How in the hell can removing the digitizer reduce a thickness of a device, personally i think Samsung is trying to use bs tactics to give them a reason to ditch the pen all together and if that's the case I'll be done with them after my fold 6 is paid off especially with them dropping air commands with the s25 ultra
They dont have to get rid of the digitizer. Do it like they did in the note series. Samsung devs are just makes excuses to cut costs and continue to ignore their customers.
I have the fold 6 and can wait to get rid of it. I just don't find the mini tablet format useful. I may have used it 10 times in the last 6 months. The main screen is a downgrade from the s23 ultra I "upgraded" from. I have never regretted a phone upgraded, and I would take back my old phone in a heartbeat. I understand this is purely based on personal use cases, so ymmv. I, however, will not be buying another flip or fold from Samsung. We have also had 2 new flip 6s touchscreens die and a flip 4 that likes to reboot on fold. IMO, the concept is great, but they need to go back to making the note with a longer battery life. It was a winner when it didn't blow up!
Because the fold function can be used for drawing, and sometimes when I have to explain work requirements to clients, the S Pen comes in very handy. If the S Pen function is removed, can I use another Bluetooth pen? In addition, I hope that the fold 7 can have the same camera lens as the s25 ultra, and the battery capacity and charging wattage should also be increased.
Spen + a proper camera! I don't care about weight or slimness! I skipped the 6 and 6 special edition because of those reasons! I guess it's goodby to samsung if this happens😢, after... How many years?!

Get this, certain service providers are refusing to endorse it, stating that the previous version & this one have the same issue, the screen breaks before the end of the first year on a two year contract. They say thye got to many returns. This is Videotron in Quebec Canada. This is what i was told by store manager who also happens to be spokes person for Samsung. He said, i owne one, he showed me his busted screen, right at the fold line, both fold & flip have the same issue, Samsung didn't fix the problem. 😬
I'm always surprised to hear about rampant issues with the Fold lineup. I've had the Fold 5 since launch. I dropped it more times than I can count. I throw it in my bag for work, the gym and even the gun range. Heck, I've run 2 marathons with it,drppoed it a few times on the course (NYC), and mine is fine. Maybe I've been lucky, but I think these durability issues are greatly exaggerated
Why drop the spen for a 32nd of an inch I was waiting for this to upgrade now I have to go to a different device after having every Note from 1 on. They have lost their way
How about going for a very cheap camera for one option and have a 10 inch display with the best possible tablet mode chips and battery life and have an excellent camera on another option. For some of us the camera is mostly a inconvenient lump that costs money. A small one for basic photos and qr codes is all that some of us need. With a large inner screen the front one would also be a more useful size and when you wish to read or watch a video you just unfold it. An optional battery case that can be separately be rechargeable would also be good as you could have more than one and use your phone non-stop all day just swapping cases as needed.
Bigger cover screen is the main thing for me. S Pen is very important for art, especially for the big fold-out screen. No S pen? I'll still buy the Z Fold 7. Can't wait. 🙂

There's no point to the fold without S Pen support. I don't care about it being thinner. I care about the versatility with the S Pen.
Nobody uses the pen. Jus make a regular size front screen and the phone is perfect

Without the S Pen support, the new Z Fold is just a big S24 base model with the poor camera specs.
