I converted from full-frame Nikon to Fuji exclusively years ago with no regrets. I could care less about your choice of gear... love and appreciate your content and sense of humor!
Omar tells us that life is complicated. People work, people play. Photographers are people, Omar is a photographer so he is also a people, um, a person! So he works, he plays. He has tools for his work, he has toys to play. Tools can be used to play, toys can be used for work. We subscribers see all of Omar's world, and very lucky we are.
I'm for photography--no matter the gear. I'm for everyone having their own individual style and preferences. I'm for being respectful, thankful, curious and a life long learner. I really appreciate your channel Omar. Keep it coming!
I am a former Nikon film shooter who went with Fuji for the size (and the results!). Also, gosh darn it, the XT 2 ( IMHO) is a sexy little camera that's fun to use. But my son uses Canon gear and we borrow each other's equipment. I believe that whatever works for you is just fine. If we all liked the same things, this world would be a very boring place.
Just told my wife that Omar has two camera systems ... one for family and one for business...she then said if I honestly tell her how many cameras I own that I could do the same...I declined to answer her on the advice of my attorney.
My wife is not a photographer or into it really, but she refused to let me sell my 5d3 of all things. Had to lay it all out on a table for her to go "oooh. When you put it this way it is a ridiculous number of cameras". 4 (m43, ef, efm, sony e) different digital mounts, trying to reduce that to 1.
Wise legal decision. I just say I have "a couple" of cameras. They all look the same to her, and she loves the grandbabies pictures. TBH, she would love them if they were taken with my iPhone.
Sometimes professional photographers forget that this always starts as a hobby for all of us. We all started taking photos for fun and if we eventually blessed to turn this into our career, the fun aspects can sometimes diminish. I took up film again and shoot the little Canon EOS M cameras for "me" as well. I love it! I also love not traveling on vacations with $3000-6000 worth of heavy gear I make my living with! Haha
@@ogonzilla ... this will be an interesting topic for a future video: put on a bench your Sony and your T2 and hide to see which ones disappear first ... 😉
Sold all my Fuji gear,xt3,16mm f1.4,80mm macro,50mm f2 and got the Sony a7iii,90mm macro,70-200 f2.8 gm,24-105 f4,85mm f1.8,and the absolute cream .....the 24 f1.4 gm...couldn’t be happier...love your channel.👌🏻👌🏻
UNSUBSCRIBE FROM HERE???? … NO WAY, OMAR! Those misguided souls can use other channels to "supplement" the Fuji content on here... Your back catalogue of Fuji videos is THE reference for Fuji owners … and indeed non Fuji owners, like myself who have learned a lot about the workings of our own cameras in the process. DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE, PEOPLE.... DO NOT!
This was a good video. The interesting thing for me is that I bought an expensive full frame Canon DSLR and failed to learn photography as I had hoped. I just didn't take the camera around and photograph enough with it. I just remember it having a substantial learning curve, so I always stayed in Auto mode and when I didn't... well, the results were bad and I didn't always know why. The camera was replaced by a smart phone, which resulted in more photos and emphasizing composition. Then, a couple of years later, I decided to buy an inexpensive Fuji APS-C camera -- the XT-2. And, I found myself taking photos all the time, mastering the exposure triangle, and learning a lot about photography. I suppose from a technical perspective that the full-frame Canon takes better photos -- but I haven't touched it since I got the Fuji because I take better photos with the Fuji in every way that actually counts. The cameras just make me a better photographer. I'm hoping someday Fuji will come out with a full frame camera that is still fairly small, but has a bigger handle. But, for now, I bet I can't resist getting an XT-4 in a month or two.
I shoot with the Fujifilm system and can tell you why I would not use it for professional work without caring about upsetting the fanboys. Low light autofocus is not great in single point and in continuous auto focus forget about it. Eye auto focus is way behind Sony and now canon. For static subjects in good lighting eye auto focus works fine but for moving or lowlight no good. Fuji underexposes compared to the competition by half a stop, combine that with worse high iso noise and already less image detail compared to full frame, makes the Fuji a poor choice for low light photographers. Full frame sensor’s capture a shallower depth of field which is desirable for many photography applications. And full frame sensor’s capture more image color depth, more shadow detail and more resolution. All of this information is not subjective it’s factual so stop trying to make excuses that somehow it’s not true or somehow is not important. Fuji is a lightweight fun camera to shoot with good quality lenses at a cheaper price and lighter weight than full frame, that is why I shoot Fujifilm for me too but not for professional work. Their I said it for you Omar so you don’t have to take the wrath, lol.
Oh man...I love this. And agree as well. Yes...Fujifilm is fun for me, but you hit the head. GUYS...YELL AT THIS GUY!!! Joking aside. True...side-by-side with my full frame photographs...sadly the XT2, XT20 lose...by quite a bit. Canon was a $3400 camera though...Fujiflm $899...... Sure clients won't notice the differences... but I do.
Good answer. I worked in the industry and it killed my love for photography. After a change in career; I’m back and as a traditional Nikon/Leica man now totally love Fujifilm. The glass oh the glass has soul! So rear today!
Such pure reasoning. I was all like, he doesn’t use it because low light, battery, etc.... but your point can’t be argued against. It’s bulletproof lol.
I use Canon, Fujifilm and Sony cameras. I will say the best camera I’ve ever shot with is the Fujifilm XT1 and XT3. I was gradually selling my Canon gear bit by bit, then WHAM!!, I bought a Canon5DSr out of the blue. Where did that come from. 50 megapixel baby!. Fujifilm is definitely my favourite though. Did I mention I work at Fujifilm.
It's not that you are saying that shooting with Fuji is crap. Having multiple cameras for multiple purposes is a great idea and also expands your knowledge in photography. Sticking with just one brand is fanboy/girl fanatism.
I respect that dude. I use Fuji for family/travel and Nikon for pro work . I will still use Fuji for paid portraits every now and then but mostly for family/travel like you!
Completely understand where you’re coming from. One set of equipment for work, and another for leisure and having fun. The equipment you hold in your hands will subconsciously allow your mind to switch gears.
Great video! I shoot Canon for work/business, and although I do take an M50 with me a lot for family stuff, I still love walking around the city with my x100f. I just enjoy both systems. The m50 is a bit more flexible, so it does get the ‘carry everywhere’ designation, but when I just want to shoot some street photos, and not be noticed, I often take the x100f. Keep shooting!
I get it. I love my XT-3 and have used it for outdoor environmental portraits..however, I lean on my A7R4 in studio. Main reason....Dynamic range in low light and strobes. I can pull far more information from the shadows in post than I can with the XT-3. Both bodies rock, IMHO but each has their place.
Well put. I bought my X-T2 back in April but kept working with my Canon until I started watching your Fujifilm videos this December. I've hardly put my Fujifilm down since; quite a new found respect for Fuji you've inspired. Thanks.
Your channel is one of the best channels I found in 2019, looking forward to your 2020 videos and who cares about what you are using! You are making great stuff with multiple systems and it is all about diversity!
I could surely be wrong, but if someone gets angry with you or stops liking you because of the brand of camera you use they have far bigger problems than photography gear issues. I thoroughly enjoy your work and the tongue-in-cheek manner in which you present it. Life is far too short to get spring loaded in the ticked-off position over this stuff! It’s a camera, not a value judgment. Keep up the good work!
Unsubscribe from your Chanel??? Pefff!! It would be like leaving a colourful world to go live in a monochrome one. You have a great channel and we love you for what you are and not what you shoot. Keep up man ❤️
Plus if you want to say shoot f1.2 full frame, you'd need an f0.8 Fuji lens equivalent. Or if you need a flip screen etc. So there is a different tool for everything.
I used to shoot events and was rocking a Canon system. Eventually I got a day job, then bought a house, and we had a child. At that point my Canons remained in bags unused for years. My point is once photography no longer became my source of income, and life took over, I wasn't shooting anymore. Last year I made a conscious effort to start shooting again, and decided to sell off my Canon gear to buy into the Fujifilm system. I'm loving the X-T20 on a hobbyist level, and your previous Fujifilm videos have been great lessons to help learn the system. Thanks for all those, and after using Fujifilm for nearly a year I certainly understand why you don't use them for professional work but to shoot for you.
Omar, all the REAL photographers out there get exactly what you're talking about. I shoot Fujifilm, primarily for me. I use it for street photography and I'm soon to make it my only digital ecosystem for my professional work. I currently use a Panasonic LUMIX for that. But I also shoot with Minolta and Canon rangefinders with film. You buy and use the tool that fits your needs. The primary reason I'm leaving Panasonic, or better yet have left Panasonic is that the gear is too technical and doesn't inspire me to shoot artistically. I decided I wanted to use an overall ecosystem that both inspired me to shoot and worked well with my film workflow. All of my film camera lenses work with my Fuji cameras flawlessly. I shoot manual 90% of the time so autofocus is not a big deal for me. Don't get me wrong autofocus is nice to have but I don't rely on it. For me, shooting manual has made me a better photographer. That said, keep doing what you do. Your REAL followers love your channel. I do have one question, why the photo of the MLK memorial at the end of this video? I'm perplexed. LOL
I wish you upload an episode or series about your professional aspect in photography because I think alot of your viewers including my myself want to get into it a day profession and would be a pleasure to have you guiding us through our passion. Instead of we all talk and argue about the gear :)
That's a true privilege and a blessed condition to be able making choices for private personal side without having the burden of the professional side. Besides, being quite flexible to adapt and evolve, it is the key for a intense and fullfiled Life... Congrats for the simple and honest answer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 See ya, blue skies 🤙🏻🍀📸
actually makes a ton of sense to separate your pro gear with your for fun cameras. though i still use fuji if things dont work out and I were to switch to full frame for professional work, in my mind i would totally want a pro3 or next x100V as my for fun street camera anyways.
I don't hate any other camera brands. They all make solid cameras. Fujifilms just makes me want to get out and shoot some photos. I love the photos they take, and I love physical the dials. After a year with my somewhat broken x-a10, I'm finally gonna upgrade to something nice. I'm really eyeing that x-t2 :)
DSLR's are no fun to lug around when you're doing personal work. Totally get it. I also think there is a general public perception that you're not a professional unless you're carrying a 5lb camera with a 6" or longer lens protruding from it. Personally I have two mirrorless cameras (one Canon and one Fuji) and a Nikon DSLR with an assortment of lenses and it's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that the mirrorless cameras can do everything the DSLR can do and do it better. Size matters at least in perception
I've had a Canon DSLR for four years and just got a Fuji last Fall. I thought I would slowly transition from one system to another but discovered I enjoy both for different reasons and will be keeping both. Ain't nothin' wrong with juggling systems.
Great answer - thank you. I love Fuji (because that is what I know - I don't hate any camera company) but I am a scientist and as such, was wondering (for the last video) if there was a quantitative reason e.g. autofocus for using the gear you do. Your answer about separating work/home was fantastic. There is NO WAY I am unsubscribing!!
I shoot mostly portraits. Sony's eye AF REALLY impressed me and changed the way I shoot. The camera is in continuous focus with eye AF ready if needed. Image quality is incredible. Canon's sensor and colors are still my fav.
Love the topic & your unglamorous reason. It’s true that In a world of ProGear everywhere, we have to have something we use for our own passionate content.
Omar, I came here for the Fujifilm content but now I am here because you are hilarious! You could even start shooting with only a toy camera and I would still watch! Great work!
Funny, I started and continue to watch your channel NOT because of what gear you use BUT how you use your gear. I used Olympus for years and recently switched to Nikon. I am smart enough to take your suggestions (even if you are talking about fuji) and evolve them into my style. Keep up with this great channel, you teach and make me smile!
Can't lie. I do really enjoy your vids. I'm not a Fuji shooter but I appreciate the tech and the skills they have. I watch your vids because they're entertaining. Keep it up
You use Canon (and used Sony) for pro work because they have better cameras for that, nothing wrong with that. You certainly don't need to apologize for that. I also have Canon (for over 30 years) and Fuji and wouldn't use Fuji for pro work (I use Fuji for the same reasons you do) and have no problem with that, on the other hand I don't have a youtube channel dedicated mostly to Fuji 😀.
I like your channel no matter what gear you use :) Those who misunderstand you, are probably not aware, that professionals usually have a first and second camera. First is the one we use for work and the second one is something lighter, that we have all the time with us. Sometimes is the same brand, and sometimes is not :)
When you start working as as pro, you'll never have enough cameras. Changing lenses in the field is not recommended for obvious reasons and having backup gear is essential.
This is the question that's been bugging me for years coz I noticed that none of the professional photographers that I work with use Fujifilm. I love Fujifilm and it is the camera brand that really caught my attention, I agree with you that their cameras are perfect for personal use. Thank you for sharing your insight!
Well said Omar. I do not shoot professionally full time but more of a part time thing to try and pay for my love of photography. Therefore, I only shoot Fujifilm but I personally have noticed that when I am making photos for money I enjoy it a whole lot less than when I am doing it for myself. So....I totally get where you are coming from. I am fortunate in that I make a pretty comfortable living with my regular job so even if I am not really making much (if any) money with my photography I can still purchase and use the gear that gives me the most joy. For me that is Fujifilm (at the moment). I am not saying that it is any better or worse than the other brands but it is the gear that I most enjoy using. I will say that I have not tried any of the Sony gear as when I made the switch to Fujifilm the Sony system was not quite fleshed out yet. Maybe I will give it a try next? Keep up the great content and I think you are a very talented photographer as well. I love that you are not afraid to show the stuff that wasn't really good along with the great stuff.
I already think you're pretty great but you just got a huge gold star in my book. "Our brains are hard wired to be triblist, to be part of a group." Thank you for saying something so important that I almost never hear.
There are a variety of other factors; 1.) he may have already been heavily invested in other systems 2.) work flow from other system already established as well.
Recently (delightfully) discovered your channel. Not only are they educational, but entertaining as hell. Good job, Omar...and never lose your sense of humor.
Just shoot whatever works! I personally shoot with fuji xh1 and still xpro1! And my clients always say that they always cry whenever they see the finished product. Idk if they lying but they always come back. So I guess it's somewhat true lol. But shoot with what you have!
I came across you channel when I had bought my X70, to compliment my,Fuji S1 bridge camera, after 1 video you had me hooked and I bought the XT-20 on the promise to myself I'll sell the rest, 1 year on I still have all the camera's cos I love em so much, I use th 20 for work and the rest for pleasure! I had always been a fuji fan this has been enhanced by you Omar so thanks man and if you are ever in the UK, shout me, theres a cold beer and and good old British hospitality waiting for you Bro!
Love your channel! I agree with you I use my Sony for professional use and use my x100f as my everyday carry. Sometimes I just enjoy shooting more for myself with the Fuji!
I get it ..... i use canon, Fuji, Cosina, Pentax, zeiss, Minolta, etc- sometimes you want to have fun shooting-- and that is what I use my Fuji xt30 for -- with an old lens i bought for 10.00 or so at the resale shop. Some of the photos (especially B and W) are WOW--- i am looking for the future xt4, or maybe the current gfx 50r -- no telling where the camera market will be in 6 months
Nope that was not at all rude. I really like your attitude. Its your choice, what to use and what not to. You are not that kind of fake photographer who pretend using a certain brand who is in hype just to get more views. Keep it up.
Just because I sold my Nikon FF system for the X-T3 system (I have my reasons) doesn't mean I don't like other systems. If I were rich enough, I would have a Nikon, Canon & Sony, but I'm not rich. My Fuji has exceeded my expectations for sure, but every system has it 'pro's & con's'. There is NO perfect camera or lens! Although, my X-T3 w/ my 16mm f/1.4 is, well, as perfect as it comes for me,. I still wish I were rich though! Your explanation of why you don't use it professionally IS 'perfect'.
I agree with this so much. I personally owned the a7iii, but I have three of them that I use every day at my day job... I ended up never shooting with mine. It just sat around while I felt burnt out. I eventually sold it and thought I would get my original first camera back out (Pentax k1000) and shoot film for my personal life after my son was born..... But then I saw what happened to the film prices... wow..... I have not been following what film was doing and did not see that coming.... Then I had a friend offer to sell me his XT4 for a price I couldn't pass up... and wow. That was what I needed. If I had the option, I would have likely preferred the XPro3, but I can almost emulate its workflow with the XT4 since you can fold the screen closed.. just missing that OVF. I still shoot the a7iii at WORK and use RAW and all that for my day job, but Fuji saved photography for ME. Those JPEGs mmmmmmm.
C'mon Omar you shouldn't be asking subscribers to unsubscribe from your channel if they dont like what they hear! Some people follow you because your they're guru on advice about fuji gear and they got emotional when omar touched a raw nerve! Im a fuji shooter and i still love my canon gear.. these are tools for different jobs and hey its great that we have cool people like omar presenting us with some education and entertaining funny videos and we must support him for his time he gives us.
Well said - I love your channel and your humour (ok I'm British so it's English spelling). I shoot mainly with Fuji but also have 2 Sony cameras. They are photographic tools and it's not a case of one tool fits all scenarios. The tribe or group I associate with are Photographers - People who enjoy taking good and bad pictures on anything they can use, smartphone to medium format. Keep the videos coming they are great entertainment with a sprinkling of education thrown in :)
I totally get that. I have my X100t as my kinda EDC, or for parties, trips, whatever. If I need a bit more versatility at a christening or wedding (not a pro, I take pictures of my family because i love documenting that) I bring my canon dslr with two or three lenses, BUT that already feels like work, while the fuji is so light and just a beautiful piece of kit that makes you want to take photos... Anyways, I guess what I am trying to say is that I don't care too much about brand, but I do care about what the camera can do for me and if it feels good to use it.
it maybe comes all down to this: if you can do good photos, it doesnt matter what system you are using. the differences between those systems (fuji, canon, nikon and sony) are marginal in my opinion. its a bit like: are you using iphone, samsung or huawei? or if you use apple or pc. or if you use nvidia or radeon.
Hey Omar, I like you open mind. I also use Fuji and Sony. I see it like a question for tools, for the right work, I choose the right tool. When I shoot punk rock concerts, I use my Sony system and if i'm outside and I need a small camera system, I choose fuji.
To those that are interested in event photography with Fuji and this video caused any kind of doubt ("Is he not telling us the real reason he does't fuji, is it because they suck, is it because they aren't enough?").I do concert photography (meaning that if I ever use flash I get kicked out of the venue and press pass suspension for a couple of months) for over two years now under a press company and Fuji is far from enough as long as you are okay with working with primes or super expensive zoom lenses and as long as you are fine with carrying a ton of batteries or being concious about battery life. I started with a Fuji X-Pro 1 and it was fine, that's the lowest you can start with, so yeah some people just prefer to keep Fuji gear for personal use only.
Understood. Thanks for not totally dumping Fuji for Sony. I myself left Sony (A7iii, A7Riii) for Fuji x and GFX. I appreciate having the less weight with the x system and when I want top notch image Quality I take my GFX system. You’re right we’re tribal creatures Lol. Keep up the great work and Fuji videos!!! :-)
Everyone needs a separation from work and hobby/fun... even if those are basically the same. And the fujis are perfect for hobby and personal use, because they are fun cameras to use and toy around. BUT! as Omar said, they are also powerful cameras to use for pro work
If one loves photography it doesn’t matter what brand of gear one uses to enjoy it. I like what canon FF and it’s incredible lenses can do . But there’s something magnetic about holding and using the beautifully designed XT3 and the Pro3 among others.
I just got my first decent camera (Fuji XT-30) and my mentality is similar to yours. Fuji will be my hobbyist photography focused, family camera for it's strengths (size, colors, vibe). In the future tho, I'm going to get a Sony for Videography/content creator video stuff for it's strengths (autofocus, video stability, sharp + clear pics & vids). I don't think I'll ever do paid/professional photography, but most likely I'd use a Sony system (unless I'm going for stylized Fuji colors/film sim photos.) Just like with music gear, and everything else, the tools and gear really depend on the person and their use case.
Love what you have said in this video. I am an XH1 user and a beginner coming from phone photography but I love the feel of just feeling engaged just shooting with this camera , and for me that is what photography is. Just getting out there and enjoying your shots while discovering the camera. Don't need the bells and whistles, just want a fun experience that gets me the shots that I am happy with. I feel that is what it should all be about unless photography is your business or income. Then there will always be a better and more feature packed camera. But as a hobbiest I am just having fun and Fuji has provided that , and even elevated my passion for photography :)
Great video Omar, don’t worry for people that complain! Your videos really fun to watch. I have a Fujifilm camera but I will have to admit that that camera I use the most is the one on my phone!
Hi Omar. I’ve viewed your videos for quite a while & have subscribed. I enjoy the way your present your information, which I find relevant. Would you kindly answer these 2 questions, which will help in my decision to purchase either the Sony a7iii (or Iv when it is released) or the Fuji X-T4 (when it is released). My background information: I am an enthusiast shooting travel, family events (mostly indoors) & some street photography (80% stills). I am changing from MFT (Lumix MG5) so aI am used to small systems. I prefer them as I find the small package ‘tells me to take it with me’ when I go out. The largest prints I make are 20x30, but mostly 8x10. Unless I specifically plan on it, I do not use a tripod & do not take one with me while traveling. 1) In your option, will I find the Sony with Tamron 28-75 too big? 2) Will the Sony a7iii using super 35 mode have sufficient resolution to print 8x10 photos 3) Does the Fuji, with a f2 prime (or faster) produce noisy files (assuming at least ISO 6400) Thank you in advance for your response. Morrie
This is an awesome answer and reason!!! I just started getting into the Fuji system and bought an X-T3 and X-T30 and a few lenses so far. I have a Canon 1DXm2 and a 5Dsr and a ton of Canon glass, but it’s just too big and heavy to carry with me all the time. I went with Fuji, specifically because it’s APS-C, to have a lighter option… and it’s just so much fun to use! I am getting rid of my 1DXm2 but keeping my 5Dsr for the 50MP and more stationary type work like macro (I’m only a hobbyist). I recently contemplated selling ALL my Canon gear, but I think there is room for both systems. I also agree with you that Sony is still king on the eye AF, but Fuji is catching up.
I'm not fanboy of any brand, but I just have a Lumix camera. It's something like that right? I'm using every camera brand that I want, but if I didn't have it, that pointless... my first try using an interchangeable lens camera was a canon DSLR and also Nikon, I love they both, different system has their own character and selling point. And then you choose the features that you need....
Hi Omar, great and honest statement. I just missed the reasons why you prefer Sony and Canon for professional work and why Fujifilm is your no. 1 for private use. Which camera do you use for your talking head videos? Keep going on!
Thanks Omar. I have to decide for just one camera system and I am between Fujifilm X-S10 and Sony 6400. I doubt that shooting with the Sony is as much fun as with the Fuji. But I am not sure about the Fuji AF. I also want to use it for video sometimes.
I'm a camera traitor too. I shoot Fuji X-T3s professionally for video the Sony A7RIII/A99II for stills and the Pentax 67 when I'm feeling retro or I intend on making a huge framed works of art.
Omar, been following you for a couple of years now, and yes i started following for the Fuji content. And yes I was also 😮 when you announced your switch to Sony, but for work. I totally get your separation of work and personal time. Totally makes sense to me. I know many photographers who own Leica cameras and only use them for their personal work. The brand of camera is irrelevant. Photography is more than gear. I watch for the tutorials and the entertainment. Thank you. 🙏🏻
That's the Fujifilm culture...they bring joy and happiness to shooters. I just switched over from Sony, been a Sony shooters since the A7II. One thing I can say is Sony is a great tool, it makes workflow easy but it has no soul in its images.
We use in our small business Sony, Fuji and Canon. Personally I like Fuji the most, my wife Canon. But I cannot use it professionally because when I tried I had issues. In every professional shoot I had one lens lock up on me, nothing helped but changing to another lens, restarting camera, then changing back to original lens. Once I lost an important event moment because of that, had to extract frame from video not to destroy everything. Also other reliability issues, including less keepers than Sony and Canon. So I cannot use professionally a camera which is not reliable (it is a X-T3). Sony or Canon were always 100% reliable.
Exactly. I use an X-e3 for my our joy. No worries, no matter where I go or travel. I take the time to shoot. I have no need for the next perfect picture of the Eiffel tower, shot on a 10k Leica. This is just creativity and joy, cheap and cheerful, no worries.
i use fuji for everything cause I ONLY HAVE ONE CAMERA!!!!!!!
love y'all..
Same here. Love people, not gear :D
SAME!!
Same
+1 here
same here
Omar married Canon, flirts with Fuji, and sleeps with Sony.
Kian J I would flip Fuji/Sony in that analogy
@@JeremyGalloway You understand thia analogy.
Humps Nikon?
I converted from full-frame Nikon to Fuji exclusively years ago with no regrets. I could care less about your choice of gear... love and appreciate your content and sense of humor!
I want to convert, please advise what would be a great first choice

He has tools for his work, he has toys to play. Tools can be used to play, toys can be used for work. We subscribers see all of Omar's world, and very lucky we are.
This is beautiful...no joke. :)
what a cool poem
Bruuuh, these long elaborations are hilarious💀
Lmao. Brother I definitely can relate.
Haha
Right? If I'm out traveling...my XT20 is so small no one would WANT to steal it. :)

Someone's going to be mad at your decision....LOL
Omar Gonzalez Photography I’m waiting for the abuse..hahaha
UNSUBSCRIBE FROM HERE???? … NO WAY, OMAR! Those misguided souls can use other channels to "supplement" the Fuji content on here... Your back catalogue of Fuji videos is THE reference for Fuji owners … and indeed non Fuji owners, like myself who have learned a lot about the workings of our own cameras in the process. DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE, PEOPLE.... DO NOT!
Don’t you ever stop making fuji videos :(
This was a good video.
Sure clients won't notice the differences... but I do.
Thank you. Helped me a lot
Good answer. I worked in the industry and it killed my love for photography. After a change in career; I’m back and as a traditional Nikon/Leica man now totally love Fujifilm. The glass oh the glass has soul! So rear today!
I've done exactly this same thing over the last few months. Love the X100F and A7III's. I am now the happiest I have ever been with my setup.
Matt Jackson your setup is what I want to have. I want to sell my XT3 get the new Sony a7 IV when it comes out
I once let a close friend borrow my album: "The Score", and never saw it again... Hence I fully agree with your "Fugee only for me" thing…
Such pure reasoning. I was all like, he doesn’t use it because low light, battery, etc.... but your point can’t be argued against. It’s bulletproof lol.
;)
True. I think the problem is when people defend a brand blindly...without realizing everyone's needs and likes are different.
I respect that dude. I use Fuji for family/travel and Nikon for pro work . I will still use Fuji for paid portraits every now and then but mostly for family/travel like you!
Loved your answer, Omar. I too shoot Fuji...for my personal work, and another brand for my pro work. Nothing wrong with that - IMHO.
I can understand this, Fujifilm cameras have that "Oh look at this thing, what does this button do?" feel to them. Great video.
Totally understand!! I had Canon before, sold it, bougth Xt3 but it kept feeling like work! So I bought an xt30 just for fun!! 😁
That MLK shot was dope. I totally get the work/life separation. Interesting that it could
Be applied to camera brands. Makes sense.
I am an hobbyist, I have Nikon, Canon, and Pentax. Shoot them all, love them all. 👍
Thanks man....your story rings true.
Congrats for the simple and honest answer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
See ya, blue skies 🤙🏻🍀📸
actually makes a ton of sense to separate your pro gear with your for fun cameras.
though i still use fuji if things dont work out and I were to switch to full frame for professional work, in my mind i would totally want a pro3 or next x100V as my for fun street camera anyways.
Refreshing video and I totally agree with doing things that are just for you! Makes that activity that much more special
(Loving the SARB033 too👍)
I've had a Canon DSLR for four years and just got a Fuji last Fall.
Keep it up
Thanks!!
"Our brains are hard wired to be triblist, to be part of a group."
Thank you for saying something so important that I almost never hear.
I even shoot my videos with the Fuji X-T2 camera. 😅🎥 But I get your point Omar, when I buy another camera, I will also use my Fuji as camera for me.
- Fuji for the fun / ok
- Sony for the eye AF pro work / ok
- Nikon for... ¿? Why? Why Nikon?
Fuji doesn't have full frame. That's it. You can use Fuji APSC for pro work, but is not the best option.
NO drama is a big plus on any subject. Thank you.
There are a variety of other factors;
1.) he may have already been heavily invested in other systems
2.) work flow from other system already established as well.
That is true as well. Well said!
Recently (delightfully) discovered your channel. Not only are they educational, but entertaining as hell. Good job, Omar...and never lose your sense of humor.
Been on this channel for a while. And I love how you're not shackled into one system. Definitely enjoy your videos. Keep it up, Omar!
Just shoot whatever works! I personally shoot with fuji xh1 and still xpro1! And my clients always say that they always cry whenever they see the finished product. Idk if they lying but they always come back. So I guess it's somewhat true lol. But shoot with what you have!
Omar to his clients: Fuji is mine and only mine, not for you
......lol
I came across you channel when I had bought my X70, to compliment my,Fuji S1 bridge camera, after 1 video you had me hooked and I bought the XT-20 on the promise to myself I'll sell the rest, 1 year on I still have all the camera's cos I love em so much, I use th 20 for work and the rest for pleasure!
I had always been a fuji fan this has been enhanced by you Omar so thanks man and if you are ever in the UK, shout me, theres a cold beer and and good old British hospitality waiting for you Bro!
UK is on our list!!!!!!
Be sure to look us up Seriously!
Hahaha well put. Now you have to make sure you get enough “Me time” to enjoy the Fuji🤔😜
I like all brands and systems! Using different brands of cameras sparks my creative juices! 😊
I also use Fuji just to document and photograph my family. And Sony and Canon for pro work
Yep! Same here!
I can resonate with this 100%. I love having a completely different system to capture "me"
Well said - I love your channel and your humour (ok I'm British so it's English spelling).
Loved the last shoot in the video!
Question do you have a video covering what gear you would use if you were using your fuji for professional work?
That's a good idea. :)
would love an answer to this! Like what lenses would you get for event work?
16-55? the F2 primes or 1.4 primes?
I love this perspective! Setting boundaries is great for maintaining a life without stress.
BUT! as Omar said, they are also powerful cameras to use for pro work
It's always nice to have the option of having two cameras
If one loves photography it doesn’t matter what brand of gear one uses to enjoy it.
I like what canon FF and it’s incredible lenses can do . But there’s something magnetic about holding and using the beautifully designed XT3 and the Pro3 among others.
Your anticipation of people's reactions is pure gold! You are very easy to listen to. Keep creating 👍🏻
Thanks man!!!
“have been here awhile” cus im fuji user and your videos helped me alot, thank you
I just got my first decent camera (Fuji XT-30) and my mentality is similar to yours.
Hi Omar, do you also have 2 cars? One for work... and one for yourself?
2) Will the Sony a7iii using super 35 mode have sufficient resolution to print 8x10 photos
3) Does the Fuji, with a f2 prime (or faster) produce noisy files (assuming at least ISO 6400)
Thank you in advance for your response.
Sony a6400. Insane AF. :)
Thank you. 🙏🏻
Thanks David.
Don't despair, there was never anything better than 4 X 5 and 8 X 10 in.
Exactly.
I use an X-e3 for my our joy. No worries, no matter where I go or travel. I take the time to shoot. I have no need for the next perfect picture of the Eiffel tower, shot on a 10k Leica. This is just creativity and joy, cheap and cheerful, no worries.
I agreed. Fujifilm system really a family/personal system. camera that you can bring everywhere.
