For every new purchase I keep the tags on, keep the receipt, put it on my clothing rail so I can see it, and I put in my calendar what the latest return date is; if I haven’t worn the item at least once before then it means that I’m not really excited about it and return it as a rule!
Love this. I've always preferred shopping alone and it makes me feel like an a-hole LOL. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not alone and that this is normal. I need focus and I actually rarely listen to the opinion of others. If I like it and I feel good in it that's all that matters. Everyone has different tastes and clothing should reflect who you are not other people's opinions.
These tips are so helpful. I prefer shopping alone. When I go shopping with someone, I can't concentrate on finding clothes I truly love. And I prefer online shopping because I can create so many outfits in my house as you mentioned. I've had so many shopping mistakes, but I'm leaning.
Thank you! I loved this. So helpful and insightful. I am loving these videos. I would love to see a wardrobe tour as in going through your pieces. Amazing! X
Great video Ashley. It actually makes sense to rent clothes when you are about to leave on a vacation. I always waste money when buying vacation clothes because I only wear it once lol. Your makeup looks beautiful 😍
Hey my favorite beauty queen 👑 from you there is always something to learn, following your style you never made a single mistake you are the woman with the best style such inspiration 🤗!Love and support for the bravest woman 💪🏻 I admire you,you look amazing 🥰❤
I shop like your mom - if it’s $10-15 clearance at BR or JCrew I’ll get it & I’ll feel triumphant but then 8 months go by & the tags are still on, never touched an item! Such a waste 💸
Sorry Ashley….but for the amount you pay for the rental I would rather buy a piece of my own. You do have all relevant reasons for talking rental but it is a waste of money. Life is long and if you choose well you will be able to use a well chosen piece all your life. That is money well spent. Buy great basics…and they can be fashionably classic. If you look for a youthful modern shape it can again, last a lifetime especially if you look at the workmanship, quality fabrics…they do not need to expensive….and you learn how to take care of the items. Purchase from stores with a great return policy so that you have a minute to try your own clothing and return the item if it doesn’t work out. Yes, impulse shopping is fantastic….it fills a need but again make sure that the item can be returned if the impulse wears off……and never ever buy something, wear it out and then return it. This practice is rude, gross and disrespectful to the shop owners who are trying to make a living. I think I just repeated a lot of Ashley’s great points. I was just making the point that renting clothing is a super waste of money. In a pinch if you literally do not have an item that you desperately need for an event then go for it but try not to do it all the time…..sustainability could also be a good reason but there is a world cost to that as well. Just learn to shop well and thoughtfully in general.

Totally agree with the shopping alone one. I always feel a bit like a loner on a mission but when I’m with other people I feel like it’s too chaotic
Normally I would agree, but shopping and having lunch with friends is fun or we sometimes go together then meet up later.

This is great, Ashley! Thanks for keeping us on our toes! 😘
So wish we had the rent the runway option here in Australia! Such a great idea to rent a few pieces a month. Love it!
I really miss the old NYC vlogs😞 That was how I got hooked on your channel.
Are you considering to start vlogging again?
I definitely prefer shopping alone!
Live the sweater 💜
About the 3rd advice i always say (to my mom too) : you don’t buy a price, you buy an item/product! If you hesitate then don’t take it!
Thanks for these tips. I’m guilty of most of these mistakes lol. Keep such videos coming! 😁

What you said about your mum wanting to buy something because it’s on sale or cheap. My mum does the exact same thing😅😂
Totally agree with you! :) btw which lipstick do you have on your lips 😍
Good, quality content.
I think impulse buying is like love at first sight, I wasn't looking for it but it found me.
I've never clicked on a notification this fast before 😅❤

My mom is the same as yours with the sale items hahaha

Don’t be sorry! Renting isn’t for everyone :)
The dogs are really distracting. 😳
Thank you so much for all the advice! Love your videos! I was wondering what is your Poshmark @?
