No fucking way. I was just looking at the Steam reviews under Post Scriptum and it was full of "Abandonware!", "revive this game pls", "Well, it was fun while it lasted!", and actually felt sad knowing I missed the game when it was at its peak, but now for it to be revived, I'm overjoyed. Gonna download it tonight.
Dude the servers are wild. I saw 16 full servers yesterday. I was happy when I could find a single server open!
If it it didn't get "revived" it's still a great game with more content than most other new games. And there's no battle passes or DLC. People just don't play games that don't have that stuff anymore. They're all sheep that only play the newest games that is trending on twitch, and that's sad.
@@FordHoardno people just get bored of the same stuff over and over again no matter how good it is. But after a while it’s good as new. It’s like coming back to watch your favourite show once every 2 years.

@LOL-zu1zr But the stuff there is complete, and it is good. I'm not against getting new stuff, but not every game is or has to be updated until the end of time. Live service has ruined games and the players mentalities.
As a guy that have over 250 hours in Post Scriptum, I'd say that I'm really happy about PS revival.
I was mostly playing as a Tank Commander with my friend and the biggest fun was to count every destroyed tank
We destroyed 109 tanks in like a 7/8 months of playing that was like just a few times in a month.
I'm gonna go back to PS
First time installing as the game went into DOA shortly after I purchased it initially. Looking forward to the future of this game!
I probably have about the same as an SL/infantry guy. I was so mad at how the devs managed this product and advertised it (or lack thereof). Kinda crap OWI took this long to purchase it too.
But yeah, it's an amazing game and I actually prefer it to squad. Plus I love the gore!
I spent 700+ hours in this game over the years and was incredibly sad to see the player numbers dwindle over the last year. I am so happy this game is making a comeback, especially with how, in my oppinion, bad HLL is compared to PS.
It is just incredibly satisfying to get good in PS, to skill check those pesky SMGs and semi auto rifles with your hard hitting, but generally mediocre, repeater.

The recent news is such a breath of fresh air for gaming for me. Post Scriptum truly is my favourite Milsim Multiplayer shooter and im so happy in it's new direction and the recent influx of attention and players!!

Btw about the last clip, because of the vehicle overhaul, the damage models are similar to War Thunder's now, except dead vehicles don't always burn out. So unless you hit things that are supposed to burn or go boom when damaged, they might not go boom no matter how many times you hit. The best way of making sure they burn out is just targeting their engines/fuel tanks only till they catch on fire, which is especially effective when all of their crews are gone lol You guys killed that tank's modules and crews so it's technically dead anyway

I always thought it was way better than HLL, but to see it revived after its weirdly forced death was wonderful.
@@zackhawn5944 People are just excited of the news I think. So many people came back to the game because of it and so many servers are filled. Hopefully they do have a major update soon though.
I’ve always said - some of my absolute favorite moments in gaming occurred in Post Scriptum. The atmosphere, the teamwork, the historical accuracy, maps, it was and still is so so good.
When you run up to a corner where one of your guys is peeking and you just see him get absolutely annihilated, his arm being thrown into your face. I just love the gory mess that this game can become and Squad is desperately missing :P
I adore the sound design in this game, which Hell Let Loose just doesn't have. The tank shells ricocheting one after the other during tank battles will never get old. I'm so glad that this is back.
HLL just feels like a cheaper quality game even with better graphics, PS is that superior in everything else.

Yeah all the weapons sound fantastic, HLL sounds like staple guns.
It's weird too because Post Scriptum plays like SQUAD in WW2 setting. The maps, menu's, etc...all similar. It was Hell Let Loose that actually got popular though. It should have technically been Post Scriptum that became the popular WW2 shooter.
In fact, when I had an audio bug in SQUAD a while back it occurred in both SQUAD and Post Scriptum at the exact same time (and no other game). So they must have a ton of similarities behind the scenes/code.

Post Scriptum is essentially a highly developed mod of Squad that became its own game.
@@drk1100Not exactly, Post Scriptum was first suppose to be a Squad Mod turned standalone game. The deal was that Post Scriptum got to be its own game but under OWI's publishing.
PS has much better balance than Squad, the original devs spent a ton of time refining it

This game has the best realistic feeling of all ww2 games. The pistols, the fact that you have to line up a shot before you shoot or you lose the advantage or the fact that you can still evade a shot last moment, the water stamina replenishment... best best game ever
Thank you for covering this! I have been playing Post Scriptum for about 4 years now and am proud to have lived through the days and days of dead servers. Hopefully the new studio will fix all of the bugs on the winter maps.
Regarding the missing radio filter for Squad and Command chat: They actually disabled it in one of the last patches as it broke. The volume of people was incredibly quiet with no way to turn it up. I believe you can actually still see greyed out in the sound or game settings
I really hope your video gets new people interested in the game. With the game being “revived”, big content creators spurring further interest could do wonders for it. Was a favorite years ago, but I could never keep up with it as the population dwindled. Now though… I have hope.
Ive got 1200+ hours on this game and used to reminisce about it with my buds all the time... when I saw the news the other day I instantly reinstalled and havent played anything else since.

i have a fond memory from a long time ago while playing this game. I hopped into a Sherman with some randoms and we went on an absolute hectic rampage, almost an hour of intense tank v tank combat where we actually faired quite well.
A new Drewski videos always helps me get the motivation to move through my day, one less painful memory within my life. It's a good day when OperatorDreski uploads a new video. It's a _very_ bad day when he joins a server in the opposite team and decides to get himself a sniper rifle. Still undecided about both things happen at the same day. But hey, the next video might feature you as OD kills nr. 3, 7, 9, 15, 22, 26, ..., so I'm willing to call it a draw and thus, a neutral day.
Love the whole channel and content but mostly love the stalker videos and drew learning to fly planes in DCS

One of the best thing in this game, on top of the teamwork and gameplay, is the sound design. Beeing in an intense fight with 50-80 players around you, these huge artillery explosions, planes dropping bombs, mortar everywhere, and tanks firing in the distance is really impressive and immersive, it's like you're actually on the battlefield. Never heard that in any other game. I'm still super impressed sometimes even after 500 hours in the game.
It was published by OWI and they helped a bit in development too. That K98 scope is the same scope in the video is the same as the Mosin scope as the Sniper on INS in Squad. If OWI fully takes over this game, i would love it. Squad is a masterpiece, i can only imagine a WW2 Squad game.

While there is no radio filter, they do add a little radio noise when you trigger squad talk. Not as good as a filter, but hopefully that helps someone.

I got into HLL right as PS was dying out. Now that HLL is dropping the ball, I'm SOOOO glad we have another option again. And stamina so we can't just rush the whole map! Can't wait to download this again 💙💙

One thing Hell Let Loose did better i feel like, was sniping. The fact it was a 2-man squad with a spotter was a nice touch. Otherwise im just glad this game is on its way back! Absolutely adore it.

Played a lot of PS during the shutdown in 2020 and it was a total blast. It's got a lot of charm, the sound effects and scope are immersive as all get out, and if you're looking to get into a type of game that eschews twitchy, fast-paced meta gameplay FPS games like COD or Battlefield, games like Post Scriptum, Hell Let Loose, and Squad are up your alley. I was able to hop on and play again after a long absence (the game getting "abandoned" hurt) and the community is still as chill and helpful a ever.

Of all the games in this genre (Squad/Hell Let Loose/Battlefield), Post Scriptum was by far the most fun, the most creative, and had the most intense moments. So glad it's back.
On the cathedral map, I would often climb to the top and parkour onto the ornamental statues on the 4 corners, I would literally just sit there and snipe and never got shot at. It offers an amazing angle but with some added risk. You'd be surprised at just how well it works.

AT tips: All damage is modular. At 21:20 you can see them damaged: the hull is lightly damaged(shown by the yellow on the tank compass) the turret rotator is destroyed, the loader damaged heavily, and the ammo rack is lightly damaged; a few moments later after they are hit again you see that the shot started a fire on the ammo rack as well as damaged the engine; leading to the ammo cooking off and blowing up. They could have put the fire out with their fire extinguishers, but ammo fires go fast and usually need more than 2 crew members to put out. Also with the rotator being destroyed they would have needed a repair crane to be effective again. Most modules cant be repaired with hand tools after destruction. Hand tools also cant fully repair most parts.
You can destroy a vehicle by damaging the hull but it takes ages with anything that has high armor/hp values: so anything more armored than a truck usually wont blow up without an ammo or fuel explosion. Best way to fully destroy a hull is precision air strikes. PAS have insane damage, nearly infinite AP on a direct hit and the impact radius will usually destroy all modules; crew included. That said: infantry AT can be extremely effective if used just right.
Magnetic mines are great at stopping a tank from moving; a few of them can be used to blow the fuel but its hard to get one on the fuel while its moving and a fuel-fire isn't guaranteed. Its best to just place one on their tracks/engine and get them to quit moving about. Destroyed tracks can be repaired by crewmen but the engine, fuel and gearbox must be repaired by a repair crane(built by logistics). Most WW2 tanks dont have the greatest armor profile. It's quite easy to hit the loader/ammo rack and take them down when you know what you are doing. There is some rng involved tho. Especially when you factor in other enemies trying to stop you.
If you pick up an AT kit and are a bit newer to the system: first just worry about disabling the tanks movement. You can do this disabling one of their many modules: tracks/engine/fuel/gearbox. You could also kill the crew. The crew can be targeted directly from outside the tank: this is the best way to do it when playing in early war scenarios with AT rifles as they do little damage to components but can snipe crew through the armor(bounces are super common). From here its much easier to deal with the tank when its sitting still. Disabling a tanks movement will allow a Platoon Commander to call an airstrike in on it, as long as you communicate an accurate and precise position to them.
The most volatile and explosive part of a tank is its ammo. Usually the compartment is in the turret itself, near the loader; or below the turret and behind the driver. Thus the most effective way to destroy one with explosive AT(panzerfaust, bazooka, etc): is to hit the turret rotator - the gap between the turret and the hull. The explosion inside will damage or destroy the ammo/loader/rotator; possibly kill the crew; possibly start a fire on the ammo; effectively destroying the tank. An ammo rack destruction will cause a tank to instantly pop. Depending on the tank it can take a few hits and sometimes they will feel invincible. A good rule is: the bigger it is; the bigger/more the boom you will need to take it down.
my furthest shot on this game was 700 meters. Absolutely pure luck but man that was satisfying :D
If they continue working on the game, the graphics urgently need to be reworked. It's way too easy to see opponents compared to HLL. It also always bothered me that all the houses have no furniture and the walls are simply white. You immediately stand out when you stand at a window.
You should consider playing SCP 5K again. There have been some updates with new maps and stuff. Anyways, Awesome video! can't wait to see what you got cooking up next.
Regarding the big chuch you can go into, i was in Arnhem in 2000 on vacation, and one man did tours about the battle, she said he was a young boy living two streets away from the church, when the church one day got bombed, he heard the giant bell come down, it was the loudest sound he ever heard when that bell came down. They still have the bell inside, it's cracked.

Post Scriptum has very detailed amor system all the tanks have their components modelled you really need to be aware of where you are targeting AT, that is why you were struggling to finish of that tank the end
The fact that the squad devs have their hands on one of my fav WW2 shooters is hella exciting. Sucks what happened to the old team but I now the new ones will be glorious.

Noice! Remember your fundamentals about shooting up or downhill, it changes your scope dope by a click or two. You don't have to compensate for distance as much if you are shooting at a downward angle, you have to compensate more if you are shooting uphill. I remember reading a US army sniper field manual about it, pretty sure you can find a copy on the internet. Imagine if we had to adjust for Coriolis effect at distance, having to adjust for the rotation of the earth, That's when we know games got good =)

It's funny because, when i'm a tank, it feels really easy to die. But when i'm trying to destroy it it feels pretty hard.

I've been playing PS since the day it came out, and I have 1500 hours in-game. The game is a slow burn. There's a fair amount of slow time, but when the action heats up... fucking unbelievable. So intense! The maps are so big, and the reliance on teamwork is so strong, that every match is a wholly unique experience. Those long, well-fought matches are truly some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
I've been waiting for a long time for Drewski coming back to this game.

Love this game glad its getting coverage from youtubers to get it further revived! Ive always enjoyed it more than HLL because HLL lacks in gunplay and those smaller details. I used to play when it was dead and my only enjoyment was on 190 to 200+ ping on UK and other european servers

Through its deadest months (2023, 2021, 2018) I played every weekend. It’s just something else to have stuck through that thinking there’s no hope but finding myself in disbelief (still) when the unthinkable happened. I had to convince myself it wouldn’t happen because of how easy it’d be to fix this gem.. thinking backwards for everything.
same here past couple years I also played all the time and would always check if there was a populated server going before I'd play something else.
Honestly I had thought it was made by the same people that made squad just based off the UI, gameplay, and mechanics. But hearing they actually got it now makes me happy for the future of the game

@@k_balu-8104 It's to this day the only game that gives me exhaustion as I play it. The gameplay and atmosphere combined take a toll on me mentally without noticing it at first. But I still love to play it.
I wish there was more like RO or RS simply because they where more tactical and "hardcore" than CoD and BF but not soo much that you needed to hop on voicechat to contribute to the teams like in HLL, Squad and Post Scriptum. Only game I know that strikes the same level between arcade and realism is Insurgency.
Plus side the development 83' has been revived (developers and lead from RS2 are still working on it), which hopefully scratches the same itch but in a Cold War gone hot setting.
Voice chat definitely helps though, especially for team and squad leaders. Team work makes a big difference in RO2/RS.

I can not believe this game is getting a new chance at life by the SQUAD devs of all people. I remember being in HS playing with a group of friends in a squad and having fun week nights blowing up tanks, laying down stupid amounts of fire down roadways and all the while ignoring our homework.
Can’t wait to jump back in with the BOYS and start a new chapter in this 10/10 WWII combat sim

I've seen a large amount of the squad communities I'm in flock to PS after the ico update, I think that has been a major contributor to it's numbers.
The tank repair mechanic is also in Enlisted.

Great gameplay a side, it's funny how this game looks 10 years older than HLL visually, especially when going inside buildings.
It looks better than hll if you play in ultra settings, anything else it looks worse.

I just played the original Call of Duty and it's amazing how well it still plays compared to these newer WW2 shooters! On the other hand it is nice to see how far we have come from those times :D
