- My vertical pieces do not get trimmed-i do minimal pulling and finish them with a footer. These will be darted, and will get their spouts and handles soon! Follow along to watch their progress! #pottery #ceramics #wheelthrowing #studiopottery #potterytechniques #potterywheel #clay

Beautiful pitcher!
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Beautiful throw.
Aw thank you
Beautiful work. You are talented. Thanks for sharing the throwing style.
What kind of clay do you use? It appears very mustard colored and I wonder what it is after firing.
The clay is called Klamath Yellow, from Seattle pottery supply. The yellow color is from yellow iron oxide. After the bisque, it’s a gorgeous orangey rose 😍😍😍. The body turns a rich reddish brown at cone 6. (Copy/pasted because I get this question so often!)
Gotz the Skilz to pay the Bilz.
😂😂😂
yeah girl get it!
👍🏽🙋🏻♀️💪🏽
you make it look easy lol
It is! 😎
What a beautiful pull and pitcher! Can you explain why you started by flattening the clay into the large disk? I love your technique, but I haven't seen that done before for a tall, narrow-ish piece.
That’s a sneaky trick to get an even walled, thin walled cylinder. People don’t believe it, people ask a million questions but you just gotta try it
@@AmyPalatnick Can't wait to give it a try, thanks!
@@tswishful let me know how it goes!
This is perfect
Awww 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’m curious. Why do you open so wide even when throwing vertical forms?
Works for me!
@@AmyPalatnick Fair enough. There’s no rule book for what we love to do. Find what works for you and make the most of it!
@@JoeSchumacher-fh5nv there actually is a reason. I just got this question so often that sometimes I’m a bit cheeky with my response.
This method is the only way I know of to make a tall, thin walled, even walled, no- trim cylinder. 👍🏽😎💪🏽
😮 🎉
🥰🙋🏻♀️🙏🏽
Вітаю :)
