- In this video I make Namak Para, Chakli (Chakri) and Thandai for the first time! I take my creations to my local Indian Café; Tifinbox -and the chefs try my food - one Uncle gives a very descriptive review and offers advice on how to make the recipes better. I happen to also stumble across two students who gave my Namak Para a review. And this all happened during the festival of Holi!

You are incredible! I've grown up eating this food but would never have done as good a job as you have in my first attempt. Many accomplished chefs and home cooks wouldn't dare to try to make chakri and you did it perfectly!

My friends girlfriend designed the T-shirt but I don’t think they’re on sale anymore! I think she just did it as a one off. I’ll ask her if she’s doing more in future; it’s very cool isn’t it! Otherwise, I’m planning on designing some T-shirts myself but they will be in Hindi not Gujarati.

The Para should have ground cumin. I’m sure it tasted great with ajwain too.
No Besan in the Chakri. That’s what makes it dark and taste wrong. Mainly it is rice flour and you will need a little plain flour or chapati flour for the gluten and binding.

is Karan blind ? anyway you don't need to add cumin seeds to namak paare. ajwaain / carom seeds are enough. Also there is no need to add green chili to chakri.

Indian food will have more salt then west. As it is hot their the spice and salt helps you perspire and maintain body temperature. (spice helps perspire and salt helps replenish the nutrients lost with sweat.

Chakri looks good mostly, take it out of oil as soon as it looks light golden color. You did very well, especially considering you did it very first time. Did you buy those sun glasses just to imitate that student with glasses.
