Korean Sebae and the Forgotten Child (Jeju, South Korea)

  • Korean New year or Seollal, has already passed (Feb). So, I'm a little late on this video. I got pulled out amongst the crowed to demonstrate Sebae, a traditional Korean activity where children perform a bow
    with the words, "Saehae bok manhi badeuseyo." I'll pronounce it for you later, lol. It means to receive an abundance of blessings for the "New Year." Traditionally, parents gave our rice cakes, but they also give out money to the children.
    In our case, I had more money than my "wife" and we ultimately left one of the kids empty handed. lol
