i can’t believe i’m saying this but i’m actually excited for the story of the next dlc more than the actual games and new features. I’m excited to see how kieran changes and how much stronger he gets by indigo disk.
Same. I was really impressed, and even felt kind of proud when he was able to KO 1 of my pokemon by the end of the dlc (At the start I just ran around catching everything, and got a Chandelure to lvl 80 or so that solo'd them for the most part)
The DLC was quite the ride for me. I was originally against Carmine because of how aggressive she was, but spending time with her got me to soften up a bit. She is certainly flawed, but it’s clear that she cares about her brother. She is willing to change and has some growing moments when helping Ogerpon get her masks back. She even calmly tells Kieran to consider Ogerpon’s feelings when she expresses a desire to be with the player. I think she may be aware of her actions hurting her brother, but Kieran is too hurt to want to listen to her, which is understandable. I felt bad for him and wanted to be his friend. However, he started getting more determined to beat me. It felt different than with Nemona who saw Pokémon battles as a fun pastime with friends. Kieran sees battles as a demonstration of strength. For me, I feel a sense of discomfort when he started demanding more battles. There was no enjoyment in those battles and he made it clear that he wanted to beat me. He does get better at battling and starts using items, but he still doesn’t understand how he keeps losing. Perhaps with the Indigo Disc DLC, we’ll learn more about Kieran and he may drop this obsessive desire to beat the player.
I'm gonna say it, while obviously not perfect, Scarlet and Violet have quickly become my favorite entries on the series. Seriously, the story and characters alone carry hard, but add in a fun exploration with your ride legendary, lots of cool new Pokémon to discover, banger music, a unique spin on the franchise by having three overarching plots that connect in the end, and much more! Yes, the performance is bad, but that's like the only gripe I have with the game. Yes, it can be easy at times, but Pokémon has been doing this lately and honestly no one stops you from just self imposing whatever restrictions you see fit (even so the DLC crancked up the difficulty a notch, really cool) I'm honestly so excited for the Indigo Disk! I want to see how they wrap up this wonderful game (even if it is at 15 fps lol)
I honestly gotta agree. Plus this game did what I don't think any of the others did (besides maybe Arceus), they made the legendaries feel like characters. Most legendary pokemon in other games felt like end goals or prizes with no real personality outside of camping hangouts in Sword and Shield. But in Scarlet and Violet, Koraidon, Miraidon, Ogerpon, even the loyal 3 all have some amount of personality that makes them feel like living creatures.
I'm just pointing this out because i see a lot people mad at carmine for lying to her brother. Completely missing why she did it. Kiren is obsessed with ogrepon if you had told him he would have went chasing after it remember at that time everyone is under the assumption ogrepon is dangerous. And while it is a sweet as crap it did infact kill three legendary Pokemon on its own and it doesn't trust people. Kiren would have ran after it and very possibly pushed it to attack him. The part i disagree with is actually the Grandpa since he makes you keep lying to kiren when i think they should have told him then but carmine initial lie made sense and even she feels bad for doing it in the first place.
Im hoping that when Indigo disk comes out and we fight Kieran, it is a fair and difficult fight. What I mean by that, I want him to have a full team of Lvl. 100 pokemon and actually puts a strong fight. That way we can have a true challenge when we face him again :O Or before the final battle the game detects the levels of your team and changes Kieran’s team accordingly to make it fair yet difficult.
The writing of this DLC was good but not as good as the Scarlet/Violet base game. Carmine was probably the best character in this dlc where she changes a lot through the entire storyline to be a better character at the end. Kieran turn from shy character that wanted a friend turned into a power hungry villain that wants more power (Palpatine quote from Star Wars Episode 3 "Power! Unlimited Power!" describes him the best) at the end of the story. Perrin was a nice throwback to Pokemon Legends Arceus game which is the best game from this series in my opinion. In case of Briar she had too much cliffhangers that are going to get explained in the final DLC The Indigo Disc.
I like how Carmine and her family have these catlike eyes. It's like the game is trying to tell us that they see things differently with character design alone. And it's true, they see things differently because their ancestor was a mask maker who was the only villager who took pity upon Ogerpon and her original trainer, giving them masks so they can blend in and attend the festivals, and kept the truth about Ogerpon and the Loyal Three a secret from the other villagers.
If anything they are reptilian, she also has snake motives in her hair: her crossed bangs (and Kieran's) resemble a snake's split tongue, and so do the tips of her hair.
I couldn’t agree with you more. I definitely do think that The characters introduced we’re actually really good, especially Kieran. This is one of the reasons why Teal Mask is better than Swsh’s dlc. Because unlike Swsh’s Expansion Pass, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is by far leagues better. (No doubt that The Indigo Disk Will be better than Teal Mask because of what I’ve seen from the Datamines) Now imma watch the next video.
With any luck there will be another one after Indigo Disk. Im hoping for a fourth map. Bc they could stretch out Kierans whole power obsession for a bit. Forming his own group. Tutoring under a Villain similar to Giovanni whos looking for an heir to his empire. Trust me ive seen this kind of stuff happen in anime. Kid goes off the rails in search of power bc of self doubt. Ends up becoming corrupted in some way and then a huge battle ensues between former friends turned enemies. Its plot of fucking Naruto...

I think he wants purely to prevent himself from being hurt again. To be able to fight for what he wants. I think that was his intention, but he'll soon loose sight of his original goal as he obsesses over the process and forgetting the reason he wanted power in the first place.
in comparison to sword and shield being beforehand, it's like they took reviewed notes from their more liked arcs and found their new role. love the mature themes to this one. I also theorize briar is trying to recreate the time machine, considering giraffe raikou. I love to know what you will decide on how to go about this.
I feel like Pokemon should release a PSA and an event where you can level up your Pokemon before Part 2. There's nothing in this world that I want more than to finally fight trainers with a full team of 6 level 100 Pokemon. Make it so that once you arrive to Unova, Carmine is assigned to test your power, and BAM, 6 level 100 Pokemon straight off the bat. If you lose, you can't continue until you beat her and pass the test.
They are interesting characters, but imo the story was still really boring to me. It felt really empty. I think gen 5 still out does SV a bit. I think the dlc lacked the environmental storytelling. When I think of pokemon's best moments I think of spear pillar and the distortion world, n's castle, the plasma ship, the endgame of legends arceus, and now the end of scarlet and violet with area zero(although arven's story is pretty great). I don't think the dlc quite got there because the environment never matched the characters. Pokemon really only becomes memorable when the same care is put into the environments you explore and the world building is full. Although I do have a lot of hope for dlc part 2.
Hey you don't disrespect Archie like that. Archie loves Pokémon. He loves Nature, and humans are destroying it. They're hurting the ecosystem, and Archie's goal is to put a stop to that, by expanding the seas for Pokémon, and stop the humans' dangerous expansion. His goal was not to flood the entire world, just to extend the seas. That's why he's so distraught when Kyogre is actually going to flood the world. That was not his plan. In the end, Archie is a good guy at heart, but who went too far, because even if his plan worked, a lot of humans and Pokémon would have died, but the lack of land would have also made the problem of overpopulation ever worse, even with the people he killed. Maxie on the other hand, he wants to expand the land for humans. This would hurt the ecosystem, but it would help humans develop even more, and it would help fixing overpopulation. Neither of them are doing right things, they must be stopped, but you can understand where they're coming from. It's not because you don't understand their depth that you have to talk down on them like that.
I guess I don’t play pokemon as much anymore but I could not take Kieran seriously when he tried to be a villain💀💀💀 the first thing I thought of was the “Bro thinks he’s him” meme. I was clowning him left and right but jokes aside I enjoyed carmine way more and would’ve rather travelled with her.
i wish he got ogerpawn to but i had some lore about it to create here it is. what if there was another ogerpawn orignaly the man from another rejion came with 1 ogerpawn the original fusion of the 2 but when the loal 3 defeated it its mask shatered into 2 spliting it into yin ogrepawn and yang ogrepawn yang the female is the 1 we have but the yin 1 is a male with a more brutish aperince and more hostile tords others. as yin is being bullyed by the loal 3 yin goes to save yang and atacks the loal 3 it puts up a good fight but it fails in the end and is chaced away kieran while bonds with this ogerpawn and becomes his partner wanting to become stronger but the side effect is that they both enfluence each other so they both want to become stronger then after the main story he gets revenge on the loal 3 after u beat them and gets his masks back and leavs for the indigo disk. What do u think and was it good.
I'm really interested in Kieran's negative character arc. But I feel really sad for him. He's right, while Carmine is an awful person. Everything is her fault, since she's the one who wanted to lie to him because she's a selfish jerk in the first place. But not once does she apologize for what she's done, nor get any karma for all of her bad actions. I don't like her at all. And I think this is where the issues of our character being a flat Mary Sue that just does what he's told start to show. All of this could have been averted if we didn't listen to Carmine and told the truth about seeing Ogerpon to Kieran. I would have done so. But our character can't choose and goes along with Carmine's lie. But then, this character that is supposed to be me does something I would never do, and the immersion is completely broken. And to see everything go to sh*t for a decision I was forced to take by the game kinda sucks. Especially since I really like Kieran. I think the next step for Pokémon storytelling is to let the character make real choices. For example in the Teal Mask, you could choose to lie to Kieran like Carmine wants you to, or you disregard what that jerk wants and tell the truth to Kieran. This would create a branched path. If you lie like Carmine asked you to, the story is what we got, but if you don't and tell Kieran the truth, he's your ally instead. He has a satisfying ending, while Carmine gets what she deserves and becomes the antagonist. And that way, if you chose to lie to Kieran, what happens is partially your fault and you face the consequences. You don't face these consequences because of a choice you were forced to make but that you wouldn't actually make. You made that choice in this version I propose. It could be a good moral too. You tell the truth and the ending is happy, you lie and the ending is bad. Don't lie to people around you, you may hurt them. Also I mentioned our character being a Mary Sue, and yeah I really don't like that. Like when Ogerpon refuses the mask from Kieran and wants us specifically to give it her. Huge Mary Sue moment, I hated that. Game Freak just let Kieran give her the damn mask. We don't need to be at the center of everything all of the time. That also breaks the immersion. Also the fact that Ogerpon wants to come with us, because of course she does we're the protagonist -_- They did Kieran dirty again with this. Ogerpon should have went with him. And then I dunno they pull a second Ogerpon out of nowhere for us to catch, or they unlock an Ogerpon Tera Raid once you've completed the Teal Mask's story, which allows you to get one for yourself without breaking the canon story since Event Tera Raids often already hold crazy stuff that don't fit in the canon. So basically I loved this, but my issues are that our character is a huge Mary Sue, that Carmine, who's to blame for all this, gets away with all she's done without apologizing once even though everything is her fault, while poor Kieran was done really dirty by the story without a chance of giving him a happier ending (and I really like him so I'd want him to be happy). That's really unfair. We should have had a chance to create an ending that's more fair. I hope Game Freak finally decides to give us choices in future games. Because not only what I mentioned earlier, but forcing us to befriend Nemona also was something that broke the immersion for me. She's nice, but she's an extrovert who pushes her interest on people even if they're not interested. As an introvert, I would not become friends with her, but the game forces you to do so anyway. Immersion broken. The character is not actually me. I really hope they'll give us actual choices in later games. But for that, they would need to hire more people, and they would also need Nintendo and the Pokémon Company to give them more time. Sorry this rant was pretty long, feel free to tell me what you think of the points I made. Oh yeah also, I would have liked it better if Nemona, Arven and Penny came with us to this trip. They would have taken a backseat in this story, but it would still be better than the three randoms that don't even have names that came with us.
My guy your really of the mark about carmine. What I can remember so far about her is that she isn’t a good person let alone an older sister to her younger brother kieran. It really makes me so damn sick and completely furious that we have to be friends and allied with a jerk and lowlife person that being carmine and not her brother throughout the teal mask and not with Kieran. I believe that we should be teaming up with kieran and do fun stuff with him. The day in the festival is where we should be first seeing ogerpon with Kieran not carmine. And do the rest of the teal mask story with him too. Keeping the first sight of ogerpon from kieran is 100% not a good idea because kieran look up to ogerpon and see himself within the said pokémon and later on it will cause him to despise us. Being with carmine freaking sucks she act like she is the superior, egotistical, selfish, rudely aggressive with her younger brother, etc. She is such an oblivious, foolish, and ignorant as well while us players are fighting with the lousy royal three she brings kieran along and she shamelessly said that she dragged him by the collar to here we are at like seriously?! And she said that she glad that he did that like this women has no shame at all on how much of a awful person she is to her brother. Sorry if this is completely long.😓
And after we beat him to capture ogerpon (to us is completely unfair even for Kieran) he ran home full of frustration and depression while her selfish sister throws a hissy fit of her brother for not accepting a lost. Again, she’s sucks so much like your brother wanted that Pokémon ogerpon his partner. And we don’t get to choose other options on telling him the truth that we and her sister saw ogerpon no thanks to her so called “overprotective jerk sister” and game freak for not allowing us to at least tell him the truth. But no, we are the main protagonist of the entire Pokémon game and Pokémon game before gen 9. Kieran is such a sweet, timid, and curious person I really like him and still do way more than carmine. I know this in the indigo disk he will not hesitate to get back at us and he has a full right to despise not only us but his sister deserves the most hate that she herself cost. Let’s hope that thing will be better him and we will give us the option to say sorry to him for lying about ogerpon😢 Lastly, the story of the teal mask will be much better if us and Kieran do both the school field trip activities and seeing and befriended ogerpon together instead with the rotten red onion that we know. That’s all😓
We all know that at the end of the first dlc game, Kieran was consumed by resentment and vows to become stronger. He even quotes, "Just you wait" to the player. How about in the second dlc game, he did get a little bit stronger; however still believed that he wasn't strong enough. All the sudden, he encounters the mysterious legendary Pokémon (Dokutaro). Keiran expresses his desire of becoming the stronger and Dokutaro promises to help him achieve his goal. The mysterious Pokémon then granted Kieran powers (just as it did to the "Loyal Three"). As the story goes on Kieran's side, it is seen that he did become stronger; however, he also becomes corrupted (slowly descending into madness). He and Dokutaro could the epic final boss that the player had to face.
if on the graphics level Pokemon Violet does not break bricks or barely pass, on the other hand in terms of scenario or on the lore of the characters there on the other hand it is excellent or even nearly perfect: the plot-twist on Turo/Sada, the sad origins of the bosses of the star team and the downfall of Kieran are some of the points that made me totally love the game and make it almost as good as games like Black 2/white 2 or the very first games. I easily give it 17/20 because Pokemon Violet tries to outdo itself where other games excel. And even if for nostalgic and whiny fanboys this game is ugly for me it has the level of a top game despite his flaws. here the characters are no longer simple NPCs that you have to beat the crap out of them but now you can get attached to them because the players can recognize themselves in them (Larry for example or Drayton)
also the ogerpawn is biger and is a rival to koridon so this can set up kireran and his ogerpawn and his rivarly with u and koridon/miridon i have scarlet so sorry abot that

To me, kieran is not suppose to be the victim and the villain from all of the trauma from both the teal mask and the indigo disk. The dismissive of our characters is so awful all they can do is to just make those dumb expressions whenever her low life jerk of a sister carmine wants to be a selfish person as a way to keep her brother safe from “danger”. I am not a fan of his sister I hate her and she should be the one who gets punished much worse instead of her brother. Carmine is so annoying, selfish, egotistical, naive, short-tempered, somewhat hypocritical, etc. She also knows that her brother is a huge fan of ogerpon and when us and her saw it at night we were going to explain to him but she stupidly stops us from spilling the beans to him about it like are you for real he deserves the truth and I know for a fact that this will go south from then on for us and Kieran all because of a “overprotective selfish of a sister” carmine. In the indigo disk was to me some what more worse. Kieran still despise us and it so nauseating to see carmine again like I really do not care about her and all I was very concern about is Kieran. I do not mind of kieran for giving us a cold shoulder her sister is still being dumb for the fact that she’s the reason why her brother hates her for keeping the secret of ogerpon from him. And the word “shut up/shut it” is what she honestly deserves from him. Drayton the grandson of drayden from unova is somewhat alright but he’s somewhat annoyingly ignorant to Kieran after we beat him the the champion battle like dude he’s suffer enough, shut up already man! I can go on talking about Kieran but for those that have already watch or played the teal mask and the indigo disk already know the whole story. And the indigo disk is somewhat fine. There are two Pokémon battle music of Kieran from a UA-camr named Juno Songs who make lyrics about kieran and his feeling and it’s very touching and helps us understand more about the pain and sorrow that Kieran has to endure. He deserves to be happy with ogerpon😢 I’m not sure if the same UA-camr will make more about him in the indigo but the lyrics sounds super great and Kieran is awesome character to have as a rival along with nemona.
What drives me nuts is a few youtubers I follow hated the Teal Mask especially Joshsorcher them thinking we bullied Keiran and then broke him and that Carmine is an abusive jackass no if you pay attention Carmine while a bit abrasive does have reasons for her actions and Keiran is shown multiple times to have an unhealthy fanboy obsession with Ogerpon we didn't tell him the truth because we didn't want him runing up the mountain on his own or getting in trouble with the townsfolk. This entire DLC is basicly an orgin story for a Blue/Sliver type rival but he had to be our flawed friend first for that fall into darkness to hit as hard as it does

At first I wanted to he friends with him cuz he was so shy but now he's just a whiney punk that thinks he's better than me even though I continue to beat his team into the ground. I'm sure his character will cool off in the next dlc tho. And uh... carmine I thought was a jerk at first but then she just.. stopped being one? Idk. I have mixed opinions on how they dealt with her character.
Though the only reason you "beat him to the ground" is because the protagonist is an overpowered Mary Sue. And he doesn't think he's better than you, he knows he isn't but he still tries and that's admirable. Also it's not you defeating him, it's your character, which is not the same thing. It's not you that's "beating him to the ground", and he doesn't think he's better than "you", it's your character not you, so chill. Don't take things so personally. If this was really you in this world, I'm sure he would destroy you in one of his last battles, maybe even earlier. Real people are rarely prodigies. In the Pokémon world, you wouldn't be one. I wouldn't be one either. You wouldn't defeat someone with Kieran's level at the end. I wouldn't either. So get off your high horse, you're not special. Also Carmine is absolutely still a jerk even when she becomes you ally. She's still being extremely toxic towards Kieran for example.

As I said it's not that deep. I wasn't on a high horse. You just took my comment WAY too seriously. Also yeah ik carmine is still a jerk at the end but it's better than her making verbal threats to her brother and her becoming obsessed with you as a rival like nemona. By the end she worries about her brother and while yes still belittles you as you beat the loyal 3 she makes up for it by actually being nice to you. Fr why did you take my comment so seriously? I'm not saying my character is a self insert. I'm just saying that from the character you're playing as point of view.. Kieran is really just a pushover... The main story alone is a mess, both antagonistic teams are really bad, and you have characters like Magnolia or Marnie that just disappear and aren't really explored (don't get me started on the sword and shield bros 💀). I enjoyed it for what it was, but I feel like gen 7 or 9 managed their characters, stories, antagonists, etc much better

Seeing the obsession of Briar (the teacher) with terastalisation,I think she will play a huge rule in next dlc which is all about terastalisation.

Carmine was probably the best character in this dlc where she changes a lot through the entire storyline to be a better character at the end. Kieran turn from shy character that wanted a friend turned into a power hungry villain that wants more power (Palpatine quote from Star Wars Episode 3 "Power! Unlimited Power!" describes him the best) at the end of the story. Perrin was a nice throwback to Pokemon Legends Arceus game which is the best game from this series in my opinion.
In case of Briar she had too much cliffhangers that are going to get explained in the final DLC The Indigo Disc.

I like how Carmine and her family have these catlike eyes. It's like the game is trying to tell us that they see things differently with character design alone. And it's true, they see things differently because their ancestor was a mask maker who was the only villager who took pity upon Ogerpon and her original trainer, giving them masks so they can blend in and attend the festivals, and kept the truth about Ogerpon and the Loyal Three a secret from the other villagers.

This is one of the reasons why Teal Mask is better than Swsh’s dlc.
Because unlike Swsh’s Expansion Pass, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is by far leagues better. (No doubt that The Indigo Disk Will be better than Teal Mask because of what I’ve seen from the Datamines)

Trust me ive seen this kind of stuff happen in anime. Kid goes off the rails in search of power bc of self doubt. Ends up becoming corrupted in some way and then a huge battle ensues between former friends turned enemies.

I don't thing Kieran is seeking power just for powers sake. I think he wants purely to prevent himself from being hurt again. To be able to fight for what he wants. I think that was his intention, but he'll soon loose sight of his original goal as he obsesses over the process and forgetting the reason he wanted power in the first place.
in comparison to sword and shield being beforehand, it's like they took reviewed notes from their more liked arcs and found their new role. love the mature themes to this one. I also theorize briar is trying to recreate the time machine, considering giraffe raikou. I love to know what you will decide on how to go about this.
I feel like Pokemon should release a PSA and an event where you can level up your Pokemon before Part 2. There's nothing in this world that I want more than to finally fight trainers with a full team of 6 level 100 Pokemon.
Make it so that once you arrive to Unova, Carmine is assigned to test your power, and BAM, 6 level 100 Pokemon straight off the bat. If you lose, you can't continue until you beat her and pass the test.

Since the game doesn't have voice acting, your pronounciated of Carmine and Keiran is as valid as any other pronunciations.
They are interesting characters, but imo the story was still really boring to me. It felt really empty. I think gen 5 still out does SV a bit. I think the dlc lacked the environmental storytelling. When I think of pokemon's best moments I think of spear pillar and the distortion world, n's castle, the plasma ship, the endgame of legends arceus, and now the end of scarlet and violet with area zero(although arven's story is pretty great). I don't think the dlc quite got there because the environment never matched the characters. Pokemon really only becomes memorable when the same care is put into the environments you explore and the world building is full. Although I do have a lot of hope for dlc part 2.

Hey you don't disrespect Archie like that. Archie loves Pokémon. He loves Nature, and humans are destroying it.
They're hurting the ecosystem, and Archie's goal is to put a stop to that, by expanding the seas for Pokémon, and stop the humans' dangerous expansion.
His goal was not to flood the entire world, just to extend the seas. That's why he's so distraught when Kyogre is actually going to flood the world. That was not his plan.
In the end, Archie is a good guy at heart, but who went too far, because even if his plan worked, a lot of humans and Pokémon would have died, but the lack of land would have also made the problem of overpopulation ever worse, even with the people he killed.
Maxie on the other hand, he wants to expand the land for humans. This would hurt the ecosystem, but it would help humans develop even more, and it would help fixing overpopulation.
Neither of them are doing right things, they must be stopped, but you can understand where they're coming from. It's not because you don't understand their depth that you have to talk down on them like that.

I guess I don’t play pokemon as much anymore but I could not take Kieran seriously when he tried to be a villain💀💀💀 the first thing I thought of was the “Bro thinks he’s him” meme. I was clowning him left and right but jokes aside I enjoyed carmine way more and would’ve rather travelled with her.

i wish he got ogerpawn to but i had some lore about it to create here it is. what if there was another ogerpawn orignaly the man from another rejion came with 1 ogerpawn the original fusion of the 2 but when the loal 3 defeated it its mask shatered into 2 spliting it into yin ogrepawn and yang ogrepawn yang the female is the 1 we have but the yin 1 is a male with a more brutish aperince and more hostile tords others. as yin is being bullyed by the loal 3 yin goes to save yang and atacks the loal 3 it puts up a good fight but it fails in the end and is chaced away kieran while bonds with this ogerpawn and becomes his partner wanting to become stronger but the side effect is that they both enfluence each other so they both want to become stronger then after the main story he gets revenge on the loal 3 after u beat them and gets his masks back and leavs for the indigo disk. What do u think and was it good.
I'm really interested in Kieran's negative character arc.
But I feel really sad for him. He's right, while Carmine is an awful person. Everything is her fault, since she's the one who wanted to lie to him because she's a selfish jerk in the first place.
But not once does she apologize for what she's done, nor get any karma for all of her bad actions. I don't like her at all.
And I think this is where the issues of our character being a flat Mary Sue that just does what he's told start to show.
All of this could have been averted if we didn't listen to Carmine and told the truth about seeing Ogerpon to Kieran. I would have done so.
But our character can't choose and goes along with Carmine's lie. But then, this character that is supposed to be me does something I would never do, and the immersion is completely broken.
And to see everything go to sh*t for a decision I was forced to take by the game kinda sucks. Especially since I really like Kieran.
I think the next step for Pokémon storytelling is to let the character make real choices.
For example in the Teal Mask, you could choose to lie to Kieran like Carmine wants you to, or you disregard what that jerk wants and tell the truth to Kieran.
This would create a branched path. If you lie like Carmine asked you to, the story is what we got, but if you don't and tell Kieran the truth, he's your ally instead.
He has a satisfying ending, while Carmine gets what she deserves and becomes the antagonist. And that way, if you chose to lie to Kieran, what happens is partially your fault and you face the consequences.
You don't face these consequences because of a choice you were forced to make but that you wouldn't actually make. You made that choice in this version I propose.
It could be a good moral too. You tell the truth and the ending is happy, you lie and the ending is bad. Don't lie to people around you, you may hurt them.
Also I mentioned our character being a Mary Sue, and yeah I really don't like that. Like when Ogerpon refuses the mask from Kieran and wants us specifically to give it her.
Huge Mary Sue moment, I hated that. Game Freak just let Kieran give her the damn mask. We don't need to be at the center of everything all of the time. That also breaks the immersion.
Also the fact that Ogerpon wants to come with us, because of course she does we're the protagonist -_- They did Kieran dirty again with this. Ogerpon should have went with him.
And then I dunno they pull a second Ogerpon out of nowhere for us to catch, or they unlock an Ogerpon Tera Raid once you've completed the Teal Mask's story, which allows you to get one for yourself without breaking the canon story since Event Tera Raids often already hold crazy stuff that don't fit in the canon.
So basically I loved this, but my issues are that our character is a huge Mary Sue, that Carmine, who's to blame for all this, gets away with all she's done without apologizing once even though everything is her fault, while poor Kieran was done really dirty by the story without a chance of giving him a happier ending (and I really like him so I'd want him to be happy).
That's really unfair. We should have had a chance to create an ending that's more fair. I hope Game Freak finally decides to give us choices in future games.
Because not only what I mentioned earlier, but forcing us to befriend Nemona also was something that broke the immersion for me.
She's nice, but she's an extrovert who pushes her interest on people even if they're not interested. As an introvert, I would not become friends with her, but the game forces you to do so anyway. Immersion broken. The character is not actually me.
I really hope they'll give us actual choices in later games. But for that, they would need to hire more people, and they would also need Nintendo and the Pokémon Company to give them more time.
Sorry this rant was pretty long, feel free to tell me what you think of the points I made.
Oh yeah also, I would have liked it better if Nemona, Arven and Penny came with us to this trip. They would have taken a backseat in this story, but it would still be better than the three randoms that don't even have names that came with us.
My guy your really of the mark about carmine. What I can remember so far about her is that she isn’t a good person let alone an older sister to her younger brother kieran.
It really makes me so damn sick and completely furious that we have to be friends and allied with a jerk and lowlife person that being carmine and not her brother throughout the teal mask and not with Kieran.
I believe that we should be teaming up with kieran and do fun stuff with him. The day in the festival is where we should be first seeing ogerpon with Kieran not carmine. And do the rest of the teal mask story with him too.
Keeping the first sight of ogerpon from kieran is 100% not a good idea because kieran look up to ogerpon and see himself within the said pokémon and later on it will cause him to despise us.
Being with carmine freaking sucks she act like she is the superior, egotistical, selfish, rudely aggressive with her younger brother, etc.
She is such an oblivious, foolish, and ignorant as well while us players are fighting with the lousy royal three she brings kieran along and she shamelessly said that she dragged him by the collar to here we are at like seriously?!

And after we beat him to capture ogerpon (to us is completely unfair even for Kieran) he ran home full of frustration and depression while her selfish sister throws a hissy fit of her brother for not accepting a lost. Again, she’s sucks so much like your brother wanted that Pokémon ogerpon his partner.
And we don’t get to choose other options on telling him the truth that we and her sister saw ogerpon no thanks to her so called “overprotective jerk sister” and game freak for not allowing us to at least tell him the truth.
But no, we are the main protagonist of the entire Pokémon game and Pokémon game before gen 9.
Kieran is such a sweet, timid, and curious person I really like him and still do way more than carmine. I know this in the indigo disk he will not hesitate to get back at us and he has a full right to despise not only us but his sister deserves the most hate that she herself cost.
Let’s hope that thing will be better him and we will give us the option to say sorry to him for lying about ogerpon😢
Lastly, the story of the teal mask will be much better if us and Kieran do both the school field trip activities and seeing and befriended ogerpon together instead with the rotten red onion that we know.

We all know that at the end of the first dlc game, Kieran was consumed by resentment and vows to become stronger. He even quotes, "Just you wait" to the player. How about in the second dlc game, he did get a little bit stronger; however still believed that he wasn't strong enough. All the sudden, he encounters the mysterious legendary Pokémon (Dokutaro). Keiran expresses his desire of becoming the stronger and Dokutaro promises to help him achieve his goal. The mysterious Pokémon then granted Kieran powers (just as it did to the "Loyal Three"). As the story goes on Kieran's side, it is seen that he did become stronger; however, he also becomes corrupted (slowly descending into madness). He and Dokutaro could the epic final boss that the player had to face.
But just imagine Carmine with a different hairstyle
The characters, storytelling, and especially the music..
Is just a step up since Scarlet/Violet
And Teal Mask is no different

if on the graphics level Pokemon Violet does not break bricks or barely pass, on the other hand in terms of scenario or on the lore of the characters there on the other hand it is excellent or even nearly perfect: the plot-twist on Turo/Sada, the sad origins of the bosses of the star team and the downfall of Kieran are some of the points that made me totally love the game and make it almost as good as games like Black 2/white 2 or the very first games.
I easily give it 17/20 because Pokemon Violet tries to outdo itself where other games excel. And even if for nostalgic and whiny fanboys this game is ugly for me it has the level of a top game despite his flaws.
here the characters are no longer simple NPCs that you have to beat the crap out of them but now you can get attached to them because the players can recognize themselves in them (Larry for example or Drayton)

To me, kieran is not suppose to be the victim and the villain from all of the trauma from both the teal mask and the indigo disk.
The dismissive of our characters is so awful all they can do is to just make those dumb expressions whenever her low life jerk of a sister carmine wants to be a selfish person as a way to keep her brother safe from “danger”.
I am not a fan of his sister I hate her and she should be the one who gets punished much worse instead of her brother.
Carmine is so annoying, selfish, egotistical, naive, short-tempered, somewhat hypocritical, etc. She also knows that her brother is a huge fan of ogerpon and when us and her saw it at night we were going to explain to him but she stupidly stops us from spilling the beans to him about it like are you for real he deserves the truth and I know for a fact that this will go south from then on for us and Kieran all because of a “overprotective selfish of a sister” carmine.
In the indigo disk was to me some what more worse. Kieran still despise us and it so nauseating to see carmine again like I really do not care about her and all I was very concern about is Kieran.
I do not mind of kieran for giving us a cold shoulder her sister is still being dumb for the fact that she’s the reason why her brother hates her for keeping the secret of ogerpon from him. And the word “shut up/shut it” is what she honestly deserves from him.
Drayton the grandson of drayden from unova is somewhat alright but he’s somewhat annoyingly ignorant to Kieran after we beat him the the champion battle like dude he’s suffer enough, shut up already man!
I can go on talking about Kieran but for those that have already watch or played the teal mask and the indigo disk already know the whole story. And the indigo disk is somewhat fine.
There are two Pokémon battle music of Kieran from a UA-camr named Juno Songs who make lyrics about kieran and his feeling and it’s very touching and helps us understand more about the pain and sorrow that Kieran has to endure. He deserves to be happy with ogerpon😢
I’m not sure if the same UA-camr will make more about him in the indigo but the lyrics sounds super great and Kieran is awesome character to have as a rival along with nemona.

What drives me nuts is a few youtubers I follow hated the Teal Mask especially Joshsorcher them thinking we bullied Keiran and then broke him and that Carmine is an abusive jackass no if you pay attention Carmine while a bit abrasive does have reasons for her actions and Keiran is shown multiple times to have an unhealthy fanboy obsession with Ogerpon we didn't tell him the truth because we didn't want him runing up the mountain on his own or getting in trouble with the townsfolk. This entire DLC is basicly an orgin story for a Blue/Sliver type rival but he had to be our flawed friend first for that fall into darkness to hit as hard as it does
The story, yes. The characters? Ehhh.. I'm not that much into Kiki as when I first saw him. At first I wanted to he friends with him cuz he was so shy but now he's just a whiney punk that thinks he's better than me even though I continue to beat his team into the ground.
I'm sure his character will cool off in the next dlc tho.
And uh... carmine I thought was a jerk at first but then she just.. stopped being one? Idk. I have mixed opinions on how they dealt with her character.
Though the only reason you "beat him to the ground" is because the protagonist is an overpowered Mary Sue.
And he doesn't think he's better than you, he knows he isn't but he still tries and that's admirable.
Also it's not you defeating him, it's your character, which is not the same thing. It's not you that's "beating him to the ground", and he doesn't think he's better than "you", it's your character not you, so chill. Don't take things so personally.

Fact of the matter is. It's a game and he's easy to beat.
I am playing as my character. It IS me beating them because I (the player in question) beat them. As I said it's not that deep. I wasn't on a high horse. You just took my comment WAY too seriously.
Also yeah ik carmine is still a jerk at the end but it's better than her making verbal threats to her brother and her becoming obsessed with you as a rival like nemona. By the end she worries about her brother and while yes still belittles you as you beat the loyal 3 she makes up for it by actually being nice to you.

The main story alone is a mess, both antagonistic teams are really bad, and you have characters like Magnolia or Marnie that just disappear and aren't really explored (don't get me started on the sword and shield bros 💀).
I enjoyed it for what it was, but I feel like gen 7 or 9 managed their characters, stories, antagonists, etc much better
