  • A few people messaged me on how I set up the GBS for low & slow. I searched a bunch of different setups and found one that I liked, so that is the one that I am using for now. That may change in the future, but I am happy with how this one is working.
    Rock On!!!

    This is the exact way I have been cooking Brisket, Wings, Whole Chicken, and Seriously Seared Steak for years. You are right on target.

    One of the first videos I’ve seen that’s not that dang slow and sear. Between this and the snake method is the way to cook. Great video

    That 5 or 6 lit brisket suggestion is the best advice anyone could give if they want to start off low and slow and not waste a ton of coals.

    As soon as you said, "It's too early for beer", I shut it off.
    Kidding of course; I live in Wisconsin.

      There are a # of low & slow set ups out there and I use this one about a quarter of the time. It just depend on my mood and my beer intake at the time.

      Thanks, Brother. This system seems to work well, just as with any natural fired smoking system, you have to fuck with the vents throughout the cook. I am happy with the results so far.

    I like it that your solution is not to reach deep into your pocket for a Slow n Sear or some other overpriced gadget. This way you have more beer money RTFO 😆😋👍

    • @CGBS4744
      @CGBS4744  5 років тому +2

      Thanks Pete, I actually do own the product that you mentioned, I bought one when they first came out and it is very useful as a large charcoal basket, but not essential for a kettle user. I don't need to rant and rave about it like most kettle users do, they just like to wash balls. I still do use this fire brick method for some of my cooks. It works very well and costs less than $10. More money for beer is always a good thing. Cheers Buddy.
