I grew up in the church; I was reborn in the church, studied the doctrine and followed it. I'm in my mid-50s now and I don't know the last time I've been. I look at the comments here. So many disparaging remarks. I've grown to the point that I accept that religion has its place but falls short many times in helping people connect spiritually. Too many of us (me included) get caught up in the messenger/pastors and they become like gods to us. I've learned to rely on my spiritual connection with Most High.
These are mere men! They will fail and they will fall just as it was meant to be, just like the rest of us.
I enjoy watching The Preacher. I'd rather watch them than Wendy, The Talk, The View, etc. because they give a perspective that I can relate to. I'm sorry to here of the pastor's downfall. I'm careful not to judge these things so harshly because none of us know where our next temptations lies.
