Gardening in Asheville here. Very similar circumstances, but a little cooler. Frustrating. Also, that Carolina anole had a run-in with something at some point; you can see the gray end of his tail where it grew back. Resilient creatures!
As always, you show both the pain and the pleasure of gardening. I appreciate that directness. Yes, it was joyous to get the RAIN. Even some of my weeds were starting to die! 🤣🤣 The Wave got itself a season of rest…..maybe that’s good. Ouch on your baptisa! I’m all for leaving the bugs alone…but dang! That’s sad. I’ve been delighted that mine has grown so nice and full this summer (helps to be downslope from the veg bed). Aiden gets to go to a trade show….whoo hoo! It pays (or it will) to be an apprentice, especially to such a qualified mentor. ❤ Ok Brie, you hove actually changed me - I now have 4 sundresses to wear in the garden and, yup, love them. Much cooler! 👍🏻 Hope your trip was great, welcome home!
“And look, the dead branches didn’t go away.” 🤣🤣 Hilarious statement - that I may also have used far too many times this season. No time or energy for clean-up pruning. All we do this summer is endless watering…….
Good to see you back, hope you get more rain. We have only had to water our flowerbeds twice so far this year because it has been a rainy summer so far in Ireland this year.
Oh wow! We had a great rain day yesterday 3” and then it rained more overnight! I can’t wait to see the rain gauges. Unfortunately super hot weather is returning but at least a good soaking rain will make the plants survive!
Do you know what I can do besides pulling it up, something to get rid of my chamber bitter crop? It has absolutely taken over every bed I have! It's horrible!! There are so many seeds on the back of the leaves. I just can't get ahead on it. It's so frustrating! Our area in Florida is also suffering from the drought, but we try to garden on.
Ugh I don’t know that there are any truly effective chemical treatments. I think hand removal is still the best solution. It’s a terrible weed. I’m sorry you are dealing with it.

Ahhhh probably a kitty 🐱
Welcome back ! Someone needs a raise for keeping your garden alive! Lol
For pollinators, I recommend Quickfire, Pinky Winky, and Tuff Stuff hydrangeas. Just my personal favorites.

Love a good lizard! 🦎
I'd love to see a close-up of the nut sedge! I think I've got some growing in my yard but I'm not sure
Hi Brie, the salvia is mystic spires. I have three of them, and yes, the bees love these salvias.
Yes!!!! Thank you!
Weather refugees in the us is real. Lots of folks are moving northward in hopes of more bearable temps.
Rain gives your plants nitrogen. Master Gardener lesson was use rainwater and water the roots:)
Looks like you getting more rain today. !!

No issues with the cotton and root knot nematodes?
No the cotton had been unaffected in years past.
