poe. Poe is too much for my busy life now and Diablo IV is that loot pinata game that chills me the F out besides work. I play with people who find Poe just simply too difficult. The D4 devs have shown to actually listen to the critique so with time it became better for sure.

You flamed D4 when you thought it is bad and you didnt like it. But you are wondering about people who still flame it. That might be because they got a different opinion about what is good and what not. What they expect D4 to be. Hating and criticizing blizzard and anything associated with it is the cool thing to do these days. It’s easy content for A LOT of streamers too. A lot of the hate also comes from tribalistic POE fans, who apparently have selective memory when it comes to how that game was upon its release. They can’t stand the thought of an ARPG with a low barrier to entry that’s fun.

I guess I just don't understand why anyone would waste time in D4 when PoE is the best it's ever been right now. I'd honestly rather go for another run of Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, Diablo 2, POE or pretty much any ARPG out right now instead of running another run of D4. The character building just doesn't do it for me even a little bit. You play it for the story then it's over, not really a game you can continue grinding. There's literally 10,000% more content in POE alone right now.
Its like what Asmongold says, these people that perpetually say "D4 bad" are the people who can't admit that they are wrong now and will never accept the game being good. I went from loving diablo 4 in season 2-4. Now i do not like it anymore and have leaved the game. Group content was the nail in the coffin. And the level drop. The game have changed to much lately to still being the same game i bought. I had pre ordered expansion, but i got it refunded. Instead of keep trying to like the game, i just moved on and do try wow classic instead until better games comes out. Diablo 4 was my big dream, but did not end up as i hoped sadly. Maybe some day they make diablo 5 that is fun.

Agree. I think for us it’s a bit different because we had to learn how to play within the confines of the game design. There were no updates or patches to make improvements. And that’s how I still approach games, I play what’s there. Updates are the norm now. As updates are made, I adjust how I play to fit the confines of the game regardless if I like the changes made. If I like a game, I play it, if I don’t like a game, I don’t. But when I don’t like a game, I don’t make comments about it on videos or related forums. It’s so pointless.
I honestly think the D4 hate comes from people that just hate Blizzard the company and are chronically online old people, and since ARPGs are such a time sink, if your not playing the right one your hated and a loser... for some reason.. Or also people that are devout PoE fans that for some reason are threatened by Diablo 4... when both games could be fun and successful as rival games to push each other further as ARPGs. My two cents :)

None is this is accurate. I grew up playing D1 and D2 and still love D2R. I’ve played several D4 seasons and the end game is non-existent. That’s why D4 sucks. PoE has a steep learning curve but that franchise is definitely not threatened by the trash Blizzard has been producing. They are simply trying to grab cash..

Companies only do it because people buy it , and more people are buying then they ever have and more players in games. The companies are making MASSIVELY more money . If people didn't want it , they wouldn't buy it . Gaming industry has exploded so it's clearly what the public wants regardless of short sighted or selfish opinions. Industry is about the numbers and always has been . You might not like how things are but shit tons are fine with it , and alot more of them than ever before . It's really as simple as at your job would you rather get 1$ per hour for your work or 500$ those are the only 2 choices . Same full time job with same requirements, zero difference except for pay do you choose 1 or 500? Telling people to choose 1$ so you can enjoy the feeling of 500$ without doing any of the work is pathetic fans .

With all the cosmetics in the store, the up front price for the game I paid and the Xbox live core I have to pay, I don’t want to pay for expansions too. It’s just getting too expensive. I’m tapping out.
The truth is poe didn't have any competitors for too long. It's hardcore community is on the fence. Even poe 2 announcements are right after the diablo ones. Imo there is some wierd fear/hate relation here.
I think the personal vendetta against D4 has less to do with the game, and more to do with Blizzard as a whole. Across all their IPs, they've managed to piss off a lot of old fans, who kept getting roped back in, and burned again. It's created a really unhealthy relationship between old gamers and the company.
I’m old, and I understand sometimes companies make good things and sometimes they make bad things. But then again, I have no relationship or loyalty with any company. I buy the stuff I like and don’t buy the stuff I don’t. My expectations for a for profit company is for them to make money. I am not, nor ever will be, the target audience for every single product being released by a company. And just because I liked/disliked a previous product, does not mean I will like/dislike the next product.
The d4 seasons outside of 3 have been pretty good. I completely agree! I walk away from it from time to time and then come back when I want to try something different. Definitely there are a lot of troll or bot comments. Wish there was an easier way to filter that garbage out
I love DIablo IV, though it's shelf life every season is quite short at 30-40 hours; that's not too bad for the investment. My problem with the game is just bad luck. I mostly want to play a single character a season, and with vision issues I can't do Uber Lilith. I have used all by boss materials for S4 and S5 trying to get Mythic Uniques and have never seen one, and it seems that all the feedback for T7-8 Infernal Hordes is "Make sure you have the right Mythic Uniques". I don't because in 40-50 Tormented Boss kills I have never seen one; so the game just hard ends. As you said, No Man's Sky is a lot of fun now, so that's where I am spending my time. But I am really looking forward to the D4 expansion.
I've played d4 since launch, i love it and this season my landslide druid is literally a hulk smasher destroyer of everything, Then i'll get bored and not touch diablo until next season
D4 is fun, but I don't see a point in playing it for prolonged months. Grim Dawn is super cool, but same as above. PoE has crazy replayability simply due to the sheer depth and options, but ultimately don't play it more than a month (like 2-3 hours 3 or 4 days a week). These days I guess I just prefer playing through a game and relishing the experience in my memory, not everything requires thousands of hours of play time to enjoy it. Really excited for PoE 2, but mostly because even my wife wants to play it, and she doesn't play anything but mobile puzzle games.
I still enjoy D4. I don’t play it all day either, I play it for like 5 hours a week and main other games. I don’t think it’s an amazing game, but it’s a fun one and it’s getting better.
I understand and for the most part agree with the fact that if people dont like D4 then just dont play it. However, there is something to be said for the people who were disappointed in the direction that D4, and indeed D3 took, and when they originally said D4 was going to be a lot more like D2 it got people like me excited. That obviously doesn't give anyone the right to shit on people who do like the game though. I didn't like D4 at all and I wish it was more like D2. But I'm still happy for everyone who is enjoying D4 for what it is and I'm glad that they have it. Maybe I'm just old but I remember when people could have a difference of opinion about something and not scream like children about it.. Good video as always Darth love your content.

D4 went from an incomplete lesser ARPG experience to my favorite one. I absolutely love the Infernal Hordes this new season and how crazy the builds can get. They did an excellent job listening and making great changes. Things just need to be tidied up now. Farming boss mats needs to be a more interesting endgame. Right now doing braindead helltides is really where you land once you masterwork your gear. Its all about those mythics. More reason to do other content would be nice too. Nightmare dungeons and pit need some work. It would be nice to have legion events be more interesting too. Still with that those aren't huge problems. Overall its in a great spot. I really like infernal hordes, the crazy new builds, and the whole tempering/masterworking system.

I brought up my minor issues to balance out my comment because the game still isn't perfect, but what game is? These problems come up after you burned through your boss mats and have multiple mythics and things start to slow and dull a bit, but that's after like 40-50 hours. That's a good experience for me IMO, and even with my gripes I'm still playing so idk what to tell ya.

I personally don't enjoy D4 nearly as much as 1, 2 or 3. I don't think it's a BAD game but i definitely expected more from a big company like Blizzard. I've noticed the bashing on D4 isn't just in youtube comments. It's on xbox on the reviews part. It's on the Blizzard forums for the game. It's pretty much everywhere. I'd love to see it come around and truly be amazing. It just feels like 1 step forward and 2 steps back with some of their decisions with the game.

Industry only cares about revenues and playerbase count , those have and are the only metrics the industry uses to define success. In a nutshell , outsell everything but immortal in first few months than D1-3 did their first 2 years each combined = GOD TIER WIN D4 is first Diablo to go fuuuully international aiming for 2 billion+ gamers per launch . Not the regional small stuff like before . Also considering before their expansions every diablo had bad launches and underwhelming content till expansion that generally added the most popular content. D2 wasn't very good till 1.09D LoD by comparison. D3 was soso till necro added and seasons were better . And both of these games like every battlefield game had tech issues galore for many till expansion. Battlefield 4 still the winner at 2 years snd like 3 months to have last big issue from launch ironed out 😂
@DarkepyonX 2 billion gamers? I don't think they've even come close. I think D4 sold around 10-12 million or so. I mean that's not too bad. It's definitely not bringing back every single player. I've got friends who dropped it after season 1. One friend basically said D4 was so bad that it felt like an abusive relationship he kept going back to. But hopefully the expansion will bring at least half the players back.

However, at a certain point seeing the same “I’m surprised this game is still online they should just give up” type comments from people who probably don’t even play the game is what I believe he’s more talking about as opposed to the actual criticism comments. A comment that’s saying something like “The leveling system seems way too much like a slog and the itemization completely turns me off from the game” is drastically different

If you're just starting, then the view is different. You still have a lot of content to explore. Once you do everything, playing a season for only a week or two isn't abandoning the game.

I mostly agree with your take on Diablo 4 and "don't play it, if you don't like" but I also understand why some people are angry about D4 not being what it could have been. Of course they could just ignore the game and pay something else. But most of them have been waiting for a significant amount of time in order to play a new Diablo title and they now feel robbed by Blizzard. Diablo 4 in this case isn't just easily replaced by any other game they could be playing instead. They wanted a Diablo they would like and they didn't get it, so they are angry about that. I'm not saying it's a reasonable position to have, I'm simply saying that is what's happening.
Best Diablo they have made and a minority are upset. Disappointed I would understand but 1 year later and bitching on other game videos and streams is a mental disorder.

For me D4 is an ok game, I did enjoy S4, it's more like D3 was , play for 14h total get to paragon 700/GR100 and done.
I am done with this season as well, it was fun. I am waiting for new expansion.

I think the people want the game to be fun NOW or for it to be fun the last season and play it then. They don't want to basically " pre-purchase " a game only for it to be fun or good 10 seasons down the line.
They couldn't deliver out of the gate or even within the first 9months of the game being out. They deserve scorn . Honestly I pop in and out of the game, still only play on eternal realm, I found the recent game (a few months ago) very enjoyable. Finished leveling my necro, re specced for minions, had fun with minions, although nowhere near min-maxed. Played my sorc some more, i think got him to 100 too, was sad when fireball started to fall off in NMDs, and literally impossible to do uber Lilith with. Granted i’m well aware of the fact end game SHOULD be min maxed to no end in order to comfortably complete it. But enjoying a build through 99% of the game only to get waffle stomped at the 1% because i’m not running peak minions, or lightning sphere sorc kiiiinda blows.

You look at wow, you pay £100-120 per year for a sub plus £40-£75 per expansion and the game still has an in-game store and an economy ruined by wow tokens. The head of Blizzard had the cheek to say users were too demanding for new content, while at the same time they’re making content piecemeal like this and having fewer raid tiers than ever.
Diablo is going the same way now, they seem to be taking the Destiny business model of yearly expansions (It’s not working well for Destiny so I hope it burns them here too) The launch was a mess, the game is still missing a lot of features we had in D3, yet five months after launch they were already talking about having people pay for a new expansion, while also having an ingame store AND a season pass.
It’s just a company of pure greed now.
The expansion themes are uninspired as well, oh three greater evils, we gotta catch 'em all now? One at a time? What has the game become when a Diablo game doesn't even have Diablo in it so they can sell it to you down the road. I really despise modern Blizzard. I played the base game, and season one, then dropped it. The game felt like a F2P game with the store, and it getting "Better" before a dlc drop you'll need to purchase to continue is not a coincidence, it's the business model wow's been using for years.
I've been on that Poe>D3 train for years back when Poe still had 4 acts... But now years later D4>Poe. Poe is too much for my busy life now and Diablo IV is that loot pinata game that chills me the F out besides work. I play with people who find Poe just simply too difficult. The D4 devs have shown to actually listen to the critique so with time it became better for sure.

I guess I just don't understand why anyone would waste time in D4 when PoE is the best it's ever been right now. I'd honestly rather go for another run of Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, Diablo 2, POE or pretty much any ARPG out right now instead of running another run of D4. The character building just doesn't do it for me even a little bit. You play it for the story then it's over, not really a game you can continue grinding. There's literally 10,000% more content in POE alone right now.

Agree. I think for us it’s a bit different because we had to learn how to play within the confines of the game design. There were no updates or patches to make improvements.
And that’s how I still approach games, I play what’s there. Updates are the norm now. As updates are made, I adjust how I play to fit the confines of the game regardless if I like the changes made. If I like a game, I play it, if I don’t like a game, I don’t. But when I don’t like a game, I don’t make comments about it on videos or related forums. It’s so pointless.

None is this is accurate. I grew up playing D1 and D2 and still love D2R. I’ve played several D4 seasons and the end game is non-existent. That’s why D4 sucks. PoE has a steep learning curve but that franchise is definitely not threatened by the trash Blizzard has been producing. They are simply trying to grab cash..

I think the personal vendetta against D4 has less to do with the game, and more to do with Blizzard as a whole. Across all their IPs, they've managed to piss off a lot of old fans, who kept getting roped back in, and burned again. It's created a really unhealthy relationship between old gamers and the company.
I’m old, and I understand sometimes companies make good things and sometimes they make bad things. But then again, I have no relationship or loyalty with any company. I buy the stuff I like and don’t buy the stuff I don’t. My expectations for a for profit company is for them to make money. I am not, nor ever will be, the target audience for every single product being released by a company. And just because I liked/disliked a previous product, does not mean I will like/dislike the next product.

The d4 seasons outside of 3 have been pretty good. I completely agree! I walk away from it from time to time and then come back when I want to try something different. Definitely there are a lot of troll or bot comments. Wish there was an easier way to filter that garbage out
I love DIablo IV, though it's shelf life every season is quite short at 30-40 hours; that's not too bad for the investment. My problem with the game is just bad luck. I mostly want to play a single character a season, and with vision issues I can't do Uber Lilith. I have used all by boss materials for S4 and S5 trying to get Mythic Uniques and have never seen one, and it seems that all the feedback for T7-8 Infernal Hordes is "Make sure you have the right Mythic Uniques". I don't because in 40-50 Tormented Boss kills I have never seen one; so the game just hard ends.
As you said, No Man's Sky is a lot of fun now, so that's where I am spending my time.
But I am really looking forward to the D4 expansion.

I've played d4 since launch, i love it and this season my landslide druid is literally a hulk smasher destroyer of everything, Then i'll get bored and not touch diablo until next season
Im having a blast in season 5 ,when i get bored,i play guitar,simple
D4 is fun, but I don't see a point in playing it for prolonged months.
Grim Dawn is super cool, but same as above.
PoE has crazy replayability simply due to the sheer depth and options, but ultimately don't play it more than a month (like 2-3 hours 3 or 4 days a week).
These days I guess I just prefer playing through a game and relishing the experience in my memory, not everything requires thousands of hours of play time to enjoy it.
Really excited for PoE 2, but mostly because even my wife wants to play it, and she doesn't play anything but mobile puzzle games.
I still enjoy D4. I don’t play it all day either, I play it for like 5 hours a week and main other games. I don’t think it’s an amazing game, but it’s a fun one and it’s getting better.
I understand and for the most part agree with the fact that if people dont like D4 then just dont play it. However, there is something to be said for the people who were disappointed in the direction that D4, and indeed D3 took, and when they originally said D4 was going to be a lot more like D2 it got people like me excited. That obviously doesn't give anyone the right to shit on people who do like the game though. I didn't like D4 at all and I wish it was more like D2. But I'm still happy for everyone who is enjoying D4 for what it is and I'm glad that they have it. Maybe I'm just old but I remember when people could have a difference of opinion about something and not scream like children about it.. Good video as always Darth love your content.

D4 went from an incomplete lesser ARPG experience to my favorite one. I absolutely love the Infernal Hordes this new season and how crazy the builds can get. They did an excellent job listening and making great changes.
Things just need to be tidied up now. Farming boss mats needs to be a more interesting endgame. Right now doing braindead helltides is really where you land once you masterwork your gear. Its all about those mythics. More reason to do other content would be nice too. Nightmare dungeons and pit need some work. It would be nice to have legion events be more interesting too.
Still with that those aren't huge problems. Overall its in a great spot. I really like infernal hordes, the crazy new builds, and the whole tempering/masterworking system.
honestly as someone that played d4 and hasn’t returned since s1, this just reads like cope, man. i left because the endgame was lacking. you’re saying the endgame is still lacking, but somehow it is now your favorite arpg.
@@SuperAwesomeElliot Its really not a cope. I objectively played this way more than any season and got farther into endgame than I ever have. I brought up my minor issues to balance out my comment because the game still isn't perfect, but what game is?
These problems come up after you burned through your boss mats and have multiple mythics and things start to slow and dull a bit, but that's after like 40-50 hours. That's a good experience for me IMO, and even with my gripes I'm still playing so idk what to tell ya.
The D4 content DM makes: Yea D4 has a decent update I gueeeess but It doesnt remake the game for me. BUT HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT PoE DID HOLY SHIT DOWNLOAD THAT PLEASE I GOT A LOT RIDING ON IT.
I personally don't enjoy D4 nearly as much as 1, 2 or 3. I don't think it's a BAD game but i definitely expected more from a big company like Blizzard. I've noticed the bashing on D4 isn't just in youtube comments. It's on xbox on the reviews part. It's on the Blizzard forums for the game. It's pretty much everywhere. I'd love to see it come around and truly be amazing. It just feels like 1 step forward and 2 steps back with some of their decisions with the game.
Bashers are stupid and with numbers d4 has had Blizzard in party mode .
Industry only cares about revenues and playerbase count , those have and are the only metrics the industry uses to define success.
In a nutshell , outsell everything but immortal in first few months than D1-3 did their first 2 years each combined = GOD TIER WIN
D4 is first Diablo to go fuuuully international aiming for 2 billion+ gamers per launch . Not the regional small stuff like before .
Also considering before their expansions every diablo had bad launches and underwhelming content till expansion that generally added the most popular content.
D2 wasn't very good till 1.09D LoD by comparison.
D3 was soso till necro added and seasons were better .
And both of these games like every battlefield game had tech issues galore for many till expansion.
Battlefield 4 still the winner at 2 years snd like 3 months to have last big issue from launch ironed out 😂
@DarkepyonX 2 billion gamers? I don't think they've even come close. I think D4 sold around 10-12 million or so. I mean that's not too bad. It's definitely not bringing back every single player. I've got friends who dropped it after season 1. One friend basically said D4 was so bad that it felt like an abusive relationship he kept going back to. But hopefully the expansion will bring at least half the players back.
D4 Bad
