not necessarily, the boarding school that I went too was very very strict, 10pm lights out, very structured days, classes from 7am to 5pm and so on. just depends on the school
sage claycomb her boarding school seems very different from the ones I've attended - I think American schools are much more like college than UK/European boarding schools where you have old fashioned uniforms, Latin & Greek, and weird traditions. Her school seems so nice and chill compared to mine
There are American schools that aren't like that. Several states have special high school programs on college campus for advanced students. Those schools do run a lot like a college because it's being run by a college. That's the type of school she goes to, not a regular boarding school.
+Sierra Fields a boarding school is a school where you live. We are funded by the state so no we don't pay tuition but we do pay room and board which is included in private boarding school tuition
My God is that a damn nice boarding school. Meanwhile I just learned that the company that supplies the food to our school also supplies it to all the prisons in the country.
I don't know why so many people think boarding school is so bad but my mom went to a prestigious one in London when she was in high school and it was like we're all the rich kids went or something and it was so that they could do better and get into a good college not so that the parents don't have to deal with the kids anymore
Lara S Actually did you know that there are different types of boarding schools? Depending on the school, teachers don't have to have teaching degrees or anything
Lara S agreed! Im in college and would have killed to have gone to boarding school for HS. Seems so similar to college & no one wants to leave college soooo boarding school seems like it would be awesome 🙌🏻
Yes but they're awful if you're not ditch because its all about connections, and if you're poor you likely don't have any so there's no reason for anyone even the teachers to be nice to you. My gran got into one on scholarship and it was dreadful.
If I was sick for a Day I had to tell a teacher and then I could go back to the dorm for the Day. If someone was really sick they had to go home for the rest of the week (Our school was closed on the weekends anyways so it was normal to go home every week). Bonus if you're sick monday/tuesday and feel pretty much okay again on wednesday but aren't allowed to Come back for the Rest and just have off at home.
+Lauren Shelton yes I would definitely recommend it! I'd recommend visiting and really studying up on what the school is like before you enroll but I love it!
Camille Mae so you couldn't go to a normal school? Do all people take medication there? I have ADHD and I have quite some problems with it but with medication I'm fine most of the time
this is really interesting, thank you! Never knew what an American boarding school was like! Though, if I was still at school and had to go to a boarding school, it'd be my idea of absolute hell. I'm a super private introvert, and also being so regimented and controlled would drive me mad! Not to say this isn't a great experience 👆🏻 I just think I would go insane! Keep up the awesome videos 👍🏻
My boarding school was absolute hell on earth. It was also up in the mountains. Not allowed to leave the grounds unless we were very sick. Parents can only visit once a semester and they can't give you anything, no food or presents. We studied all day and had a billion uniforms a billion different socks and shoes for each uniform. The food was weird. I was severely depressed. I wanted to die. Intentionally made myself ill so that I could go home, but they have a hospital on campus. They didn't let my parents know. Never allowed to call them.
I'm literally shook??? My boarding school had literally 150 students, eight of them in my grade and I was the only girl??? We also had a very strict uniform and weren't allowed to leave campus unless specified by our parents three days in advance, we had a breakfast hour and if you missed it you literally weren't going to eat until lunch, what kind of heaven do you go to?
You live in Muncie!! I am from Anderson and I am a freshman at Indiana Wesleyan and recognized the campus from playing your school in basketball! Crazy, I do not know many youtubers from my area!
Rachel D. Basically you can't leave the building except for class and to eat and I'm pretty sure you get grounded by like leave when your not supposed to or not being in you dorm by the time you have I'm assuming
In my case, you can get detention or you are forced to run around a mile track without music for 1-2 hours. But that is in the case of missing many classes and skipping some. In most cases your parents get notified.
although this is more relaxed than regular public school wouldnt you rather be home? for me my school starts at 7:30 and ends at 2:30 but then i get to go home & spend my time however i want. i feel like if i went to your school itd be like being at school 24/7
i loveee home so yeah, i guess those are perks of public school as well. even tho i love my friends and all, i also appreciate just alone time in my room and i'd miss my home, and my city, and of course my parents, and fam. but ya i'd hate to be at school 4/7 although i guess that might be what uni is like..i hope i get into one close to home though. my school starts at 8:05 and ends at 2:30. interesting
lily It isn't. In college you can choose (as an adult) where you want to go and what you want to do outside of campus. These kids have to remain on campus and don't get to make their own decisions. The only thing boarding school and university have in common is classes and dorms, but that tiny bit isn't even half of the college experience.
When you're grounded you can't leave the building to go out or anything (only to eat and go to class). It's like the punishments you get at home by your parents. I think.
This was sooooo much better than other people's "day in my life" videos. This was actually realistic and interesting. Other people show them putting on like 10 lbs of makeup on and then they eat a fancy healthy breakfast and they are all just really extra. This was just really real and it was interesting seeing what it was like going to boarding school!
At my boarding school in ireland we started at 8:00 went to class from 8-9 then breakfast then class1 9:30-10-30 class2 10:30-11:30 class3 11:30-12:30 lunch class4 1:15-2:15 class5 2:15-3:15 class6 3:15-4:15 -then school finishes- gym for 1 and a half hours till 5:45 then dinner 5:45-6:30 study hall 6:30-7:30 then club meetings (depends if you are in a club, i was in drama, media, dance and history so i spent an hour in clubs everyday😂 15 min in every club 😂 but i loved it though then after that you just hung out with friends then you had to be in your room after 10 then lights out for 11 i was in a dorm with 4 other people and they literally become family This was also my timetable for the week Monday - french- math- bio -Spanish- english- drama- Irish heritage Tuesday-media- drama- history- Spanish- chem- Irish heritage- religious studies😣 Wednesday- chem- bio - french - english- english- math- drama Thursday- math- math -french- spanish- chem - drama- media Friday- math- english- Spanish- bio- chem- french -media Saturday- we get up at 10:00 and classes starts at 11:30 and continue normally for the rest of the day - dance- cooking- art- guidance ( yes my Saturdays were very slack as all your recreational classes are then e.g. Ones you take once a week and also guidance is like pupil support) Sundays we then had free but we had to go to 2 classes which were on all day from 7am-7pm and u just had to drop into each class for like an hour my two classes on Sunday were statistics and politics i know terrible😫 My school also didn't have uniform on the weekend but did on the weekdays we also had many activities such as horse riding, hockey, tennis, water polo, swimming, badminton, football ,rugby, musical instrument lessons, tae kwon do, cookery, art, anything really😂 We also at the weekend don't have clubs or physical education at the weekends And thats basically my life from age 8-18 I'm 15 now
Alice smithh i love the way some British boarding schools have houses which really makes it feel like Hogwarts. Well....I guess its the next best thing?
I sorta want to go to boarding school now, but I had said the same thing about homeschooling, and now here I am bored out of my mind hoping to go back to normal school.
British boarding schools seem very different. Students are required to meet high expectations both inside and outside the classroom. They're given additional projects to run/organize themselves, which is so beneficial for character and leadership development. It also minimizes time spent on idle unproductive pursuits.
my brother went to boarding school in massachusetts and i loved it there in the winter 😂 , but anyway he changed schools and now he goes to a boarding school in Louisiana
As a person who has always attended outside schools (practically buildings where the classrooms are on the outside and there aren't any halls), I'm quite jealous to see this.
At my boarding school, we wake up at 8, go to class at 9 have lunch from 12-2pm and then we finish at 4:30. In the afternoon, I have field hockey until 6:30, then dinner at 7 in the dinning hall, study hall from 8:30-9:30, in rooms at 10:15 and lights out at 10:30
i go to boarding school in australia and we have to hand in our technology (phones and laptop) by a certain time (for middle school 8:45-9:30 pm) and for year 11 or seniors its 10pm. Like damn how do they let you stay up till midnight
Boarding school looks just like the summer academic camp I take. Basically for a month I go to a college campus in the summer and for the fun take extra curricular classes like photography and algebra (the algebra in this is fun haha) and it’s just a lot of fun! I would love to go to boarding school
I’ve been offered to go to a boarding school and I just finished the registration and now I need to wait for them to send an email with an application😓pray
My boarding school is s little different we have classes in the morning 8:30-1:15 with breaks in between then we have athletics and arts classes and homework and all that stuff
Everytime I see something like this i'm like "I need to move to this magical place where school ends early!!" because where I live we have classes from 8am to 6pm pretty much every day and seeing stuff like this kills me!!!!!
moviedude22 I'm not sure yet. As of right now it's Ball State University but I'm still waiting on decisions from USC, UCLA, and Loyola Marymount University
I dont know why but I have always wanted to have roommates or a roommate for school. It has been a dream of mine apart from when a friend stayed at my house for 2 days cause their parents had a baby. I have always wanted to experience the thrill
I noticed a volleyball on the shirt when you were cleaning your room. How long have you been playing and do you still get to play??? I currently am playing for my club team as an outside hitter and I love it
so boarding school is literally college except youre younger... interesting
J and more rules/supervision but you kinda have to do that legally since most are under 18
J in America it is lol I'm so surprised. In the uk it's super strict😂(and ur in a dorm with like 5 other people)
not necessarily, the boarding school that I went too was very very strict, 10pm lights out, very structured days, classes from 7am to 5pm and so on. just depends on the school
Kayla Anderson and u became an attention seeking social media...
I hated it lol
This is basically college with punishments and rules.
This is so interesting
Bethany Leigh sarcasm?
Akay Mo no
What are the chances of seeing u here😂😂
Forever loving Beth's videos of you haven't watched her you should
Bethany Leigh OMG HEYYY ILY
this basically just college
Wow boarding school is basically college, but just more regimented! Because you're minors. That's pretty cool.
sage claycomb her boarding school seems very different from the ones I've attended - I think American schools are much more like college than UK/European boarding schools where you have old fashioned uniforms, Latin & Greek, and weird traditions. Her school seems so nice and chill compared to mine
sage claycomb she is not wearing uniforms

Rachel Newman most boarding schools wear uniforms
Ruba Al Fataisi actually only about 38% of boarding schools in the US and Canada have uniforms
Looks like the owl doesn't bring you mail...
MCT 😂😂😂😂
MCT 😂😂😂😂
MCT 😂😂😂😂
please check out my channel I make funny sketches on there
MCT 😂
This is a lot different than British boarding school
Alicia Smith so true 😂
Alicia Smith true
Alicia Smith Yeah so true!
Alicia Smith What's the main difference do you think?
In the Uk Most of the Boarding schools are really strict and kinda traditional with uniform and stuff. Yo
this is the most relaxed boarding school ever! I'd love to go here!! I'm currently in my third year of boarding school in Canada
ImJoshChaos well hers is a residential school so it is boarding school but then its not 😂...like they take a test to get in they dont even pay tuition
+Sierra Fields a boarding school is a school where you live. We are funded by the state so no we don't pay tuition but we do pay room and board which is included in private boarding school tuition
Taylor Chay that sounds so nice...yalls school seems so much fun..way more fun then my school 😬😂
Taylor Chay when i watched this video you legit only had like 300 subs...i take a break and come back and you are up to 18,000 ..so proud of you 😝
ImJoshChaos How is it like? I'm Canadian and very curious lmao.
Lara S exactly!!! They're some of the hardest schools
Lara S Actually did you know that there are different types of boarding schools? Depending on the school, teachers don't have to have teaching degrees or anything

Jay Nu not me I thought boarding school was for bad asses like Serena Vanderwoodness
me
You mean van der woodsen? 😂😂
Margo 😂yes
Margo the gossip girl references 🙏🏻
If you're sick do you just not go to class? And how do you visit a doctor when your sick if you live there like who takes you? Just wondering
Channy I'm not sure but there is probably a doctor onsite
Zoe Hazan oh ok thanks
My friend says he just ditches his class and stays in his dorm
Channy usually they have an in house doctor. Who is basically a nurse but MUCH better!!
If I was sick for a Day I had to tell a teacher and then I could go back to the dorm for the Day. If someone was really sick they had to go home for the rest of the week (Our school was closed on the weekends anyways so it was normal to go home every week). would you suggest boarding school? I want to go there but I don't know.
+Lauren Shelton yes I would definitely recommend it! I'd recommend visiting and really studying up on what the school is like before you enroll but I love it!
Taylor Chay ok thank you!!
This is not a typicall boarding school lol.
Lauren Shelton depends. What is your reason for going? I went to a add/ ADHD one and it helped a lot.
Camille Mae so you couldn't go to a normal school? Do all people take medication there? I have ADHD and I have quite some problems with it but with medication I'm fine most of the time
you have the zoey 101 experience!..LUCKY!
AHHH😭before troyce was big
this is really interesting, thank you! Never knew what an American boarding school was like! Though, if I was still at school and had to go to a boarding school, it'd be my idea of absolute hell. I'm working on a few right now!!
You live in Muncie!! I am from Anderson and I am a freshman at Indiana Wesleyan and recognized the campus from playing your school in basketball! Crazy, I do not know many youtubers from my area!
Can you explain the grounded thing? Like what do you get ground for and what are your punishments?
Rachel D. Basically you can't leave the building except for class and to eat and I'm pretty sure you get grounded by like leave when your not supposed to or not being in you dorm by the time you have I'm assuming

velvetymeagan you literally just said you don’t have the experience yet and are afraid to go do how do you know?
I was a house parent for a boarding school. It was an all boys middle school. I loved working there
I'M OBSESSED WITH DEGRASSI TOO!! I LOVE THE NEXT GENERATION SOOOO MUCH

Great video! So glad I found your channel :) the stink bugs scared me 😂
Degrassi is so good! I binged watched the whole two seasons in about 4 days and boarding schools seems interesting!
You get grounded?
When you're grounded you can't leave the building to go out or anything (only to eat and go to class). It's like the punishments you get at home by your parents. I think.
not checking in
My sister went to a boarding school in Indiana for high school. It was also on a college campus. Sounds fun

Nah this isn't real boarding, American boarding school is like university not British boarding school which is actually like Hogwarts
Alice smithh is it really?
Leslie A yeah but like a bit less glamorous and without the magic 😂it's super strict in the uk. I watched this like whaaaat
Alice smithh my boarding school was nothing like this and it's in America
Alice smithh i love the way some British boarding schools have houses which really makes it feel like Hogwarts. Well....I guess its the next best thing?
The Girl haha closest we'll ever get 😂
00:09 THE RAVEN BOYS?! THAT IS MY FAVORITE BOOK . I'm from Mexico, I love your video btw
I sorta want to go to boarding school now, but I had said the same thing about homeschooling, and now here I am bored out of my mind hoping to go back to normal school.

I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers. This is awesome!!!👍

Megabonus2.0 aw thank you!!
Taylor Chay 🙂
my brother went to boarding school in massachusetts and i loved it there in the winter 😂 , but anyway he changed schools and now he goes to a boarding school in Louisiana
When i was at boarding school in the UK we have to wear a uniforms and we get room inspection every day.. This is so chill.
Harry Potter isnt a media portrayal. if youve been to a boarding school in england you'll know that if you take away the magic its pretty accurate

Wow yours is so different than ours!We have a very strict routine🙄
IM OBSESSED WITH DEGRASSI TOO

There's a boarding school like 20 minutes from me and kids from out of the country go there and I've always wanted to go to one. Are they fun?
I just found this chanel on my recommendations and I imeatilenty fell in love with it
I SCREAMED WHEN DEGRASSI CAME ON! but toooottally agree that it's very different now
As a person who has always attended outside schools (practically buildings where the classrooms are on the outside and there aren't any halls), I'm quite jealous to see this.
Boarding schools in the UK consists of staying there 24/7 and occasionally going home for holidays, and wearing uniform
The campus looked like The Academy at Ball State University. I have a few pals that go there and I've seen it a few times.
one of my best friends started boarding school a couple days ago and i wanna understand her life so here i am
Just found your channel and i am in loveee!!!
YOU WATCHING DEGRASSI MADE ME HAPPY
wow you have to at least be in your rooms by midnight? that's amazing, i thought they'd do lights out by 10 or something, being a school and all
Boarding school looks just like the summer academic camp I take. Basically for a month I go to a college campus in the summer and for the fun take extra curricular classes like photography and algebra (the algebra in this is fun haha) and it’s just a lot of fun! I would love to go to boarding school
you and your room and this video is so cute!
Why are you going to bed at almost 1am on a school night?

Your school is so pretty! And so is your wall decor! 💕
My mom wants me to go to boarding school but I'm so scared to be away for that long plus I don't think I would make any friends.
I’ve been offered to go to a boarding school and I just finished the registration and now I need to wait for them to send an email with an application😓pray
My boarding school is s little different we have classes in the morning 8:30-1:15 with breaks in between then we have athletics and arts classes and homework and all that stuff
This is so cool it came up on my suggested videos and it's my college campus! :)
I almost seriously considered going to a boarding school but I wimped out. I can't now xp but they've always interested me
They have a room check of midnight 😌 i wish
What grade are you in? Are you planning to go to the college next store?
I'm a senior, and I don't know where I'm going to college yet for sure.
Taylor Chay why do you go to boarding school
My cousin flexi boards which seems like a good option
ive been obsessed with degrassi since I was like 12 and eventhough its different i still love it.
Everytime I see something like this i'm like "I need to move to this magical place where school ends early!!" because where I live we have classes from 8am to 6pm pretty much every day and seeing stuff like this kills me!!!!!
My boarding school was a lotttt different
I am watching a bunch of boarding school vlogs cos I start a boarding school after Christmas
My school is way too big literally have to walk 15 minutes to get to the main part as there is like 10 boarding houses girls and boys

Nico McCurrach why would you ask that it's not like she'd tell you 😂😂
If your 13 and in boarding skwl are you allowed to have cell phones like to use at free times
Love that tie dye t.shirt where can I get one like that I live in the uk ?
I went to Indiana academy as well! So random that I found this video
What does it mean when your grounded and what do you do
Goodmorning too
Is this at Ball State? I got partway through and I was like ...wait this campus looks very familiar
Omg this boarding school is so free. I have 3hrs study a night where phones get taken off us, and have lights out at 10:15... I wish it was like this.
What's a face check
I think you go to the school i applied to go to next year
her boarding school is unique in mine we were in dorms then we later had roommates
Where do you plan to attend college?
moviedude22 I'm not sure yet. As of right now it's Ball State University but I'm still waiting on decisions from USC, UCLA, and Loyola Marymount University
Wow! How exciting for you. All the best and hopefully you plan to keep vlogging :)
Taylor Chay omg I'm applying to Loyola Marymount too!!!
I dont know why but I have always wanted to have roommates or a roommate for school. It has been a dream of mine apart from when a friend stayed at my house for 2 days cause their parents had a baby. I have always wanted to experience the thrill
Is your school at Swany cause some of the buildings look like it
I've always wanted to go to boarding school
what's the difference between boarding school and public/charter/private school?
so different to my secondary school experience, you are very privileged!
I noticed a volleyball on the shirt when you were cleaning your room. How long have you been playing and do you still get to play??? I currently am playing for my club team as an outside hitter and I love it
