  • Thales TACTICOS Combat Management System (CMS) is used on board more than 170 ships (from small patrol craft to full-size frigates and destroyers) operated by 20 navies. Those include the U.S. Navy as well as navies in Asia, Europe, the Gulf region, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa. Capabilities for Maritime Security Operations are commonly developed with the Software House of the Royal Netherlands Navy.

Since you don't have a comments section on your website, regarding your recent story about Lockheed offering a VLS and EWAR equipped Freedom-class LCS: oh thank heavens, FINALLY. A ship that has the speed to quickly react to emergent situations as the LCS was originally envisioned to do, but has enough self-defense to take care of itself without bringing a slow Burke-class destroyer along with it. Only took them, what, eleven years? I've no idea how the Navy would pay for it though... Also not sure if this comes at the expense of carrying the anti-submarine/anti-mine payload. Being able to defend itself from surface and airborne threats but blind to sub-surface threats leaves it in the same "can't take care of itself" box it's been since it was launched.
