Couple of interesting factoids about this scene; - The entire choreography of this scene was done by Trey's girlfriend at the time, Leanne - She is the women in white with a red hairpiece, at the front and centre of the group shots (her only appearance, not only in this movie, but she has only appeared in one other title [see IMDb]) - The horse in the movie is named after her, and the jokes about the horse leaving Alferd, are actually about Leanne leaving Trey. - Cartman's mum in South Park is named after her, and the joke about her being promiscuous is Trey's way of calling the real Leanne a slut - Matt Stone is featured in full drag in another part of this movie, but not in this scene, he plays a Sheriff/Deputy and can be seen at 0:09 with cowboy hat and fake moustache. - By this time in the drunken commentary, pretty much everyone is totally shitfaced.

At that point (drunk) Trey starts yelling "Opps ! " in the commentary " I make (don't remember the number but it was several millions) and you chose him, oops !, You stupid bitch"

Lianne was actually his Ex who cheated on him. It's why he named the horse that who ran off with another man, got ridden by the whole town and then killed.
Is it weird that as darkly funny this movie is I really enjoyed it because of how Trey Parker and Matt Stone wrote & made this movie from a filmmakers and a Fan's perspective. I really hope they're able to make more movies in the future

While their triffic TV series South Park reigns supreme, I also enjoy their work in film (Baseketball, Orgazmo, Team America: World Police and of course, the South Park movie). And let's not forget this one, Cannibal! The Musical. Great stuff. Loved the songs and comic moments. Having mentioned musical number, I've been to see Book of Mormon at the West End in London. * Triffic is a British abbreviation for terrific (I'm a Brit, in case you can't tell). Parker and Stone acted the leading roles in Baseketball directed by David Zucker (Airplane!, The Naked Gun).

Part of the humour comes from the type of song (really happy) teamed with the situation (the hanging). Maybe you need to be a bigger musical fan to appreciate it? Parodies of musicals as a genre is quite often used on south park esp. in the movie so it's a theme through out their work.
