Draft and develop model is very difficult without instructors, technology and infrastructure. How did all these things rot on the vine if this is the "best " approach and model for sustained winning. BDW2 talks in circles. Likewise, BDW3 now admits that there are "cycles" which he steadfastly refuted for many years. Any talk of "cycles" was forbidden even as recently as last year.

These 2 have no love for this team! Cheap ass owners!

Baseball existed a 100 years without the "tank and rebuild" system.
Teams successfully fielded winning teams and still had good farm systems.
I still think this managements way of thumbing their nose at the fans who boycotted the games. BDWIII as much said so in an interview. If they are not gonna try to win I won't try to watch.

Bingo. That's how I feel too. The amount of disdain for the fans is sobering. This is all very reminiscent of the Busch family. This team has been irrelevant for over a decade. Just sell.

Draft and develop and you had 7 instructors for the entire minor league? That's a lie. He's a own and make millions.

I’m not surprised by their financial situation. Their operating income (profit) was $57 million in 2023, but payroll was $125 mil in 2025. Which means they likely poured everything back in from 2024. Like they said they did. That’s still not enough to even cover their payroll.
I don’t think folks understand the difference between revenue and profit. It costs hundreds of millions annually to simply operate a professional sports organization.
The DeWitts don’t and never have sounded like they were made of money for professional sports org owners. Their other businesses don’t sound very profitable at all.

Dewitt’s are worth $3 billion. Headed for the poor house. MLB gives each team around $75-$90 million each year from tv rights. Dewitt’s keeps the revenue from the restaurant, ballpark village and souvenirs are separate from the team. Never explained where all this money went. Cry me a river. Dewitt’s have made Billions with owning the Cardinals organization.

Softball questions and vague answers. Typical
It is obvious to me Dewitt got himself on a ledge with ballpark village. That is mostly likely why he cheap out on the organization especially the minors. Getting around $90 from the mlb. Now want the payroll close to $120 million.
Fans fault for not continuing hitting over 3 million. He owns the bars, parking and restaurant around the stadium. Prices keep going up and he is crying about payroll.

Yes his devotion to Mo was his fatal flaw. But what did Nitwitt do? He put Mo in charge for 2025!

Always been draft and develop when you downsized minor league teams, coordinators etc yet grew ballpark village and other revenue streams. You milked this team. Shame!

If you try to put a winner on the field it will improve the game day experience. Bill III needs to rethink his marketing tactics. Social media has helped spread the word about how this organization took advantage of the fans. That’s why they stopped going to the games.

I wish they would just sell the Cardinals. We won't ever get back to winning with these people.

If you’ve always been drafting and development guy why did you let it deteriorate under MO’s tutelage - over a 13 year period? I’m talking about after Correa went to jail and MO’s been on his own to take care of the organization.

I’m all for an organizational reset, but this offseason has proven that they have no idea how to operate in todays environment.. Bloom needs to take over asap so we can utilize a fresh perspective

All you guys with the dewitts should sell the team mentality name me 5 better owners in baseball. They are by far the best owners in the national league and American league central. This is alot of recency bias. Everyteam does this at one point or another.
