I feel like Rodrick's the only normal one in the family. He actually has a goal that he wants to achieve, and is actually passionate about it. Greg is just a guy who lies to get what he wants, and manny is just manny. Susan is also partly to blame as well, as she's also even made Greg sleep inside a drawer when he was younger. Not only that, but she also condones manny's bad behavior, like how during cabin fever, manny turned off the electricity and everything in the house because "nobody taught him how to tie his shoes".

An alternative timeline after the middle of the story of The Last Straw, where we get to see Frank's perspective and he changes to be a better father, is genuinely an amazing idea and I'm glad it's written

Why does this rabbit hole contain several surprisingly well-written stories? Maybe it's just that the style is easy enough to emulate but still, I'm shocked there's any level of quality to the strange realm of Diary of a Wimpy Kid fanfiction.
Damn, this story was the heartwarming AU I didn't know I needed. Feels like most Wimpy Kid fanfics are either shitposts or crackfics but it's actually nice to see a genuine one.
Now extended it with another one that follows the “25 Years Later” series. You could include in the end how you’re about to die with cancer, and then Susan could continue writing the rest of the diary.
