Thru-Hiking the FOOTHILLS TRAIL 2019 - The PERFECT Appalachian Trail Training Hike
Part one of our adventure thru-hiking the Foothills Trail. In the spring of 2019, myself and Flossy set out with the goal of thru-hiking the Foothills Trail in South Carolina. This 77 mile trail is a hidden gem of the south; thru-hiking the Foothills Trail was basically like thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, but for only a few days. The Foothills Trail Conservancy does an UNREAL job of maintaining the Foothills Trail, and if you live in the Southeast, you're doing yourself a dis-service if you're neglecting to explore this trail.

Absolutely Gorgeous Trail and thanks for showing me Carolina North and South. Beautiful falls and swimming holes. Will put this on my list for hiking.
I hiked this trail about two days after you did and camped at all the same spots except on the last night we stopped before the summit of Sassafras. This trail is superbly maintained and I would highly recommend it as well.
Greetings from the northern Whites. My wife and I are planning to hike the Foothills Trail in April. Glad I found your video. It is great to get a glimpse of what to expect before we get there. I can't think of a better way to jump-start the hiking season than to head south during mud season. Thanks for posting!
I like how you put captions for Flossy! Likes we cain't speak da southern 😆!
lmao it's a foreign language!
great activity......healthy for every person who love this activity ....salam dari Indonesia
Thanks for posting both videos. Was not familiar with this trail but it looks great.
Thanks so much! It's such an incredible trail. I hope every one's journey on this trail is as goofy and fun as ours was!
A great hike and excellent video. Thx Kyle.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for tuning into the livestream last night
I know I am late, but I just subbed to you a couple of days ago. I am transitioning into a section hiker from a weekend backpacker, and the first leg I want to do is from table rock to sassafrass mountain. Thanks for pumping me up even more. I am really enjoying the content mate!
Best of luck out there! It's such an amazing trail.
Plan on doing this section hike this weekend. It's going to be hot in July but we are determined to make Table Rock to Cantrell first day. The next morning Cantrell through Sassafrass ending at Laurel Valley Access. Wish us luck! Plan on capturing some images and videos here: instagram.com/smarthumans_dumbhikers/
Rescheduled my Thru-Hike of this trail for October of this year. That restaurant you went to post hike looks incredible-- remember the name of it by chance?
So is the trail in a circle? Y’all ended up back at your car so I’m assuming it is.
Nope! We left Flossy's car at the end and took a shuttle from there back to the start. Then we hiked back to the car.
Hey, since you guys walked back to the car, who was your transport to Oconee? Thanks.
My parents drove us from Table Rock to Oconee! And then we hiked back to our car.
What was your favorite 30ish miles of the hike? Wanting to do a section hike.
so, here's my thought.. you and Flossy should quit your jobs and just do this full time. Hike the country, hell the world, and make vids of your adventures.
here's another thought... you cover my salary as a software engineer, and then we will talk ;)
