Painful & Damaged Nail Removal
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Nail avulsion is when part or all of a nail is torn away or removed from the nail bed. Common causes include ingrown nail, injury, or infection.
Here is a patient of Dr. Bautista who smashed his toe against a trashcan causing his toenail to completely separate from his toe!
Dr. Bautista had to do a whole removal of the entire toenail, hoping the nails would grow back the same shape because the roots don't seem damaged. The mini surgery was quick since Dr. Bautista performs this common treatment.
The patient was successfully relieved and the nail will grow back in three to four months. Currently, at-home treatment to speed the recovery is applying antibiotic cream and soaking in Epsom salt.

Compared to other videos I watch, this really seems like an incomplete job.
This entire procedure was substandard in my opinion. It seems a scalpel would have been a better choice for scraping/cleaning the dried blood from the toe. This process seemed incomplete as no irrigation was performed and no antibiotic cream used. I would not have published this.

Watching this video because I too lost my toe nail completely, lying on bed all day healing is pretty painful during these times
Update : within four weeks my nail has grown about 30 percent small progress 😊
My nails half ditched and went to the hospital the doctor plucked the rest of nail now i am in heaven 😭😵😫

Why in the HELL did I watch this!? I seriously almost lost my lunch, dinner, AND tomorrow's breakfast!!! PAIN!!! I DON'T EVEN HAVE FEET ANYMORE AND THIS MADE THEM HURT ANYWAYS!!!
Are you an amputee? What happened to your feet
Deformed foot bones, too-high arches, and botched surgeries. I lost them in 2018/19. It's a pain in the butt, but I make do. Most difficult part is my house is falling apart, holes in the floor, Prosthetics hurt like hell, and weigh like 30 pounds each.

It's all good, I'm still able to cook, clean, sweep, do laundry, and generally take care of my Man. I have a scooter to ride around on outdoors. I'd rather have my feet, but as soon as I moved to Kentucky, I was overzealous to get my feet fixed, so I JS of did it to myself. I'd had problems for about 5 years, so I was tired of f&%$ing with them. 😂💃

Ouch! I almost had a nail like that when a shower door fell on my toe. Thankfully the nail just fell off and grew back
How long did it take for it to fall off and could you walk ?
@@theblank9491 I could walk okay and it took about a week for it to fall off. I did have to protect the nail bed so there wouldn't be an infection
